On Sunday I went to my brother David's home for a BBQ. David is an amazing cook and his food is always great but this time he made a Cheesy Crab Bread that was to die for!!! I'm sure when I weigh in at Weight Watchers this week I'll be cursing this stuff but really it was so worth it! I was so tempted to make it again when I came home but I resisted the urge.
Cheesy Crab Bread
1 Cup of Mayonnaise
1 small container of Fresh Crab. (I think it's about 8 oz.)
1 Cup of Grated Cheddar Cheese (he used a really good aged cheddar)
1 Cup of Grated Mozzarella Cheese (or you can use Monterey Jack)
Some chopped scallions (green onions)
Dash of Old Bay Seasoning
Sourdough French Bread, sliced
Spicy Paprika
Mix the first 6 ingredients together. Toast the bread slices in the broiler. Mound up crab spread on top and sprinkle with the paprika and broil until hot.

Don't be offended but are you losing interest in your blog?I have been an avid reader and have noticed that you often skip a day and your posts have been lacking a little something, something for sometime yet.I understand it can't be easy to blog daily but perhaps, you ought to change the direction of the blog or start a new one for your other interests.
Angela.

No, I'm not losing interest in my blog, it's just that I'm not working on as many projects as I have in the past and I'm not buying as many new things since I have no more room! haha! After blogging for so many years it does become a challenge to come up with new things to blog about.
Ooh, that looks and sounds delicious. I will definitely have to give it a try! Thanks for sharing :)
This looks so good.
To bad you can't sample it though the screen.
Ciao
Hi Cindy, I think I will definately have to give the recipe a go! I love crab and cheese and anything melted under the broiler (or griller as we aussies say) I too have a brother named David and he gives recipes a go too, mainly sweet things though. I have to comment on anonymous(Angela's) comment...as I couldn't believe what she said and had to laugh in amazement. Doesn't she know that you have a life to live and it's not all about blogging, maybe she should get a life of her own! take care, Maryann
Yummy, I need to put crab on my shopping list so I can make this! It sounds scrumpdilli-icious!

Ooh, looks and sounds delicious. I love to collect recipes and now I have a new one. Thank you.
I have everything that it calls for but the crab. Might just have to go get some so I can try this delicious little appetizer! YUM!
OMG! I make this all the time, and it's always a hit...I substitute different cheeses depending on what I have on hand and use cream cheese as well. I also like to add some chopped roasted red peppers for a little extra flavor and color.
I love crab anything and this looks so good! I'll have to substitute some gluten free bread for this, but I am so buying some crab meat when I go to the store later this week so I can make this! Thanks for posting the recipe.
I don't even like crab and that bread looks DIVINE!
I'll just say YUUUUUUMMMMMMM! My daughter loves deviled crab, so we will have to try this one! thanks!
Tina,
My mouth is watering just looking at the pictures! Seafood (any kind) and cheese (again, any kind) are favorites of mine. You can't go wrong when you combine the two!
