Even More Christmas Decorating

Pin It Now!

Someone left a comment the other day that they were surprised how much red I have in my Christmas decorations. I love blue and white and I really love blue and white Christmas decorations but my home hasn't ALWAYS been blue and white. When I first started collecting my ornaments my home was hunter green so the traditional red and green looked great. I have too many ornaments now to change everything to blue and white. Maybe if I were rich I would do it but I'm not so I'm sticking with the traditional red and green. I have more red this year than in the past and it all came from this one amaryllis. I usually buy white amaryllis bulbs to force but this year I planted a red one. I then had to put some more red around my home to balance it out so that's why I have those red ribbons on the tree.
I love white Christmas decorations too. Last night I poured some plastic "snow" into this jar and put a few ornaments in it. I really like the way it turned out. That angel has been on my coffee table, my Christmas tree and now in the jar. I may have to go back to the store and get more of those. They were only $2.99 in a little antique store in Santa Cruz.
My mom bought this Christmas village for my son when he was little. That's another thing I will lose someday when he gets a place of his own.
I'm sending out Christmas cards this year. I found these at Marshalls. They are so pretty with all the glitter on them.

Well I was just uploading some photos on flickr and I was then going to run out the door. Your show-stopper photo caught my eye and then I was hooked. Your blog is always so lovely, but this is divine. I hope you are planning on participating in the 2007 Christmas Home Tour hosted by boomama.net. Well have a great day. Your post is gorgeous. Karen

One of the things I like best about blue & white decor is that it works so well with the red and green of Christmas, the pink's of spring and the red and golds of fall.

I think red can go with your colors. My fine china is actually blue and white and I used to always use it for Christmas dinners along with reds. I rarely get to use it now in this smaller home and I actually have changed my decor to a lot of golds, red, and greens now.
Your ornaments are very pretty.

I adore all your decorations, Cindy. And, especially the touches of red. I am of the idea (loving red as I do) that every room needs a touch of red throughout the entire year. Your decorated house looks just stunning.....

I don't think many of us would toss older decorations and keepsakes just because we paint.
Christmas is the one time when anything and everything goes... it is all just for fun...and just for a few weeks of the year.

Cindy,

If you are not the editor/writer/photographer of a fabulous decorating magazine...than you have missed your calling!

Reading and drooling over your blog is like having your favorite magazine delivered on a daily basis.

The jars, the Christmas etc. are just stunning!!

Your red amaryllis looks even more beautiful in it's setting of blue and white and yellow. As with everything else in your home, your decorations are just gorgeous! I always look forward to seeing the pictures you share with us every day. :)

Cindy, everything looks so pretty! I think that it's nice that your children will enjoy your items someday---my sons have "claim" on some of my things, too, and it will be fun to see them in their homes someday.

I already have cards for this year, but I looked at some very similar to send out next year. Those are quite pretty!
