Pin It Now!

Photo is a road in Edgartown, Marth's Vineyard

I've been tagged by "From My Cherry Heart" and "Raised in Cotton"
One was 7 weierd things about me and the other was 7 random things about me . I'm combining these, so here are 7 random weird things about me.

1. I tuck my dog, Beau, into a blanket on the couch every morning before I leave for work. Then I put the TV on the Animal Planet channel and set the timer on the TV for 2 1/2 hours. He still looks at me those sad puppy-dog eyes though.

2. I hate feet unless they belong to a baby or toddler.

3. I'm the worst judge of character when it comes to men. I've been divorced twice and I could tell you some unbelievable stories about some of the men I've dated. It's so bad that I've given up on dating until my daughter is 18 so I don't drag her into my men drama. It's better for me not to be a role model for her in that area. (Just to be clear, it's not that I went out with men that looked or acted like bad boys, that's not my type. These men seemed normal on the outside.)

4. I have a fear of driving long distances. This keeps me from doing things I would like to do, like visit my parents, visit my son at college and go to Susan Branch's store. These are all about 2-3 hours away from me. My fear is that my car will break down and something bad will happen.

5. I LOVE clean sheets and if I had the time and energy I would change my sheets every day. I change them every Saturday and sometimes midweek.

6. I drink a ton of coffee. I drink it all day long at work.

7. I cry very easily. I cry watching American Idol, when they show the proud parents in the audience and I cry every week when someone gets kicked off. I cried the other day when I saw a man at the stoplight next to me crying...a stranger. I started wondering why he was crying and the next thing I know, my eyes are watering.

I'm not going to tag anyone but if you haven't been tagged with this and you would like to be, then I tag you.

Cindy, you and I are very much alike! I have some stories about dating men who looked perfectly normal (even had wonderful jobs and seemed to be very stable, functional people) and yet were quite to the odd side when the armor came off. There are still some decent ones out there, and I hope one comes right to you when you start dating again. :)

I also love clean sheets and linens, and have a fear of the car breaking down. My son encouraged me to get AAA service, which is really comforting. It's not very expensive (get the upgraded version so that you have long towing distances included) and there's help just a phone call away, so you don't feel so alone.

I'll consider myself tagged by you, too, as I was also tagged by "Raised in Cotton". I'll try to share something later this weekend. I hope that you're having a good one (I loved your photo today, too).

Do you know that I also put my hate of feet on my list and so did Heather Bullard at Present Past!
I say you should conquer that fear and go see Susan Branch :)

I loved reading about you. You are an interesting person. The dog thing just cracked me up. I picture your dog watching Animal Planet.
I can't relate to the man thing though. I've known my husband since I was 16. We have been married for 30 years. Maybe that's weird.
I don't like to drive that far either.
I just got tagged for the first time, so if you want to read about my weirdness, check my blog.

Hmmmm - I would love to go see Susan Branch's shop. If someone else was driving would you go? I wouldn't mind a road trip and my AAA is up to date.

Rick always tucked our Beau in at night - if he was too slow about it Beau would bark at his bed and Rick would go running in order to tuck him in for the night. I'm thinking your Beau might like the new PBS Animal Planet series that is out now....

Feet!!!!
I agree about feet. LBH's are right by me at the moment. But, like you, I do like baby feet.

Cindy I am glad I read your blog! I am not feeling weird any longer!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE clean fresh sheets....but only line dried sheets! I hang my sheets on the line every week! Have you ever slept on line dried sheets! It is the bestest treat anyone can give themselves!
I LOVE my precious 4 month old grandbabies' feet...all others YUCK!!!!
I too can't drive far! I have panic attacks when I have to drive into town... alone!
If I had a dog I'd do the same thing.
I had a friend who used to call home and talk to her dogs on the answering machine when she was at work!
As for men..... the right one will come along when the time is right! There really are good men out there.... trust me...I have the BEST!! I had to go thru some toads to find my PRINCE but it was worth waiting for!
For now enjoy your independance and your children!

I agree with Lori...... we are all sane no matter what anyone says! :-)

Cindy, Ditto on several of your tags! The men thing, for sure... and the wonderful coffee!!! And the clean sheets. I've been like that since I was a little girl. My favorite sensation almost is to have clean nightie, clean sheets, clean hair, clean teeth, and a shower.... and slip between clean sheets.... Makes me want to slide in there right now... only currently I have discovered my 17 year old washing machine is on the fritz... so I'm waiting not so patiently until tomorrow... Think I'll be trying on a new one in a day or two... ouch! And oh, especially do I cry easily, too... A scripture says God saves all our tears ina bottle... he's got one of those big Culligan ones for us, huh? Hugs!

That was interesting! I leave HGTV on for my dog during the day. I always ask him to learn to do something and he never does! I'm with ya on the driving thing - I just don't like driving. Yeah, I cry at everything. It's the one thing I wish I could change about myself because, really, even I think I'm ridiculous sometimes!

Cindy, I sure relate to being afraid to drive long distances alone. I don't even want my daughter to go by herself anywhere that is more than 20 minutes away.
I also can relate to the man...hmmm...boy, thing! I was engaged twice before I married my hubby (and it's been almost 32 years) and I caught one of them in bed with my best friend and the other one I caught kissing a married woman. That ended it for me and then I met my hubs. There's good ones out there, just hard to find! But I think you are very wise when considering your daughter! Good for you!

Cindy I love that you're so willing to admit you cry easily, but that doesn't make you pathetic it makes you empathic! and that is what makes you a lovely human being. Janie ( England)
