Pinks and Aquas

Pin It Now!

Pretty pinks and aquas, originally uploaded by Romantic Home.
One of my favorite color combinations, pinks and aquas! I made this mosaic using some of my favorite photos on Flickr! (for photo credit, click on the mosaic)

I guess summer is officially over now that Labor Day has passed. Mother Nature listened this year and it's supposed to be about 15 degrees cooler today than it was yesterday here in Northern California! It usually never feels like the end of summer here until about mid-October! I like the cooler weather so I'm very happy!

I mentioned here a few months ago that I was planning to go back to school to study interior design this Fall. There has been a change of plans - I've realized that online dating is taking up more of my time than I expected! It's been a lot of fun and I've met some amazing men but it's really hard to find that special connection...that "chemistry" that is needed to get beyond that first date. So, for now my schooling is put on hold but I still plan on doing it in the future!

Updated to add:  I feel like I need to clarify my choice to choose dating over school as I stated above. First, I'm not looking to find a husband or "the right one".  If something more comes out of all this then that's great but I'm not going into this to find "the one and only".  I know a lot of people don't understand that way of thinking because they only think of marriage as the final result of dating.  After two divorces, I no longer feel that way.  I believe everyone has to do what feels right in their heart and right now I think dating feels like more fun that going to school.  I'm really enjoying the whole process of online dating!

Before I got married, my friend called me the one date wonder. The man I married I met in real life, not on line. Hang in there, but stay picky.

The pink and aqua are truly beautiful.. may I act as a "nanny?"
Don't put off going to school because of online dating...you'll find that your education/love of decorating should never be stalled or put on hold (with the exception of your child)..Men come and men go and usually when they go they oft times take more with them than you thought possible. Go for your dream and keep your creative energy channeled. You'll be more fulfilled and will offer much in a relationship rather than regrets.

Cindy~ beautiful mosaic, I love
the aquas and pinks. You hang in
with the dating. I do hope you
go to school for decorating because
that will be a cinch for you. You
probably can teach them something.
Good luck with whatever you do.":O)

My favourite colour combination too! Dreamy photos! My advice is to go to school and take Interior Design. You will be so good at it!
Your special man is out there and you will meet up with him whether you're in school or not. You're an attractive and talented lady and you want to be picky these days.

Blessings,
Sandi

Pink and aqua. When I was a girl, these were the first two crayons I pulled from the carton.

Hello Cindy, I love pink and aqua together. Very pretty. I think you should go back to school. You will regret it if you don't. I think you are very talented and have a lot to offer. Men come and go, we need to be here for ourselves and not give up our dreams for them. I wish you the best. Beverley

Love your mosaic! Exciting period you have in front of you now:)

I agree with homespun. I wouldn't put men that you're randomly meeting through an online dating service over doing something that you are good at and have planned on doing for a long time. No man is worth putting your own dreams aside for, much less a man you're only seeing one time. Who knows....maybe Mr. Right is to be found while you are studying or doing a interior decorator job. I really hope there are other issues holding you back besides the dating thing, but I do hope that you will be able to go back to school soon if decorating is really what makes you happy.

Love the aqua and pink pictures!

I'm not putting meeting men online ahead of school. It's just a choice that felt right at this time in my life. I'm not looking for a husband or even the love of my life...I'm just looking to date at this point!

I'm gonna go against the majority and said go ahead and enjoy dating. When I started dating the hubs I was going to school for Interior Design and had a full time job. He lived in NYC and I in NJ so we only got to see each other once a month. I made a choice to have fun, to enjoy my life, and to date. We are now married and school is not in the horizon for me, but I don't regret it. Enjoy life to the fullest, you can go to school at any time.

Do what makes you happy, Cindy. Always, but, I do kind of think that with your brilliance in decorating, a little formal training might be good. Maybe just one class at a time? Just thinkin'... Love the pink mosaic, naturally. :)

Cindy, the mosiac is beautiful and I love aquas and pink together also. Someday it would be fun to use them in the house but today is not that day. lol.

As far as your personal life goes, do both! School and date...If your enriching yourself, following your dreams, fulfilling your passions and getting an education; on top of all the other marvelous things you do and can offer a person in a relationship, why not make time for both. In the long run we still have only ourselves. Do what makes you happy and live without regrets. It thats choosing just one or the other then by all means follow your heart. We all just see so much talent and like good neighbors and friends are going to push you to succeed.

