Groupings

Pin It Now!

I put some faux sugared fruit under my cloche and put it on top of my favorite cake stand. I just hope no one lifts that cloche up...there will be fruit rolling everywhere! I also bought some meringue cookies for my large glass candy dish.

(Click each photo to enlarge)

I like the glass jars all grouped together. Now that I'm looking at this I should probably add another jar because the design rules say you should have odd numbers! Or does that tureen make it an odd number? I'm sure that's not the only design rule I've broke, I think my home is full of design no no's. I just decorate with what I like.

Do you ever watch that show on HGTV, "Designed to Sell"? The mother/daughter real estate experts, Donna and Shannon Freeman crack me up! I'm sure if they walked in my place they would be saying...OH NO, YOU HAVE WAY TOO MUCH STUFF GOING ON IN HERE!

Isn´t that the way decorating should be all about?, to use what you like and not the way some "rules" says. Who decided on these rules anyway???
I just adore your home Cindy and I know there´s many more out there.
Keep decorating "the Cindy Way"...

Love, Ulrika

Love the glass arrangements...your home is perfect the way it is Cindy. Donna and Shannon - also say there is a difference between living in a home and selling a home.

Cindy,

Your home is wonderful. Every detail, both large and small, was carefully chosen and works perfectly. You have amazing style!

I love the glass arrangement. It's so artistic and beautiful.

Whats hysterical is...I'm home with a sick kid and catching up on blogs and TV. As I'm reading this...guess what's on?!? Our boy Clive! Too funny! I say decorate for how you live- not for the next guy. Worry about that when it's time to sell!

What a delightful web-site! I find it quite motivating. Please keep up the good work!

You have our permission to WRITE YOUR OWN RULES. Your house is cozy and beautiful, so don't worry about any rules some unknown person came up with.

Enjoy what you have - like you ALREADY are doing. :)

Meringue cookies look beautiful in that jar! Not sure if it is their unique shape or texture ..or maybe both..but really eye catching.

So funny that you mentioned Donna/Shannon Freeman (have you seen their new show, Secrets That Sell)? I have them in my head all the time because I just finished getting me old house ready for the market--I'm having a really hard time loosening up and allowing myself to have the leven of "stuff" that I want to get that fabulous layered look like you do so well. I've got to remember to tell those two to get out of my head!

WAY TOO MUCH STUFF GOING ON IN HERE - isn't that the only way to decorate. I don't think I know of any other way.
Love all your glass jars and cloche.
Your home is devine.

Hi Cindy,
Everything looks beautiful. Love all your jars filled with goodies.
I say decorate the way you want. It's your home and you do a beautiful job. They also say that your home reflects who you are. I'm not really sure what mine says about me and all my STUFF!!
Have a great day,
Hope

If that'a what they would say about yours then Im in deep trouble! Some rules are meant to be broken!
It is what works for you, and what you feel comfortable with. I tried the minimalist for 6 months.I had things packed away whilst renovating, and I had gradually replaced all the missing things without even knowing, I just need my STUFF around me!

I would get that exact same comment at my home Cindy, WAY too much stuff going on, but I aint going to change lol! How did you get that sugared fruit to stack up like that in the first place before putting the glass top on? Everytime I try they fall out again!

Your soup tureen makes 5! Kenneth Brown says you shouldn't leave your table set, but I do. I live here, not him. LOL
Your vignette looks great, sweetie.
Have a good one.

Love the way you decorate, who cares what that mother/daughter real estate team thinks. . . it's only what you think that's important (unless, of course, you're selling your home :)

Aha dear Cindy, but the HGTV ladies do not understand what makes a home warm and beautiful to live in! I KNOW what they would say to me!!
I love your cloches and jars...you always do such beautiful arrangements and your photos are worthy of a Hallmark card!

Sue

Oh my gosh Cindy,
I love your idea of the goodies in the cloches. The meringue cookies are my daughter's very favorite so I hope you don't mind me borrowing your wonderful idea.

It's funny, I always think that about that show too, everything would have to go, but I like it just the way it is. What is the saying more is more?

Cindy,
I had no idea there was someone out there who decorated and felt exactly as I do. Your style is amazing and I don't know about you, but I feel "odd" if I am not surrounded by my treasures (stuff)

Keep the ideas comin, I'm definetly stealing the meringue cookies for my apothecarty jars!!!

Love,

Debbie Kay

Your design looks balanced to me. Since you have those scones on each side of the mirror, I think it's O.K to have two glasses containers on each side and then the tureen adds a different element to keep it from looking too perfect.

Beautiful...I love what you do with those glass jars! Great idea using the cloche and cake stand.

I watch all those "for sale" shows as my farm is for sale. Thankfully it is the land people will be looking at and not my house. I have a lot of stuff, but not nearly as much as I will have when I decorate my next home.

Thanks for all the inspiration!

Thankfully you don't have to have those women in your home LOL. I think you have a great home.
I hope you have a great Wednesday.

I think there is a difference in the way you present a home to sell and the way you present your home to your family and friends. I think you have a beautiful home and your decorating style is just awesome! I love everything. You are blessed with a talent. I think that anyone coming into your home would love to live there! Family, friend or buyer!
Beautiful Cindy!

Cindy, I do the same thing...I often walk into one of my rooms and think...WHOA..this is waaay over the top. But, if it's what we like, I say go for it. Your home is beautiful and YOU and that's the way it should be! Donna and Shannon actually DO NOT know it all, like they want you to think!! haha....

Hi Cindy,
I love those glass jars. You got me inspired....I purchased a tall one a couple of months ago at Marshalls, a medium size one at Michaels and a smaller one at a thrift store. The tallest one is filled with lemons (fake ones I purchased at Walmart). My husband thought they were real and ask me what I was going to do when they go bad! LOL :)

Keep up the great ideas and I hope you recovered fully from your burn accident!

Well I don't care what they would say I really, really like it. Your home is a true inspiration!
