Mmm...Peanut Butter Cookies

Pin It Now!

I love this recipe for Peanut Butter Cookies. It's from my Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook that I bought it 1979.

Peanut Butter Cookies
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Thoroughly cream butter, peanut butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla.
Sift together dry ingredients; blend into creamed mixture. Shape in 1 inch
balls; roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie
sheet*. Make crisscross pattern on top with a fork tines. Bake
at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool slightly; remove from pan.
Makes 4 dozen.

*I always line my cookie sheets with foil, shiny side up because it
makes the cookies turn out more evenly browned.

I have gotten in the habit of "stopping by" every day just to have 10 minutes of something beautiful to look at. You keep spending that money since you seem to have a knack for finding just the right things at the right price!

Thanks for sharing this recipe. Peanut butter cookies are so good. Spreading a thin layer of your favorite jelly on top of them adds to the goodness:-).
