I was so surprised that many of you left comments saying you never heard of a flocked Christmas Tree. I guess it must be more common for states that don't have snow to do this. I decided to get the flocked tree so I could share it with those of you who have never seen one. Basically it's a spray on white fluff that hardens on the branches and looks like snow. It's a little hard to see in the photographs. I should have taken a picture before I decorated it.
You can have the tree completely covered with flocking so that it's all white and you don't see any of the green. I chose to have medium tips done. It's sort of a light dusting of snow. The guy at the Christmas Tree lot did a great job.
I love the old world style glass ornaments so every year I try to buy a few more. Also every year I buy my kids an ornament so someday when they have a place of their own they will have a good start on decorating their own tree. Then my tree will look bare!
Along with the ornaments I have nests snuggled in the branches.
I'll have some more Christmas decorating pictures this week!

Have a happy Week.
crystal :)
It is simply wonderful! Just like a winter wonderland.
Oh Cindy, that's beautiful! I love all those blown glass ornaments! I give my kids an ornament each year, too, and I don't want to think of the day when they take all those ornaments to their new homes! I'll be osing the kid and the ornaments -- boo hoo...
Can't wait to see more!
xoxo,
Mary
Cindy,
You tree is magnificent... I love the three ribbons flowing down..just lovely.
I flocked a very small fake tree for my office... it turned out cute
Linda's Blue Gate
It's beautiful, Cindy! I like the way you had the flocking done on the tips and not completely covered. When "real" snow falls on the trees the biggest part of it falls off very shortly leaving clumps on the tips. So yours looks very natural. Beautiful job trimming the tree too!!
Cindy, Your tree is beautiful! I love the way a flocked tree looks. soooo pretty!
aha...now I know what flocking is.... It makes it very beautiful. I have seen artificial trees with snow on ... but not heard of it for the real thing, alhtough downtown in the Gucci tree lots..who knows?
You are probably correct... here in the north we have snow outside to look at...who needs in the front room too? lol today snowing lightly... and -20C ..... brrr....
Wow, Cindy, living here in Michigan I have never heard, or seen a flocked tree either. It's beautiful. It looks just like the 14 large pine trees I have in my back yard, which are covered with snow!
Blessings,
Sher
It looks so beautiful Cindy and I like the flocking idea - I'd not heard of it either.
Your ornaments are lovely and I like the idea of little nests in the branches. Doubtful we'll have a white Christmas in the Piedmont area of North Carolina this year, altho' it has happened a few times since moving here. The Western NC mountains had snow on the hightest elevations at Thanksgiving - so pretty.
I put up a tree in the gazebo this morning and all my outdoor lights - hope to get pics later after dark.
Love your tree. You did a great job decorating it. If you want snow come to NH-we got 6 inches overnight and it is still snowing. It looks so pretty.
Cindy, your tree is an absolute masterpiece. I just love it and the flocked ones are so pretty. I love that you loaded it with ornaments. With the lights sparkling on it, it looks just like a snowy wonderland.

