Some changes around here

Pin It Now!

I've made a decision to no longer do Inspiration Friday's as I have in the past. My decision was based on Barbara Jacksier's July 8th post. I love Barbara's blog and as the past editor of many of my favorite magazines I have so much respect for her. I trust her judgement on this...the last thing I need is a lawsuit! I feel bad because I started the whole Inspiration Friday posts and I know they really caught on in the blog world. If you are scanning magazines and posting them on your blog, I would suggest you stop...I would really hate to see any of my blogging friends get slapped with a lawsuit and I would feel so horrible and somewhat responsible since I started this whole thing.

So on a lighter note...what vintage movie star are you most like? I took this fun quiz and found out I'm most like Marilyn Monroe. I find this is so funny because an old boyfriend once told me I was like Marilyn Monroe.

Which vintage movie star are you most like?(For girls)

You are Marilyn Monroe. You're a sexy bombshell who knows how to get what she wants, but sometimes people underestimate you or misread you and you're seen for one thing instead of all that you are. You can actually be very shy and hard on yourself, and feel that sexiness is all you have to offer to people. You will have your success but be careful that you don't let anything consume you completely. Feel better about how smart you are.

I am so bummed that you will no longer do inspiration Friday. But, I understand about not wanting to be sued. You can still inspire us with your personal finds and pictures. Please, please.........

Oooops, I've been guilty of that myself. I'll have to be careful about that. We sure don't want to get in trouble.

Thanks for the reminder!

I am so upset. Glad you found out now and not later with a lawsuit. Hey I took your quiz. I came up like Lauren Bacall.
Cindy, pop over to my site and look at the lavender fields

I was dear Marilyn, as well. We love your photos of your own home. I understand, I guess, what she was saying about copyright, of course, but you meant no harm. Plus, so many times when I see something or a bit of an article, I order the whole book or go get the magazine... like last months Romantic Homes! Oh, well... Your home is awesome and your ideas are stellar. Have a cool weekend. G.

Cindy I know you enjoyed IF, as have so many of us, but I'm so glad you made this decision. It's the right thing to do. I'm sure you will come up with something even more clever in the days ahead. xoxo

Thank you so much, Cindy, for making this decision and sharing this with us. As a new blogger, I was beginning to think that it was fine to use pages from books and all. Your action here, comments, and link to Barbara, have all helped me to see that I need to stay with my photos and postcards! Looks like your Inspiration Friday has been amazing, so a real loss to all. Looking forward to whatever you choose to replace it with! Have a great day!

That makes a lot of sense about not using the photos anymore. Still, I enjoyed them! Thanks for the words of caution.

I'm back! OK, so I won't be using any postcards either, LOL, unless very vintage. I came via Betty Jo's post today, as she spotlighted your post here. After I posted a comment to her, I found out that my postcard idea still involves copyright infringement, unless verrrrrry vintage. This is all very helpful. Thanks again! :-)

I completely support you. I never use stock photos or clips from magazines anymore, I think its cheating. A person shoudl always post and EDIT their own content. Thank you for spreading the word!

Hi Cindy,
Oh my goodness! Thanks for sharing that info ... sad that we won't be seeing you wonderful posts in that direction ... but you're definitely inspirational in your own right and how you put it all together :o)
P.S. I am a Marilyn personality too!!
Have an awesome day!! Dionne
