I found an amazing shop! Actually they found me. Suzanne, the owner of "Move it Elsewhere" emailed me about her wonderful consignment shop and I am so happy she did! It's a very unique shop in that they sell things from senior citizens who are downsizing their homes. It's only open one weekend a month (Fri-Sun.) and I can hardly wait until next month! This shop is HUGE and I saw about a hundred different things I loved! Here's a look around (I should mention that all their prices are 50-65% off the sticker prices) ...
I meant to go back and get this cherub plaque and I forgot all about it until I uploaded the photos. It's marked $35 but it was 50% off. Hopefully it will still be there next month!
They had a huge milk glass collection...

I don't remember how I got to your blog, but I'm sure glad I did! That store is awesome, too bad I'm thousands of miles away--well, maybe that's actually a good thing! I could spend hours in that store, especially that top bargin floor. You do a great job decorating your apt., it's beautiful. I'll check out your Etsy store.
What an amazing store. So many wonderful items. I couldn't help feeling a bit sad about the previous owners though.
My grandmother moved from her home into a "home" she got rid of alot of her "dust collectors" as she called them.
I managed to have a few pieces to remember her by.
Thank you for posting this amazing store. It's nice to know that things can be passed from person to another and continue to be loved.

Okay, that milk glass collection had me drooling. And there's a picture down towards the bottom of the post where there's like a cool beachy looking piece, kind of like some sort of shell. I want that. And the candle stick behind it. And the white birds on that same shelf. HOld those for me!! :)

I also found this place a couple of months ago. It was a little overwhelming for me, didn't buy a thing! Now that I have "your eye" to show me what to look for, I'm so there next month. Maybe we could arrange to meet there; you could "hold my hand" and point me to the treasures... You clearly have a calling!!
That looks like a wonderful shop and I love that the seniors are benefiting from it. Seniors are having such a hard time in this economy.

Hi Cindy, I have been reading your blog as often as I can. I think you have been so blessed by the exposure you have gotten. Anyhow... I love the idea of the "Move It Elsewhere". That is such a cool idea, and a great way to help out a segment of society to unload "valuable" collectables. It's great. Why are they only open one weekend a month? That seems highly unlikely to be able to make enough profit (especially being a consignment based business) to pay rent, utilities, and insurance... let alone have $$ leftover to "spend". How on earth do they do it? Thank you so much for sharing such cool pics.

How I wish I could visit that store. I hope it gives the elderly a good feeling to know that their items are going to be loved and treasured by another generation. I think I would be happy about that, or rather, will be some day. You have a lovely blog and your posts are quite interesting to read.
What a beautiful and fortunate find. You don't mind paying the price when you know it is help someone move onto a new life style and that you are giving their treasures a new life too.
That's one of those stores you can't just run in on your lunch hour and shop. It would take awhile to look at everything. It's probably a good thing I don't live in No.Calif. I would be broke. lol.
