Mom, you'll be forever in my heart!!!

Pin It Now!

I've been trying to write this post for days and could not bring myself to do it.

The pain is still too great.

My wonderful mom passed away last week.  If you've been reading my blog awhile you probably have seen that so much of my style and love of vintage things has come from my mom.  I really would love to tell you more about how wonderful she was but I'm not ready to just yet...the pain is so strong. It's times like these that I'm glad my father has taught me to see the postive in things. I'm thankful that my mom had a 86 years here, that she and my dad had 65 years being married and that she knew she was loved and that she didn't have to suffer too much at the end!

I so feel your pain. My 93 year old Grandma...my favorite grandma, passed away March 12, so it is still new. Mom asked me, our of her five girls to give the eulogy and I didn't think I could do it, but I was able and glad that I could share with the people there how special she was and what I learned from her. I am so sorry for your loss. Terry

Cindy - sorry for the delayed comment - just checked in after being away several days. I am terribly sorry for your loss. I am very, very close to my parents as well, so my heart really is crying for you. She must have very proud to have you as her daughter. Really don't know what to say, typing it just seems so unpersonal. My love to you, your father and all your family. With love, Esther

Cindy -

I am so very sorry. I lost my mom in September and still there are many days I cry. Life is just so different, and I miss her SO much. Hold on to the memories and all the happy times. Be there for your dad. As sad as I have been, I cannot imagine losing my partner.

Give yourself time to grieve. Each person is different. We made it through the first Thanksgiving, Christmas, her birthday (Feb.), etc. Mother's Day will be hard. My heart goes out to you. It is so very hard. I will keep you in my prayers.

Oh Cindy, my heart goes out to you! I lost my Mom a year ago January, and my Dad just two months ago -- and while they lived good and long lives, I miss them terribly.

You will find yourself saying "I have to ask Mom," or "I have to show that to her," so very often --- I don't think we ever get used to their being gone.

Hugs -- Cass

Oh Cindy, my heart is hurting for you. I lost my mom 13 years ago. Right before she passed, she told me to let that part of her that was strong...be strong in me. I didn't think I could at the time...but now I know a part of her lives on in me...and I understand exactly what she meant. Love is coming your way with this email.

Oh Cindy - I am so sorry. I lost my Mom 5 years ago and nothing replaces her... but it is easier to think about the wonderful past memories now without breaking into tears. I still talk to her often..knowing that she hears me.

Have not told too many people this - but a few days after my Mom passed, I walked into the bathroom and I could smell her perfume. Thought I was nuts - so I drug my husband in and he confirmed it. (((Hugs)))

Cindy, I've been buried in work and am just now catching up on my blog reading. I am so very sorry for your loss. We only get one mother, and having lost my own mother I understand the pain you are now feeling. Like you I have focused on how lucky I was to have my mother for as long as I did and to cherish her love for all things beautiful which she passed along to me. Truly your mother must have been a wonderful woman to have created a daughter like you.

Cindy, you've been blessed......what a true blessing to have such a wonderful relationship with your mother. One who hasn't lost a mother can't even begin to imagine the pain and feelings of loss that one goes through in the aftermath of it all. I lost my mom at the young age of 64 when I was only in my early twenties. Looking back I was so unprepared for it. Yet, really, we're all unprepared for it, no matter the age. Just know that the devastation does indeed subside, all in good time. Hold onto those precious memories and know that she will ALWAYS be with you! May time heal your heart,

Blessings,

Kathleen

Just read your post and I am so deeply sorry to hear your Mom passed away. My parents are in their 80's and have been married for 65 years, and I count myself so blessed that they are still in my life! Please give your Dad my deepest sympathy. You and your wonderful children are a living tribute to your Mom, and I know she must have been so proud of you all. I know I'm a stranger to you, but I feel I know you from reading your blog, so I just had to send my cyber thoughts to you. May God strengthen you and your Dad throughout this difficult time, and may you find comfort in the wonderful memories of a loving Mom.

Oh Cindy -- I've just been catching up. I'm so sorry. Losing your mother is terribly hard -- a friend of mine said to me at my mother's funeral that when you lose your mom you lose your very first "best friend". So true. May God bless you with peace.
