Decorating with Shells

Pin It Now!

The shells that were in my tiered dish on my dining room table are now in my French beverage dispenser. Can you tell I thrive on change! See the picture frame above, I bought that at Marshalls months ago and I still haven't replaced the photo that came in it. The other day Lauren walked by it, stooped down for a closer look and said "WHO IS THAT?" I just started laughing and said "I don't know!"

Hey, let's face it...sometimes the fake people in the frames are just better looking than our family members! :)Kidding!
I LOVE to keep the ones that look vintage, they are so cute, so what the heck??!!

I love that beverage container. I've thought about getting one that was like it but I didn't know where I would put it. I just think it would be so pretty with lemonaid in there and have fresh lemons floating in it.

You made me laugh about that picture in the frame. That is something my mom used to do years ago. Thanks for the memory jolt.

Hugs,
Joanne

Hi Cindy,
I'm all about changing things too or tweakin as I say. Love the jar with the shells.

Hugs,
LeAnn:)
P.S. I have a really cute beachy picture frame on my bedside table with the picture that came in it. Gotta change that one of these days.

The shells look nice in the beverage container. You should have told Lauren it was a picture of a long lost great aunt who was leaving you millions!

Hey, I've been collecting antique frames/pictures of "antique" people because I'm making up some "family!!" Ha-ha. Too many kids and grandchildren for anything to have been passed down my way!!! So, I'll embellish our family he-he.

I'm still working on collecting shells. I have lots and lots of coral from the carribean, but adding shells to that.

Blessings,

Sher

I have two pictures of I Don't Know in our guest room. I guess we should at least name them. ;-)

I like how you used the beverage container like an apothacary jar! Great idea.

Just tell Lauren it's an adopted relative. I have a small dispenser like that. It came in handy during the hot days, filled with ice cold water with lemons.

your daughter always sounds like such a hoot! maybe one day you could have her write a segment on what it's like living with your love for the romantic style...i'm very curious to know what she thinks about her mom always having so many projects going on and constantly changing the house up.

i personally would love to hear from her. i'm sure sometimes it's VERY difficult having a teenager in the house, but it seems like for the most part you have been very lucky.

have a great day!

love the beverage dispenser - I have been looking for one of those to use at my daughter's baby shower - did you happen to find that at Marshall's by chance!!!!

The shells are beautiful. I think you should put a picture of Lauren & Beau in the frame...

What a great idea for the jar. I love Marshall's too!

Good luck on your wallpaper project. Priming with Kilz wallpaper primer might be a good idea and then using a level mark a straight line of where you want to start. If the first sheet is straight it will make it easier. Now if you are in an older home with uneven walls, that's a challenge (trust me). But your pattern looks busy which is good, it will hide any mistakes you make. Best of luck.

I remember as a child asking my mother "who buys those frames with pictures of people they don't even know?". They never seemed to have any frames with our pictures in the store, LOL.

Hi Cindy,
Great use of the beverage container, the shells look great and then when you need it for entertaining you can take them out and add punch!
Aren't the kids something, they wonder about our sanity with the oddities we decorate with, my boys wonder ABOUT SOOOOO MANY THINGS I DO!!!!

Hugs,
Donna Lynn

I live near the beach and I use shells for decorating in two bathrooms. But I bought them! I can never find good shells on my beach.

I love the beverage container! How beautiful it is with the shells. My daughter on occasion was known to change out photos without you knowing. She spent a week with my sister one summer and much to my sister's surprise Harrison Ford appeared in frames all around her house. One of my girlfriends buys old photos at yard sales and has a hallway of framed vintage photos. She calls them her family. It makes for great conversation. Kinda fun!

I remember the other day you said you named your daughter after Ralph Lauren because you love his style. I named my daughter(10yrs old) Ashlee Lauren, because I always loved "Laura Ashley". Too funny!

Great way to display your seashells! Mine are in an antique trug on the coffee table. I admire your Marshall's determination for those plates!
