Enjoying my patio...

Pin It Now!

Late Friday afternoon when it started to cool off a little outside, I grabbed a magazine and some sparkling pink lemonade (Trader Joe's French Market) in one of my new glasses I bought at the Goodwill. I saw these glasses about a week ago and didn't buy them but I kept thinking that I should have. I was sure they would be gone when I went back in but they weren't! Even my daughter, who has completely different taste in things than me loved them. I got 4 of them for $1.99 each minus 30% off.
The silver tray that I was using on the dresser in my bedroom has been moved downstairs...I'm always moving things around. When I brought this all out and set it on my patio table to enjoy, it dawned on me that I'm still like a little girl that likes to play house. I'm not the type to put drinks in paper cups or even plastic. I love to play house and make it special...even if it's just for me. I'm sure most of you can relate!

This sparkly pink lemonade is pretty good. If you have a Trader Joe's by you, you should try it. I love the bottle!
Here are some of the flowers growing on my little patio. Since it's dry all summer here in California, I have to water every day...it's a labor of love though.
These delphinium are growing in a large planter. They seem to grow better here than when I plant them in the ground. I have petunias planted in the same pot.

Roses & impatiens are doing well even in the heat we had last week!

Oooooh, yummy! What a little haven (or heaven) you have out there. I'm with you on those lemonade bottles. How cute are those? Wow. Love the little glasses and the ambience of your flowers and garden. Labor of love, huh? Maybe that will help me shower (literally) a bit of "love" on my poor babies on the sweltering hot patio. I'm a bad mama for flowers when it's July. My grandmothers would be ashamed of me.

How lovely!! I love the glasses and I'm glad you went back for them. Don't you love quiet afternoons with a nice something cool to drink and a new favorite magazine? And you have such a beautiful setting. Enjoy!!

Cindy,

Your pics are beautiful! You set up nice vignettes. Your place really needs to be featured in a magazine.

I LOVE those glasses. You could, also, use them as vases.

Those glasses are divine! I know just what you mean about "playing house" -- I love to set a beautiful table, and I couldn't stand to set the table when I was growing up! I was a real tomboy, and would much rather be in the barn. Go figure...
Enjoy!

That looks like so much fun. I like the way you have chosen to surround yourself with things of beauty...and then the beauty inspires you. :)

I spent part of the day polishing silver trays and my silver tea pot (all purchased at thrift stores, Goodwill, and the antique mall...for cheap).

The lemonade looks delicious in that glass! I miss growing impatiens in California ... mine lived for years. Now that I'm an East-Coaster, they die in the winter. I don't have to deal with snails in my garden though.

Tell me more about that comfy cushion on the loveseat. Did you make it?

You always know how to create blissfully sweet ambiance and isn't that what we all need a little more of in our lives?
Any day can be just a little bit more special!

Your garden is so pretty!

We are finally getting rain here so I am enjoying the rain on the roof and the gentle rumble of thunder...

Here I am again...I found a Trader Joes about twenty miles away and made a trip there yesterday! Spent way too much, but came home with some wonderful things. Great place and I picked up some of that sparkling lemonade!...Now I think I must be addicted to it! Good thing I bought several bottles. Now I can't get those pretty glasses out of my mind...mmmm, wonder where I could find those?
Thank you for posting about the drink! I'll think of you each time I have a glass!
