One and two years ago, this month...

Pin It Now!

One of the great things about blogging for so many years (over 5 now) is that it's fun to go back and look what I was doing in the past. It's so wonderful to have so much of my life documented here!  I started wondering what I was doing this time last year and then that got me wondering what I was doing in August of 2008!  I went back through my archives and found this photo above.  This was always one of my favorite photos...it was before I put my big blue cabinet in this spot.

I also saw that I did a seashell wreath tutorial in August of 2008.
I also did my laundry basket makeover in August of 2008. I can't believe that was already 2 years ago! It still looks really good and I use it all the time!
This time last year I was baking cupcakes!  I'm not doing that now! I'd rather be down 25 lbs than eating cupcakes!  I had a lot of emails asking how I lost the 25 lbs. I did it on Weight Watchers. I also go to the gym almost every day. I run 2 to 4 miles on the treadmill and then about 1 mile on the elliptical.  I also do resistance training with resistance bands. Every once in awhile I play with my Wii Fit too!  I also walk a mile on my lunch hour almost every day.  It seems to be working.  I have more to lose and I think I can have it all off by February! That's my goal!

I'll be back later tonight with Show and Tell Friday!

That was is so beautiful.....I sat there looking at each detail for a long time... I need my house to look like that. (want vs. need...heh...)

Hi Cindy,

You are always beautiful, but at 25 lbs less you are probably healthier and feeling better and that is the most important. You have the magic to transform even a laundry basket to make it pretty but I do think all the changes you are making for yourself are the most important. Thanks for letting us in on your personal transformation. I wish you much health, love and happiness.

Cindy I think its kinda neat you
can go back and look at the way
it's been. It sounds like a lot
of fun being able to see what was
going on in the past. I still like
your big cabinet in that spot. I
am very proud of you for doing all
that exercising and losing all that
weight. That takes a lot of will
power and discipline. Good for you.":O)

I love looking back through my previous posts too, even though I have only been blogging a little over a year and don't post nearly as often as you do. I remember your beautiful shell wreath (and the one you made with buttons too). I was so inspired by it, I made one for myself.

Congratulations on your weight loss. I commend you on your determination. Twenty-five pounds is no easy feat. I personally know this because some years back I lost about 55 myself but unfortunately I've gained most of it back. I'm trying to get inspired to start working at it again but mentally, I'm not just not there yet. Too many stressors and distractions in my life right now. :(

Good Afternoon, Cindy,
I love looking back too...but my photos are not nearly as pretty as yours!

Have a thoughtful Thursday, ~Natalie

I love the sidebar with the beautiful plates above it. Whatever you do with your home will be lovely - we all love a change every so often.

Wait until you hit 60. That's the one that bothered me - 50 was easy. As one ages, though, time seems to speed up. And the days go faster and faster.

I can't believe you have been blogging for five years! I will reach my first blog anniversary in November. It is a wonderful way to record one's life, isn't it?

Wow, you were miles ahead on the whole shell fad, I'm barely just trying to incorporate some into my decor!

That's awesome about your weight loss, you look faaaabulous:):):)

Love the pics. I love the blue plate display and I think I gained 5 pounds just looking at those scrumptious cup cakes!

Hi Cindy....I noticed you chose a photo from the past of a table with blue plates on the wall above....similar to what you were talking about in regards to removing your china cupboard, with a few posts back....hhhhmmmm....'very interesting'.....

Maybe the 'less clutter'ness feel that has come over you is because you have 3 large pieces/cupboards in one space and want some more space....

but I still vote not to get rid of the cupboard......but I like the table obtion too...ugh, what to do?

I remember each of those tutorials, Cindy. Another blogger and I joined Weight Watchers a few weeks ago. We're keeping each other accountable. You're looking mighty fine these days, by the way!

Hey, I like everything you blog about, yours has been one of my favorites for the last five years!
Congratulations on not just losing weight, but for being so disciplined as to exercise like you do! I could not do that, all I do is walk almost every day for 30 minutes. I do have five pounds that I have been fighting for a couple of months, though. I still love your blog! Keep up the amazing work!
Hugs, Cindy S

So wonderful to have your life documented... Your home always looks so welcoming any time I stop for a visit, love it. Do you remember the color of the yellow you have painted on the wall? I'm moving and will be doing concord ivory by benjamin moore, it's gold toned but the yellow you have seems softer, love it!

Cindy,

I do remember those tutorials! Wow, has that much time passed??

Also, congratulations on the weight loss. It really takes such strength of character and discipline to lose weight. I'm battling with it right now. I would be thrilled to death to be 25 lbs. lighter!

When I accessed your blog almost could not believe it! The wall plates are objects of my adoration! No wonder that I'm following your blog, have many things in common. I love the style of Ralph Laurent, I love blue and white and also repaginate my dining room and my bedroom, both in Provencal style. If you access my blog www.mattiva.blogspot.com you can see photos I posted there, you can comment in English if you wish, then I translate. Big hug of Brazil!