Blessings to you,
Shanna

Do what feels right to you and you can't go wrong. School will always be there. I had tons of fun dating before I met my 2nd husband, it was an experience both interesting and eye opening so enjoy...life is short:):):)

Hey Cindy! I think that the older I get, the less I see marriage as something I ever want again. Like you, I love my life! It would be fun to go on dates and have a special someone to snuggle with, but then I want him to go home! You are going to LOVE school! I did! I got one semester under my belt before I had to take a new (very demanding) job to take care of my family. It's your life, Sweetie. Enjoy it and do what you want!

Do what is best for you and dating sounds like fun. School will be there and you are so talented I am not sure you even "need" school to do design work. Some of best designers I know are self taught! You hae the eye for it already.

My husband and I met on Christian Cafe 8 years ago. We just celebrated our SEVEN year Wedding anniversary yesterday ! May you be as Blessed with the person you find to share your time with, whether it is companionship, marriage or whatever your heart desires. Dreams DO come true :)

Too bad you cant do both. A happy and fulfilled YOU makes a happier relationship, if I may be so bold to say. I two had been divorced twice and was DONE. But God had other plans for me :)

I LOVE pink and aqua too and the mosaic is really lovely ! Thanks for sharing :)

Cindy, I love the pink and aqua!! I am glad you have made a decision to do what makes you happy, other than what others expect you would do!! Never settle for less than your dreams!! Just saying.

You do not need to explain why you are not going to school. Life is a journey of experiences, so go for it, date all you want. Have fun and take care.

Michelle said...

You should have never opened that can of worms, somethings are better left out of the blog. You don't owe anyone an explanation, do what you want and keep your personal business, personal.

Bravo! You don't need to explain yourself.

If you are happy that is all that matters.

But...there's always a but....maybe you could take just one small class to test the waters.

After a horrid relationship and three years of getting beyond it, I stood before a mirror, my hand fisted against the sky and shouted "By God I AM going to be a bad girl and sleep with the first man I'm with tonight"....

My girlfriends roared at Miss Reserved so stating but as my husband and I celebrate our 23rd anniversary this November, I thank God that I opened myself up to the possibilities. Truth is, I didn't and he was the SECOND man I met that night but my heart was open and all those "You shoulds" were left behind. When I asked him what attracted him to me despite my all too attractive friends, he said there was something in my eyes....

Cindy, follow where your heart might lead. May you find Grace and love as I have.

Cindy,

I totally agree that you should do what makes you happy.......however, going to school will open additional doors for you both personally and professionally.

The further you cast your net, the more you stand to gain!

Good for you! Myself, at age 56, I finally figured out that the only person I need to please is me. I like to keep my family happy & content, but no one lives in my skin but me and I have to be true to myself. I find that as I get older, this gets easier to do and also to say what I feel (very therapeutic I might add). I love this time of my life (now if I could only lose a few pounds ;o]).

Seems to be a lot of experts out here Cindy:)!!~ You are the architect of your own life, do what feels right. You are enjoying it at the moment, live in the moment...life is way too short not to do what YOU want!!~ Honestly, IMO you do not need to go to school to be an interior decorator...if you are good at it, which you are, you are self taught. Put a portfolio together and see if you can get some jobs that way first. School is not only a lot of money at this time, how many people are paying for top interior designers these days. I think you have a better shot with your credentials as is. Again just my opinion, not putting down school.

Hi there,

Ever because moving to Australia just a little more than 5 years ago, my husband and me have definitely missed buying in those enormous retail clothing stores located in America. In unique, we loved shopping at Gap. It didn't take us extended to realize that Gap Clothes did not exist below in Sydney, let alone Australia! We have a little a single, and I can't even start to tell you guys how inexpensive Gap is for babies every one of the way up to adults. Properly... We use a remedy for you. We decided to commence up a blog writing about the recent trends of Gap in the US. You are able to stay on top with the latest fashion, styles, and colours while reading through our posts each and every week. Not just that, but we've found those people hidden spots where you are able to truly buy Gap apparel the following in Australia! I bet you didnt know that was even achievable :)

Anyway, if there is certainly any info you may need on Gap, or any other significant clothing retailer inside US, please let us know.

Let us know if you have any wonderful ideas for new blog posts!

Let us show you how to find Gap Clothing in Australia

If doing both together was definately out of the question, as that would be the best option, and I had to pick between romance and school.. I would pick romance. Being with someone for the last 22 yrs it would be easy to say... go to school but I have 3 single brothers (sorry, they're in Australia) and I know they would love to meet someone special. I did not marry till I was 29 so I know what it's like to want to have someone to share your life with or just have fun with! I think life is too short especially at our age... so you do what's in your heart and have fun doing it!! take care, Maryann
