Coffee, Coffee, Coffee!

Pin It Now!

If you are a Gilmore Girls fan, the title of this post may ring a bell. I (like Lorelai Gilmore) am a huge coffee lover! The little espresso cup above is new. Last week my group at work went out for our annual department Christmas lunch. After lunch we ordered coffee and one of my coworkers ordered espresso and it came in this adorable blue and white cup. I bet you're thinking I stole this aren't you? No, I didn't..I would never do that! My coworker suggested that I tell the waiter I love this cup and he will probably give it to me. He said his father-in-law does it all the time and he's always getting free things from restaurants. I'm not that bold! At all! So, my boss asks the waiter if I could have it! What a nice boss, huh? The waiter goes to ask his manager and comes back and says we can have it for $16. No thank you! I like it, but not for $16! but before I could even get that out, my boss tells him to wrap it up. This little cup and saucer was a gift from my boss.

The cappuccino cup above is from the Macy's Martha Stewart collection. I just bought one and figured I would go get a few more...I still need to do that. I usually drink my coffee black but every once in awhile I like a good cappuccino. I used to have a coffee maker that had a regular coffee pot and an espresso maker. The problem was the machine would run out of steam before I could get the milk foamed. I recently found a much better (and less expensive) way to make cappuccinos...
A stovetop espresso pot and a aerolatte battery-operated milk frother. I heat my milk in the microwave and froth it with this handy little device. You can't believe the amount of foam you can get with this thing....so much better than my old espresso maker! I usually like Peet's Italian Roast Coffee but this Trader Joe's is pretty good and a lot less expensive.

Cindy what a wonderful boss to get that sweet little cup for you.
I will definitely have to try your way of making a cappuccino, I am so over the coffee machine. So much washing and fiddling around and then the froth never seems to work.
Have a fun Christmas with your kids.

I love the way coffee smells, but could never quite like the taste! Love your cups, though. And what a nice boss you have!

Have a very merry Christmas!

What a nice little cup and saucer. I have a vintage set that is very similar. That was so nice of your boss to purchase it for you. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

That blue & white cup & saucer is so "you" that I can't imagine you not owning it so I'm glad your boss gifted you with it. Very nice!

I suspect many bloggers will be taking a Christmas "vacation" soon so, just in case you will be taking a break too, I wanted to extend my wishes now to you and your family for a lovely and joyful Christmas. :)

Cindy,
Great cup, but I don't suppose you will "Service for Eight" anytime soon!! I have never been a cappucino lover, but I have discovered the mochas at SBC, and I am addicted. I am sorry to say it is as much about the whipped cream as it is about the choc/espresso.

I like the Trader Joe's Bay Blend for my everyday coffee.

As many times as I have tried coffee, I still do not care for it...nor do I like coffee ice cream, chocolate covered coffee beans ...etc. etc.

You must have a great boss though! Merry Christmas!

I LOVE the Gilmore Gils I'm rewatching it now through Netflix since I missed the first year and a few episodes here and there. Although I don't know how she ever got any sleep drinking so much coffee and at night!

That MS cup is so pretty!

My dd is home from school for the next two weeks so I'm taking some time off from blogging until after Christmas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

xoxo,

Manuela

Don't know if you go back and read posts but I hope so---I made the apple cake you found for my mother's 70th birthday and we were all fighting over the last piece! Thank you, Cindy!

I get this post, too. I'm glad you had a nice boss. What a cute cup. My thing is the little restaurant cream pitchers. I sort of collect them, but not really... They have to speak to me... and no, I don't take them. I buy them... but 16 bucks??? wow... it is cute ,though.

I am a coffee freak and I think your post is so cute. I buy old china tea cups and thrift store dishes all the time but who woulda thought to take a closer look at the china served in restaurants. I certainly agree that $16 is a bit much, but what an awesome boss you have and so very thoughtful.

Have a wonderful Christmas

Cindy,
What a darling blue & white espresso cup and saucer! I'm going to try to find that coffee foamer. It sounds like a really good alternative to dragging out the espresso machine.

I'm a tea drinker ( never could develop a taste for coffee), and think that tea always tastes just a little bit better in a beautiful cup. I bet it's the same way for coffee. :-)

You have a very thoughtful boss!
