Sunday Evening

Pin It Now!

Last night my daughter was spending the night at a friend's house....I was home alone. It was a small glimpse of how I'm going to feel in a few years when I become an empty-nester. It's lonely, too quiet and I suddenly feel the need to find a mate. For now though I'm going to enjoy the time I do have her at home with me. The dating and finding a mate can wait...

I was watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition and I went to the kitchen to get something and as I walked back to the couch I stopped and sighed at the beauty of the warm glow of the chandelier, the candles and the patio lights. I ran up stairs to get the camera so I could share it with you.

The empty nest can be a bit quiet even if you have a partner. My last post is about our empty nest.

Absolutely lovely photo, Cindy. Your dining room is so beautiful! I have a feeling even if you served hot dogs and potato chips they would taste so much better because of the exquisite surroundings.

I have been wondering, would you mind if I saved your photo's to my computer for my own personal use and enjoyment (as a slide show screen saver, for example). You're a great photographer and you have a gorgeous house.

Thank you for sharing with us!

Cindy, I remember when my son had moved out and daughter was getting ready to....thought I would not be able to STAND being alone. A friend told me there would come a time I would cherish my alone time (I thought she was crazy at the time) but she was right. Don't get me wrong, there were times I wished I had someone to talk to, go out to eat with, BOND with, but I had my family, friends, job and love of decorating that all kept me quite busy. I did meet my now hubby and we've been married almost 5 years now but sometimes I long for just a little time to myself. If it's meant for you to find a mate, you will. You are a beautiful, sweet, talented woman and I'm sure men will be knocking down your door!

Judy

P.S. Can't wait for the magazine spread on your "Romantic Home"!

Did you leave the chairs plain white or did you glaze them?

How beautiful your room looks Cindy. It's nice to have a "mate" as long as it's the "right mate" you'll know when you're ready again, once you are I bet they'll be linning up at your door! Before you accept him you must make sure he doesn't mind you blogging, goodness what would we all do without you!

Lovely pictures. Looks so romantic. You're absolutely right, it'll be empty when the children moves out, but that's life. After some time you can appriciate the fact that you can do whatever you want to do instead LOL.
Hope you're having a great Tuesday.
Love Elzie

Hope: Yes you can download my photos for personal use. The resolution is not very high so I'm not sure how great they will work for backgrounds on your computer. The only one that is really high resolution is the "breakfast in bed" photo that I did at the end of Dec. 2007 under the post "New Years Resolutions" I have that one as my computer background.

Simply stunning. So nice to enjoy views such as this through you. I know the feeling of quiet, no wait, that was the sound I heard before the other shoe dropped! HA! Seriously, they do leave us with a bit of longing when they are gone. Enjoy the time with her, and the quiet!

Speaking for living alone....I love it! I can have company whenever I want, and I treasure the time alone. And just to look at the other side, not too many men will love your decorating style like we all do!! The gorgeous white chandelier might be the first thing to go....
