Kitchen Plates

Pin It Now!

I still haven't painted the kitchen but I think I have the color picked out. It a soft gray-blue and I'm going to paint the cabinets white. They're a beige color now and they just look drab and I'm going for fresh and clean! I'm off work for 2 weeks at Christmas so I plan to paint it then. Around the soffit area I'm going to hang blue and white plates. Here's what I have so far. I still need about 7 or 8 more so the hunt is on!

Above is a Victorian Kissing Ball that I made last Christmas. I put it on my blog then but my camera was not working very well so you could barely see it. I used a styrofoam ball that I covered with moss and then pushed in some red and green faux hydrangeas and attached some ribbons. I have it hanging in my kitchen this year.

Love your blue and white plates. I have a few also. Can't wait to see your kitchen when it's redone. I notice your blackboard/silver tray on the wall. I've been looking for one and won one on E-bay for 99 cents, less than $5 with shipping. Hope you don't mind if I copy your idea. Imitation is the best form of flattery you know :>)

How exciting--a 2 week vacation! Although you should be relaxing on your vacation instead of doing something as labor-intensive as painting your kitchen, I know it will be a "labor of love" for you and you'll be happy when you feel your kitchen is fixed up as pretty as the rest of your home. The plates look wonderful and I really like the look of the varied sizes.

Nan, no prospects! It's close to the front door so I'm hoping Mr. Right comes a knockin' soon!

I am a lot like that. I am happiest when I am either planning a project or right in the middle of one! I cannot wait to see the results.

Love the blue and white Cindy.
My daughter's little flower girls carried kissing balls at the wedding.
They are really cute.
Can't wait to see the finished kitchen.

Oh cindy, I did blue and white in my kitchen and dining room for years and although I have gone more taupe and mocha, I still enjoy the blue and white dishes on a lovely table once in a while. Enjoy your 2 weeks off and happy painting...

Cindy, as you probably know, I love blue and white plates, too. Ebay is a fabulous place to pick up some really nice ones. I am finding fewer and fewer at thrift shops but still, every now and then, I get lucky! Good luck on finding some you love.
I like your kissing ball !!
