Top 10 Projects of 2007

Pin It Now!

Manuela~The Feathered Nest posted her top 10 projects for 2007 and I thought it would be fun to do the same. (click on the highlighted text to see the original posting)

1. The bedroom makeover. This was the biggest project I did last year. I plan to paint the walls a different color this year, a softer blue.

2. The dining room chair makeover. These were my last project for 2007.

3. My little caddy a easy project, just added an applique and painted.

4. My Coffee Filter Roses. I have these on my counter at work. People still come by and smell them. They can't believe I made them from coffee filters. I plan to make more of these this year!
5. My bench makeover. I also redid the mirror last year or maybe that was in 2006?

6. My apron that I sewed from leftover fabric with so much sentimental value.

7. My patio. This is still a work in progress. I guess gardens always are.

8. A simple project of wrapping clothes hangers with ripped strips of fabric.

9. Valentine cookies. These were a much bigger project than I expected them to be but I can't wait to make more this year.

10. A button wreath. This was one of two that I made last year and I gave this one away on my blog. It was simple to make. I just wrapped a styrofoam heart with strips of muslin and hot-glued buttons on it. eBay is a great place to find buttons!
That was fun. I can't wait to do this again for all my 2008 projects! I know my kitchen and dining room table will be on the list but I wonder what else I will be doing this year. I can think of a few projects I want to accomplish...the bergere chair, the wallpaper in the powder room, slip covering a chair in the living room, making little tie on cushion covers for my dining room chairs, painting my bedroom, finishing my daughters room, painting the upstairs bathroom....

I really love reading your blog everyday and really admire your hard work. You are always working on something and getting it finished right away. I'm always working on something and get sidetracked and start on something else and it takes me forever to finish a project---I guess I need to be more focused!! Have a good week and keep up the good work. ~teri~

Cindy,

Please come stay at my house for a year :>) While redoing the master bedroom and bath, my "craft" room got everything dumped in it. I can't even get in there. I have so many nice things stored away. I just wish I had the time and energy to do something with them. You just have so many wonderful ideas. I will be off work for about 6 weeks starting Jan. 23rd. I'm having Arthroscopy knee surgery. Hope I'm able to do a little around the house while I'm recovering.

I love to visit your blog and see all the great projects you do. I am always amazed at how much you do. I'm great at starting projects but very often I don't finish. I love your bedroom makeover. My bedroom set looks similar to yours but it's not wood...just a cheap imitation. Since I can't afford to buy a new one I've thought I might attempt a make-over. Just need to get motivated to start.

Cindy you must never sleep - I've enjoyed watching all these projects over the past year, goodness me, you put us all to shame!!

I have a slightly narrower same type of table in my kitchen and would like to paint it. Please tell me what you used for primer to make the paint adhere to the wood top - and I guess you sanded well first. Also, who's paint and what finish? Did you finish it with clear Briwax by chance? I have used that on other painted pieces and like the finish it gives and seems to prevent scratches etc.
Perhaps you could drop me a quick e-mail when time permits -
