Last Saturday I wandered over to the Goodwill by my house, and when I say "by my house" I mean it. It's probably only a 1/4 of a mile away. There was a beautiful antique secretary desk there but it was sold. Out of curiosity, I looked but couldn't find a price tag on it. I would have loved to be the one that got that. I did find this cute ceramic basket dish for $7.99. I picked it up but wasn't sure if I wanted it or not. I've learned that if I'm not sure, I should always pick it up and then decide as I walk around because if I go back to get it, it will be gone. As I was walking through the store with it, three ladies came up to me and said how beautiful it was. I knew then, that I wanted it.
Also, if you haven't been over to Cherry's at Tales from Pixie Wood, go on over. She got to interview Susan Branch! Susan Branch found her blog and sent her an email, you have to scroll down to read that post first...it's called "Yeh, It happens like this...IN THE MOVIES." Susan agreed to do an interview and Cherry asked her readers to submit questions. I LOVE Susan Branch so of course I submitted a question. I can't tell you how excited I was to see that she answered it!!!! Here is what I asked:
I've been a fan since Heart of the Home first came out. I went to Martha's Vineyard in 1987 for the first time and just like her, I'm a California girl that fell in love with the Vineyard. I wish I could just move there like she did the first time she visited. I would love to know how she got the nerve to move across the country to a small island and about the transition of living there vs. living in California.
The most amazing part is that Susan said she visited everyone's blog that submitted a question! Isn't she amazing!

I love Susan Branch too! Im going to head over and check out the interview...
I visit Cherry's site often, your's just as much too (though lurk and have never commented till now), often over a cup of cappuccino. I posted a question to Susan too. So special that she also answered my question and made me come over all goosey because I admire her so much.
Can I take this moment to say I love visiting your blog and your home is so inspirationally beautiful. A real aaaah and relaxing feel to it.

That is amazing! I have all of Susan Branch's cook books, and give them as gifts all the time to my girl friends and women in my family. Can't wait to check out the interview. Thanks for the suggestion of visiting Cherry's site. I will.
I will check out the interview soon, but wanted to let you know how much I have been enjoying your blog. Just beautiful!
Love that white basket you found, Cindy! That definitely is a keeper. I can see a pretty linen napkin tossed in there & use it as a bread basket. I don't know Susan Branch, but will check out her website...she sounds very interesting. So neat to get your question answered. Never been to Martha's Vineyard, but from the pics I've seen, I can see why everyone must fall in love with it.

CINDY,
Enjoyed looking at your site, and how cute that Button weath is that Becca won in your drawing.
I go to the thrift store at LEAST once a week, always find good stuff. Pretty soon garage sale season will start here and I can get more things I don't need.
Like you, I put things in my cart and decide later as I walk around. Hate buyers regret.

I love Cape Cod, even though I've never been there.

I'm so glad that you enjoyed asking Susan Branch a question and then being able to read it's answer in this amazing little online blogging community.
You have a beautiful blog yourself.
Love Cherry xx
That's just like Susan...the day I wrote her and asked if she would do a booksigning in my store(10 years ago) she wrote back in one week and said "yes"...and two times since then...I am proud to call her friend!!!!
It's so exciting to have her so personal
