Mmmm Martha's Monkey Bread

Pin It Now!

A friend and I were talking about Monkey Bread the other day and I couldn't stop thinking about it all week so I got up early on a weekend morning and started making it. Lauren woke up just as it was almost done and the sweet scent of cinnamon and yeast bread was filling our apartment.

This with a hot cup of coffee was such a wonderful weekend breakfast treat! I used a Martha Stewart recipe and it can be found here.
And don't forget to vote today if you haven't already! (I ask that you please not leave any comments about which candidate you voted for in my comments because I will delete them. My blog is not a political blog and I believe in keeping it bipartisan here.)

Your monkeybread looks so yummy! I haven't had that in years. I will have to bake some for me and my boys. I bet it makes the whole house smell good. Come visit sometimes.

Yes, I will definitely vote. You are right not to allow anyone to voice their political opinion on YOUR blog. There's enough of this nonsense in the media. Now, back to decorating ... you are the best. Joanne

That's it, I'm going to make some right now.

Looks very tasty! I voted! I went at a midday hour and still waited an hour to vote. That is amazing for our county! I think people are actually wanting to be counted today!

Yummmy!!!! Makes my mouth water. I voted earlier today, rather painless task here luckily. Gotta love this wonderful country where we can vote, write blogs, and envy others Monkey Bread!

I've never heard of it either, but it looks scrumptious!!! I'm usually afraid of yeast, but I've gotta give this a try! Okay, confession time: I'm such a horrible cook that I make pop'n dough cinnamon rolls placed in the shape of a Christmas Tree on a cookie sheet for Christmas morning, but maybe, just maybe this year will start a new tradition!!! Thanks for the recipe!

My brother used to just love monkey bread! Maybe I should make some for him for Christmas. I've never tried to make it before! I'll have to check out the recipe.

And THANK YOU for not allowing any political arguments on your blog. That's why I am moderating my comments for the first time, and although I have said who I am NOT voting for, I've tried to remain as non-partisan in my posts as possible. There are some blogs that I love, but that I cannot even read today because they are so politically biased, and kind of mean!

That sounds like the perfect way to start off next weekend! With the weather finally cooling down, a house scented with cinnamon is just about right. ::Jill

That looks so delicious! I love that you take the time to put it on a beautiful plate and make everything a special occasion. And thank you so much for the non-partisan commenting. I voted but I am so sick of politics that I just turned off the TV and I'm going to climb into bed with a ginormous cup of hot chocolate and a good book. Hubby is in Japan so he won't mind.

Good Morning Cindy! Your bread looks wonderful!! I cheat when I make the Monkey bread... I use canned biscuits and put cream cheese inside of each bite...so mine is really Gorilla bread. I got the recipe from Paula Deen.It is really good! It was actually one of the first to go at the cake walk at the fall festival at our church! God Bless you!!

My kids used to love to make a simplified version of this by using refrigerator biscuits. Little pieces of biscuit were pinched off, rolled in sugar & cinnamon and put in a bundt pan. Then melted butter was poured over the top. A little easier for little people, but this one looks delicious!
I love your blog.
