Holiday Home Tour - My Dining Room

Pin It Now!

I'm joining in on Tracey's (Notes from a Cottage Industry) Holiday Home Tour today but I'm just sharing my dining room today so you'll have to come back to see the rest of my holiday decorating throughout the week!
I enjoyed my blue and white dining room Christmas tree so much last year that I decided to do it again this year! It's filled with blue and white dishes & teacups, silver spoons, chandelier crystals, lace snowflakes and blue and white napkins.
My mom gave me these small bottle brush trees. I added more glitter which doesn't show up on camera unfortunately. I went a little crazy with the plastic snow...it's everywhere this year, including my vacuum cleaner bag!
The light blue Christmas ball ornaments in my tiered dish are new this year. I found those at the thrift store for $2.00.

It looks like a winter wonderland but I had the back door and the windows open when these photos were taken. It was about 70 degrees outside which is a little warmer than average for this time of year!

Now head on over to Tracey's blog to see more on the Holiday Home Tour!

Cindy, as always, your home is an inspiration. I love the tree in the dining room. What a great idea. Now I've got a year long project to scour garage sales and thrift shops looking for things for my own tree. One can never have too many Christmas trees!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a wonder-filled New Year.

I love the chandelier crystals. I bought 50 of them 8 years ago before I moved overseas. They are compact to pack and look fabulous on a tree. They would be on my tree this year but I forgot when putting it together and didn't want to go back and add them. Thanks for sharing.

Cindy, I love, love your dining room! The tiered dish on your table is fabulous. I have looked for the plastic snow but so far haven't found any around here. I'm really excited to see the rest of your decorating. I've started mine but it takes days and so the house is a real mess right now! :-)

You just tickled me "blue" with your blue and white tree. I have loved your displays and your home since I found your blog, but this is the best. I am a blue and white gal and no matter how trends and colors change, I stay with what I love. Bottle brush trees are a favorite of mine. Love the way you displayed yours. I have some sherbert dishes I am going to dig out. Have a wonderful Christmas and I'll be back to see more.

Hi Cindy,
Your dining room looks lovely! There are so many pretty items to view; it’s hard to choose a favorite. The touches of silver sparkle are nice. I laughed when I read about your glitter explosion; I have it all over my white sofas at the moment!

Love, love, love your Christmas decor! So glad you brought back the the blue & white tree. I've got a little tree in one of my living areas that is themed around my current (changes frequently) color schemes - has yellow rick rack, orange daisies, red garland and a white pom pom garland. Yep, over the top! Can't wait to see the mother-in- law reaction I get on this one! ;) I am definately considered "the rebel" when it comes to decorating - and proud of it!

Hi Cindy
Everything just sparkles and looks so beautiful. I love the tree. I always do a small tabletop tree like that but some year I'm going to do a big one instead. I've definitely got enough blue and white for it!

I just to see your home decorated for the holidays. I think your tree in the dining room is the brilliant idea I've ever seen. I told my mother (who is as country as the day is long) that I was going to put her up a tree with her teacups and saucers on it. I told her I saw the most beautiful tree that I wanted to duplicate for her this year. Know what she said? "Whoever is out there putting cups and plates on their tree must really be off their rocker, if you ask me!" Country through and through I tell ya. I sent her the picture, and she wanted to know what magazine I got it from. "SO THERE! (I said), it IS worthy of your attention, huh?" Of course she told me to shut up. Anyhoo, thought you'd get a kick out of that. Thank you for the inspiration you continue to give us each and every day. And I WILL be doing that tree for my mother.