I must admitt Cindy I didn't know what flocking was either, I now do and I must say it looks stunning. You've done a beautiful job of decorating it, I love the way you've cascaded the ribbons, the decorations are so beautiful!
Wow what a fabulous tree! Your decorating is magnificent!!
Sadly, we've been using an artificial tree since moving into this house. Our old home had a large sunroom with tile floors and tall ceiling so we would buy the largest real tree possible. I don't see people doing flocked trees here, unless I'm not paying attention.....which is entirely possible. LOL
Anyway, I love your flocked tree and ornaments. Christopher Radco?
Nan
Nan, I only have one Christopher Radko ornament which I found at a discount store (Tuesday Mornings). I love his ornaments...I wish I could afford them!
When I was a kid, growing up where there was plenty of snow, we often had flocked trees. We did them ourselves with a can of ... you guessed it ... "flock". Right in the house.
I think it was my mom's dream to have one "professionally flocked." She would have loved yours. Thanks for the memory.
SPECTACULAR! I love Christmas trees when they are loaded with ornaments. I must say that I was surprised to see your main color was RED! For some reason, I would have predicted..umm...blue! Blue and silver or blue and gold. The flocking was definitely worth the wait, don't you think?.
I've seen flocked trees since I was child in the mountains of Oregon where we had snow every winter - all winter. I have memories of "do-it-yourself-at-home-in-the-garage" kits that some of our friends tried. The biggest problem was what their garages looked like afterwards!
Your tree is gorgeous. Do you want to come and help with mine? My sweetheart is home from work with the flu today so it's not the day to ask him to bring everything down from the attic. Soon - real soon - maybe.
~Adrienne~
Cindy,
The tree looks beautiful! I also was surprised to see a lot of red.
I received my strawberry ornaments today from Sur La Table today! They are beautiful! I thought they were smaller. I don't believe it actually said the size they were on the order sheet. They are 7" at the widest part on top, and 4" from top to bottom. And made in Poland! Thanks for sharing Cindy! Did you order them also?
You did an amazing job Cindy. It is really beautiful!
What a pretty tree! I like all the ribbons, the white with the red design is my favorite. The tree had just the right amount of flock on it, they did a good job. I can't wait to see all the other pictures you post.
ginger
Debbie, No I didn't order them yet! Wow, they sound huge!
Oh your tree is lovely.... I remember flocking our tree when I was a kid. We mixed Ivory Snow (flakes) with....something, maybe water and beat it with a beater until it looked like snow and then sort of spooned it onto the tree. None of the businesses flock trees around here but your sure is inspiring!!!
Very pretty! The flocking makes it look like snow and I love that.
Manuela
This is simply gorgeous! I love the flocked tree. How beautiful.
Beautiful! Now, I REALLY want a flocked tree! We had them many times when i lived in California!
Tracey
I'm a huge flocked tree fan, and totally adored yours!
BTW, you had asked me if the runners up from my decorating contest had blogs. Jennifer H, Cathy and Amy all have blogs. If you look at my "The winner is" post on my blog, and mouse over their names & click, it will take you to their blogs.

Cindy:
I love your flocked tree. I too live in California and we don't get much snow so I love how the flocking makes it seem like life in the midwest...
I am decorating my tree with gold and burgundy colors. I got some great ideas from your tree...
Thanks for sharing, I always love to drop in and see what's going on in your "Romantic Home"
Debbie Kennedy
I like the look of a lightly flocked tree. My friend puts red cardinals on hers and it's so pretty.

Your tree is absolutely beautiful!! It is making me anxious to get our family room tree up (that is decorated with all kinds of ornaments we've collected through the years).....
:)
Your tree is absolutely stunning Cindy!
Penny
BEAUTIFUL! I love flocked trees I guess it would be weird to think about flocked if you were standing in 10 inches of snow...lol!
Your tree is gorgeous! I haven't had a flocked tree since I was a kid, and I was thinking just this year I might try to do it. They used to see the stuff at the store in a can, I wonder if they still do?
~Angela :-)
I do remember those flocked trees...haven't seen one on a long time. It's very very lovely!
Blessings,
Robin
Hi Cindy, I didnt know what it was either as they dont do that to our chrissy trees here in Australia. Wish they did as it looks fantastic! I love your idea about giving your children a chrissy decoration each year too, might have to borrow that idea I think!
Alicia ~ time worn style

Great! Now I know what a flocked tree is. Looks lovely. I've never heard anyone doing that job here in Sweden though. And all of your tree looks lovely. I have never understood how you can decorate them so lovely. I try, but there must be a miss somewhere LOL.
Hope you're having a great Tuesday.
Love Elzie
I haven't seen a flocked tree in years! Reminds me of when I was a kid. We do the same thing with children & ornaments each year. I can't bear to think of a bare tree when they're gone!
Hi Cindy, your tree looks great! My three boys all have a box of ornaments that someday they will take to a home of their own too - we will have to go shopping together to fill in the gaps on our naked trees! LOL
Oh. My. Goodness. That is a breathtaking tree.
That is too cool! I remember seeing the spray stuff in the can that you can buy for "flocking" but I didn't know what it was called. I honestly didn't think that was a real tree it's so perfect! Well Done my dear.
I, also, have never heard of a flocked tree...it is simply stunning though!
Your flocked Christmas tree is just breathtaking! My parents actually have a flocked tree. I think they are just wonderful. Your ornaments just give everything that final crowning touch! Thanks for sharing! Amy
