Here is the painted table. Ignore the big brown marks on the left, I still need to touch those up. I was using the power sander and I took off a little too much paint. I wanted this table to be a little more shabby chic than some of my other pieces and I'm happy with the way it turned out. I had to move my plate collection around a little so it would be centered over this table. The table I had here previously was smaller.
I know some people prefer natural wood but I just love painted furniture!
Below is the before picture. Since I always get questions I'm going to put a link to how I turn a piece of furniture shabby chic. Click here if you would like to the directions.

Oh that turned out SO cute! I love it!
As always, I love it! Thanks for the link for directions. I have a bookcase that is in need so I will avail myself of your expertise :-) Rosie
Table looks great. You are so talented. I love painted furniture as well :0)
It looks lovely painted.
I am also a fan, there is barely an item of furniture left in my house that is unpainted!
Love your blog
Jasmine
Cindy,
I just know that you will do a fantastic job. Yes the table turned out super, now it is so you.
Can't wait your next project, you are so full of ideas.
Love Suzy
Cindy I love how that piece turned out! I must admit to you and the rest of the blogging world...I have a fear of being the first to paint wooden furniture! I always talk myself out of it by convincing myself I'll ruin it.
But, reading your blog and all those wonderful ideas and photos is helping me get one step closer to the paint brush!
It turned out great Cindy!

The table looks great! I would paint most of my furniture if it wasn't for my husband ... he likes the wood left natural. Oh well. :) I love your linen and lace collection! That's one of my passions too but I haven't bought any new ones for awhile due to lack of funds. I don't even mind the ironing either! Love, love, love your ironing board cover AND those gorgeous eggs!
Cindy what a great job on the table. It looks beautiful.
Alison
I knew you would find a place for it.

I love painted furniture and this turned out really pretty! I love the plates above and how you've accessorized it.
Manuela
I, too , love painted furniture. This table is way cuter after your personal painting touch. I love to paint wood furniture and get rid of the'manwood' look!
I love it Cindy. I do the same with my furniture. Painting is a good thing. (Now I sound like Martha)
Enjoy your table!
Rosemary
Hi Cindy,
I admire all your work - your home is super charming. Beautiful table!
Hi Cindy,
You did an awesome job and I have to say that the plate arrangement you have above it is so pretty!
Hugs,
Dena
I'm with you. I think it's much, much nicer painted.
Oh Cindy,
So, so pretty! I only wish I had the nerve to do that to some of my pieces. Wow, really pretty. You rock! Hugs, Rosemary~
Table look pretty with all the other accessories!.. good job! love the whole look of it..
The table looks so much better painted!
~elaine~
Great job! I really like painted furniture, too. And it really helps, when you're on a budget, to be able to buy furniture with a few knicks and scratches, knowing that a cute shabby paint job will do the trick!
Cindy, your table is Be-U-ti-ful!
I love painted furniture too. We have a white shabby chic baby bed for the grandkids in the office right now that turns into a day bed...I'm going to paint it black and use it in the office for an extra bed now that the grandkids have outgrown the baby bed. I love white too but right now I'm more partial to black painted stuff....great job on the table. Judy
Cindy, your table is fabulous. The plate arrangement above it looks very nice and I like your blue and white bench beside it. I am curious as to where you put the little birdhouse table.....

It's beautiful! I think it's one of my favorite pieces that you've done. I love the garden trowels tied with ribbon, too. You're so clever. :)
Cindy, your furniture is gorgeous!!!! THank you for providing a how-to link as I've always wondered how to achieve a nice finish without poly. I poly'ed a couple of pieces recently and am not thrilled with the result. I may have to sand them down and try the wax paste!
Great job and thank you!
It looks great, great job!

I just love it. Another beautiful piece from Cindy!
The table looks so beautiful! Great job!

One of the reasons I am such a devoted fan of your blog is b/c of your painted furniture. You make me feel so much better about my painting everything I can see! Your house is beautiful, as usual.
Great job, Cindy!
