It's Show and Tell Friday time once again!  This has been a crazy week, as you can probably tell from my lack of blog posts!  I can't believe it's Thursday already!   

Last weekend I cut my lilacs and then got so busy that I never even got a photo of the beautiful bouquet. It's now sitting on my coffee table all dried up and dead!  So, I'm using my photo from last year...it looked exactly the same. LOL 

We are finally having wonderful weather here. We had 15 days of continuous rain and now it's sunny and in the 80s here!  I love it!!  

I finally got over to my favorite little shop, Vintage and Vogue, and took some photos...I can't wait to share those with you next week!

A few weeks ago I shared a catalog photo of a lace top I ordered online, so I thought I would show you the top on me.  It's not a great photo because it was taken with my iphone in a dark bathroom through the mirror but I LOVE this top so I wanted to share...

It's the first Show and Tell Friday since Spring has sprung!  It feels more like Winter here in Northern California though! Cold, wet and very windy!!!  I'm so ready for warmer weather!

In honor of Spring, I'm sharing some nests that I've decorated with over the years! 

I had planned on sharing my huge bouquet of lilacs I cut from my garden but I haven't had a chance to take a photo of them yet...Maybe I'll share that next week!

I love nests and I love tucking them here and there...

I'm a Rat!

Yep, it's a little obvious that I'm a pack-rat but that's not what I'm talking about! 

I'm back to doing online dating again and I saw a guy on there that was looking for women that were certain animals in the Chinese Zodiac.  I think he was looking for a Dog or a Pig...or was it a Cow?  Pretty funny stuff to see on a dating site!  Anyway, I'm not one to judge! 

I was born in 1960 so I'm a Rat.  For some reason that made me do a Google search on "The Year of the Rat" and boy was I shocked when I read the description of a Rat's home! It is totally me! I highlighted the things that made me gasp...soooo me!!!

Rats make good homemakers who are always willing to do household chores. Rats are not usually interested in keeping up with the times, and it doesn't matter to them whether or not their furnishings are in style. What does matter is that their home is a refuge expressing warmth, comfort and vogue.  Light blue is their color of choice for home decor. Because this is a sign of acquisition, the Rat person's house is presumably bursting with various knick-knacks collected over the years. Most Rats are cheerful, domesticated individuals who find happiness at home with their family.

Romantic Clothes!

Last weekend Lauren wanted to go to the mall.  I wasn't planning on buying a thing but I followed her into Charlotte Russe which is not a store I usually shop in.  Next thing I know I see a rack with lace so I head straight over there!  Well...I fell in love with this lace vest!  It is adorable with a white tank top and jeans! I can hardly wait for the weather to warm up a little so I  can wear it!  The best part, it was on sale but I didn't know that until I went up the the cash register. It was normally $24 but I think I only paid $17! 

I must be on a lace clothing kick because I orderd this top below online from Boston Proper last week and just got it in the mail yesterday. I didn't have a chance to take a pic of mine so I'm showing you the catalog photo... I love this top! There are about a million other things I want from Boston Proper...I love their clothes!  Since I've lost so much weight I actually need to buy clothes! Haha...you like how I justify that?

Lauren and I stopped in Marshalls the other day and I found these adorable Betsey Johnson shoes on the clearance rack!  Only $29!!!! Unheard of for Betsey Johnson.  They are a little big, but only about 1/2 size but for that price I'm fine with that!

I love the hot pink underneath! So Chic!

Spring doesn't officially start for about another week and a half but it sure is beginning to look like Spring in my backyard!  The lilacs and roses are beginning to bloom!  I never even had a chance to prune my roses this year...oh well, they don't seem to mind!

 

Here is my one and only "Eden" rose that is blooming.

"Eden" is my all-time favorite rose!

 

 

I can't tell you how excited I was when I looked out the window the other day and saw pink! I went running out there to get a closer view!

 

Most of the lilacs are still at this stage....

 

...but a few are almost fully blooming

 

I also have 3 buds on my "Nancy Reagan" rose...

 

It's so wonderful to see the flowers blooming again!!!  Flowers make my heart sing!

Selling California...to Californians?

I'm sitting here watching TV tonight and this ad comes on about California.  Don't get me wrong...I love it, it's a great ad and I think it would sell me on visiting California but I already live here!  Why would they run this ad in California?  What a waste of money! My mind just goes to how this money could be spent on something more important....
