As I was going through my large stacks of old magazines, I realized that I have been saving these longer than I thought. In my stash of magazines are issues from 1995! Twelve years old! I bought them when my daughter was 2 and now she's 14! As I look through the pages of these older magazines, I realize that a lot has changed as far a decorating then vs. now. The decor back then was really floral. Layers upon layers of different floral fabrics. Large florals! Floral wallpaper! Everything was floral! I love flowers but as I look at these old magazines they do not appeal to me at all anymore. It was just too much. The Romantic Homes issue of March 1997 is one of my favorites though. I remember when it came out, I was so impressed. As I was looking at it last night I was still impressed. I loved this backyard party photo and it still really appeals to me now, 10 years later. I love these tables and the little house in the background is so adorable. There is also the cutest baby's nursery in this issue too. I will post pictures of that next Friday.I hope everyone has a great weekend!

That's a beautiful picture. Classic. I love the setting & would love to have a meal at that table.
I remember this page....love it! I started reading Romantic Homes in 1995 after I got married. Kept every issue until 2003 when I finally got rid of them. I'm now wishing I had kept some of them...do you have the March 01 issue? I think that issue featured a house that belonged to a woman named Marilyn Mullins (I have a strange memory for random details :)) Would love to see those pages again if you think they'd be worthy of one of your Inspiration Friday features. Enjoy your California weekend...it's gorgeous here in Florida!
I only hope to be able to make my yard look that way....it will...someday far off into the future!
Hi Cindy,
I found your blog this afternoon through a link on someone's... maybe Cammy K's?... blog. I'm so glad I did! You've made a beautiful place here!
I love that you have magazines still hanging around from the early 1990s. Me too! I love to look through them every now and then and see what I am (and am NOT) missing!
Thanks for letting me drop by. Hope you have a lovely weekend!

How fun, you and I not only live in the same house(the one with the pink roses all over the fence!) but we keep and love the same magazine clippings.
I had that picture of the gardenhouse with the table in front...it's what made me want a "gardenhouse" in the first place!
Happy weekend, always love visiting you.Lidy
I love that! I've always wanted to have a garden party/dinner with a real table put under the trees.
I remember that page too. When my daughter got married in '03 we use that picture as our inspiration for her out-door shower. We did 3 tables, l in Mac-Kenzie Childs, 1 in blue & white, and 1 in old rose china. Wish I had taken better pictures, it was so cute, other than the fact that we should have had a tent because the sun was blazing that day and the guests were sweltering :( Your blog is beautiful and I really like what you did with your bedroom, especially the way you redid your bed.
Hi Cindy,
I just love this photo...that is a classic garden party (and makes me want to redo my yard, too)! I am like you in that I save magazines forever, or at least the clippings. I have found that my taste has stayed basically the same over the years with just little evolutions, have you? I do remember how popular florals were during that time period. My sister decorated with them, and I wore them! :) (remember those Laura Ashley jumpers?).
I am inspired every time I visit your blog (and not just Fridays!). You have such great ideas, and are so creative with all of your finds. When I find myself on the redecorating treadmill, I often think "now, what would Cindy do?".
I hope that you're having a great weekend!
Fondly,
Andrea
