It's a frosty morning in Northern California

Pin It Now!

It 's a cold, frosty morning here. It was down to the mid 30s last night. I just hope it didn't kill some of my plants last night. I meant to cover my azaleas and gardenias and I forgot!

The frosty photos above are from other Flickr members. Aren't these photos gorgeous!

Cindy,

Those flowers look like they have been dipped in sugar and are ready to be the topper on a glorious cake.

oH, yes, they really are beautiful. All look as if they were dipped in the same sugar that sugar plums are dipped in! Thanks for sharing.

Cindy, I thought about you when I heard that northern Caifornia was getting hit with a storm. But I guess the mountains got the snow, and you just got the frost! :) The pictures are gorgeous!

Have a wonderful Christmas!

Beautiful pictures, Cindy!! My plants didn't do well this year at all because we had a late spring frost that killed everything that had started to bloom. Then we had a very dry summer on top of that. Now we need to have snow to help replenish the water but so far just a few flurries!!
Thanks for sharing the pics!
Hugs,
Hope

Hi Cindy,

I can't believe the similarities between us...last Spring I also picked up dining room chairs from the curb. I am trying to work up the nerve to paint the hutch/table/6 chairs white, as you have done, and you gave me a little more courage. They look lovely!

Also, on December 10th, which happens to be my birthday, you posted photos of your kitchen, which looks eerily like mine! I also have it painted grey/blue and white (although it needs another coat of paint)and have plates hanging. You mentioned needing extra plates for your wall. Would you be interested in an antique Blue Willow plate? I'd be happy to send it to you. I really enjoyed your blog! - Kim

I love visiting your blog to see what beautiful photo you will have today. It's always a delight! I loved the little blue cup & saucer on the previous blog and those chairs are fabulous. I am always telling people what a difference some white paint makes. I'll bet you're glad that you didn't leave them on the side of the road. Hope you have a Merry Christmas.

Those are spectacular shots of the little elf Jack Frost at his most artistic. What a magical look at the cold! I love your blog and am so grateful to have found it. Your touches of elegance and honesty simply enchant my weary spirit, and I think... yeah, we can do this life in a beautiful way... I think of your pillows tied in satin ribbon, and I believe.... Thanks for your hard work to make our lives more Romantic and beautiful... Be warm and happy this Christmas.

Those are gorgeous. And it HAS been icy cold here, hasn't it? I think frost is about as close as we are going to get to snow around here. I hope you and your family have a peaceful and joyous Christmas Cindy.

Beautiful pictures, it's nice that you were able to document the frost. I hope your azaleas will be okay. Take a picture of them when they bloom.
