The old door

Pin It Now!

I've shown you my old screen door before that I have in my bedroom but it's been awhile and I'm not sure if I had the lace behind it last time I posted pictures of it. The lace, which is a tablecloth, was crocheted by my mom when she was 15 years old.

I made the heart above out of an old linen tablecloth that was damaged. I made the heart below with some of my old buttons. I sewed every single one of those on!
The screen is a bit shabby but I love how it gives the room the feel of an old summer cottage.

This screen door is, without a doubt, one of my most favorite things about your pretty bedroom--so clever and you have it decorated so beautifully. I would love to find a treasure like that!

Your new table came out spectacular too! The decision to shabby it up with the glaze was a good one--it really made the pretty carving stand out.

It is a perfect work of art. You're awesome.

Hi Cindy,
Love the screen door. The platter on the door is my china pattern from my mother--Florence pattern from Pope Gosser. I love the delicate roses. I just bought the gray boat two weeks ago. I enjoy reading and seeing pics on your blog. Penny in Missouri

I love your door so much. I have a large collection of vintage linen and lace and am always looking for some way to display it and get it out of boxes so I can enjoy it. Thanks for the idea. You and your home (and blog) are truly inspirational... Sue

Hi Cindy,

I love that screen door. What a beautiful heirloom that you have of your mother's. I can't believe she made that at 15! I wish girls today had the interest in that kind of stuff like our moms did. She certainly was a talented young lady.

I love this and enjoyed seeing it again, especially with the beautiful lace that your mother made as a young lady! How special is that?! :)

OMG... I have a screen just like that, but after years of 4 boys in and out... I am ready for a new one... However, I never would have thought to use it inside as decor! Thank you for the inspiration!
