You've probably seen in some of my photos that I have a lace curtain hanging in the doorway from my dining room into my kitchen. I added the pearl "C" on it this weekend. This was a gift from Debbie K., one of my blog visitors. (Thank you Debbie!) She sent this along with some other beautiful things which I will show you in another post.
A view peeking through the lace into the kitchen.
I think the lace softens the hard doorway.
I just used a spring tension rod between the doorway to hold it up.
I think the thrift store curtain and the $3 curtain rod add a lot of charm for very little money.

Such a nice romantic touch, softening the doorway. Love it!

Cindy,
Lovely. It's so easy to decorate from a thrift shop.
You spend less money and you get a great reward.
I go to thrift shops several times a month. Sometimes I don't find anything and sometimes I do.
My son is always telling me I spend too much money. But If he only knew.
See you in the thrift shops.
Glenda
Those are the best!! Not much money, but lots of charm.
Thanks for the nice comments on my blog Cindy!

Love it, Cindy! And even better because it was thrifted! ~ Lynda
Love the look of the curtain and how gorgeous the Pearl C is.

Very beautiful!
It seems to soften and divide the rooms without seperating them completely. Trust you to come up with such a great idea. The little pearl C is adorable, as for the lace, gee a whole $3.00 with the spring wire. Makes it nice and easy to take down when you need to wash it.
Very romantic Cindy! And again, you have proven that it takes very little money to create something gorgeous!

How lovely! And it adds such a sense of mystery -- makes you want to see that lies beyond...

Oh Cindy, what a wonderful idea! I think I could do the same thing in the opening to my hallway that is off the living room. :)
I sure do love that lace curtain in the doorway and the "C" adds such a special touch. Thank you for sharing.
This is just beautiful, Cindy. I, too, have a curtain (mine is toile) hanging between my breakfast area and my living room. Just softens and adds personality, I think.
I love the lacey one you have!

Very special, Cindy. I love touches of lace and peeking through to the other side makes the next room look very cozy.

I love the way the curtain looks! I also like that "spring flowers" sign you have above the door!
This is wonderful! I have been considering adding a curtain in the kitchen/dining room doorway. I doubt it would be as pretty as your is! The sparkly C is perfect!!
You have the most wonderful ideas!

Sue
What a great idea! I always see single panels at the thrift store but never pick them up for lack of ideas--this is a great one!

I love great thrift finds and lace is one of the things that I hunt for too. I love the look. It truly does soften the look from the doorway.

Doesn't this look lovely! What a great idea!
Thanks for giving my blog a visit!
I love the lace curtain! I have a red one going down into the botton "split" of our split leve. That way I can hide all of teh crap down there when people come over. I love your kitchen.. very pretty!

Cindy, that looks very pretty...and I love your kitchen makeover, too. You did good! :)
Could you use a few more lace curtains like that one? I have two (or three?) that I'm not using...I would love for you to have them if you could use them.
xo,
Andrea
Cindy,
Isn't that letter C just the right touch for your lovely lace. I love the view from your dining room looking into the newly redone kitchen. It just looks soooo romantic.

Cindy:
Love your ideas, love your home. You are a truly amazing woman. So talented and creative.
Glad you were able to display and enjoy the "C".

Wonderful use of the curtain. Makes everything look soft with a touch of elegance. I just love, love good deals:-)
Very romantic touch. And so easy.
I have a curtain panel on my kitchen doorway, too. But mine is usually hiding the dishes in the sink. LOL
Kimberly :)
Very nice transition into the kitchen. It's very romantic and so simple.
My friend lives in an apartment and her bathroom has a tub with a sliding shower door. She filled in the space from the ceiling to the top of the shower door with a lace valance. It's amazing how it softened the area without covering the shower door.

Love the idea. I think I have some old lace curtains that I was given hidding in my very cluttered linen cupboard. I will have to find them now.
Cheers Linda
Just wonderful! I have thought of adding fabric to a rod between my 'L-shaped' living room and dining room to soften it and give the look of individual rooms. I love what you did and the 'C' is the perfect touch. ~Adrienne~
This is such a nice touch, and the C adds a nice finish to it.
