Show and Tell

Pin It Now!

This week for Show and Tell I'm sharing what I bought with the $41 I took to the Alameda Flea Market last weekend. For $15 I bought these bottles that form a circle around a metal base. They aren't very impressive in the photo below but I knew with flowers they would be great! I only had gardenias still blooming in my garden so that's what's in there now but I think roses are going to look great!
Then for $5 I bought this old bottle with a pretty stopper in it (below). The stopper doesn't really go with the bottle which is why it was only $5 but I think it looks great!
Then for $18...it was actually priced at $20 but I got it for $18, is this cherub lamp! I had bought a soft pretzel for $3 so I only had $18 left, luckily she was willing to come down. This came from the same vendor as the bottle. I told her she had the best prices there! I'll be painting this heirloom white. I'm also going to rewire it to be safe! I have another one almost just like it but without the crystals.
I'm thrilled with my new purchases and I think I did great for $41...including the pretzel!

I'm so sorry, I've been so busy this past week that I didn't get to visit everyone that participated last week. There were a record-breaking 91 bloggers participating! Thank you all! I'll try to do a better job this week! I really appreciate all of you who join in!

Great job, Cindy! I've been wanting to get up to the Alameda Flea Mkt. forever!! One of these days....
You scored some terrific bargains. I love the way the bottles look with the gardenias.(How wonderful that you have them in your garden - I'm so envious!) I have candlesticks that look just like the base of your new lamp - I adore those angels! What great finds, and a fun day for you.
I'm so glad to be joining in on Show and Tell this week, thanks for hosting, I look forward to you stopping by.

Cindy,
You did great. Of course I love the cherub lamp and OMG the cloche I see to the left of the lamp with pearls and silver balls. I love the cloche with the etched glass, each time you show it I just would love to find one like that. That could not have been a flea market find. I love glass bottles. Would you believe I actually have a clear old fashioned root beer bottle with dried berries and ribbon on my dresser. There is just something about that I love and have never replaced it. Yes, your roses are gonna be awesome in your bottle. Love the glass stopper. Think it looks great like that with just a touch of ribbon. Have a great day!

Hi Cindy...
Oh my gosh sweetie, I have to tell you that you bought some serious purchases, including that darn pretzel and stayed at $41.00. I love a gal that can stay on budget at a huge sale like this one.

Oh my gosh I love that lamp, and I cannot wait to see how it looks when you are finished. I also love the bottles in a carrier. So cute.

The magnolias are so lovely in the bottles but I agree the roses will be that little bit of punch that you need.

Thanks for sharing sweetie. I have signed up to follow your blog. I can't wait to see what you share next. Please stop by and say hi. I would so love to have you visit. I would be honored to have you follow my blog as well.

Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

Anyway...I love your finds. Can't wait to see how you've refinished the light.

I'm a sucker for bottles and glass containers.

I recently tried etching glass containers with paint. They were easy and I thought what great gifts with goodies inside.

Haven't been able to blog or get on the internet, so this is a luxury for me this evening.

I sure wish I could have made the Eddie thing in Alameda, it would have been a fun day for sure.

Happy Birthday to Lauren !

I absolutely love the beautiful simplicity of the wire bottle arrangement and I think the gardenias look so elegant. I guess if you want more of the bottles to show roses would be a good choice. I think this is going to become one of your favorite pieces. I have an antique condiment holder that I have refitted with small glasses and love keeping it filled with herbs and flowers from my garden. The best part about a piece like this is that it does not take a profusion of flowers to make a powerful statement. Also love the cherub lamp and the bottle. I would love to shop with you, but I am afraid we love all the same things ~ but I'm sure we could get along just fine. I hope you have a great weekend, Cindy. ~jermaine~

Hi Cindy,
Love the great deals you got, especially the lamp. Would you mind sharing with us how you rewire an old lamp? I'm always afraid to buy them and never thought of doing that. Thanks so much! Bridgette

When I was visiting my daughter in New England, a friend of hers had similar bottles where she had put a branch of bittersweet in each one.

My daughter (who was an interior designer before having four children) looked at each other knowing that was one idea we were going to take home with us.

I love those kinds of bottles.
