My Oatmeal Cookies

Pin It Now!

Last night I made some yummy oatmeal cookies! I started off using the Quaker Oats Famous Oatmeal Cookie Recipe but I stirred in 3/4 cup of chopped dried apricots and 1/4 cup of shredded coconut. After I baked them and let them cool I dipped them in melted white chocolate and popped them in the fridge for a few minutes to firm up the chocolate.

There is something about dried apricots and white chocolate...they just go so well together! Mmmm-mmm good!

Pink Saturday!

Pin It Now!

First off...I must say that I don't think that dying animals pink or any other color is a good idea, in fact I think it's illegal in some states but I couldn't help but video tape this little poodle when I saw her outside of a thrift store on my lunch hour last week. You just don't see a pink poodle every day! I know it so wrong but you have to admit she's so cute! She looked like a stuffed animal! The owner told me that they were going to have to sell her because they lost their jobs...how sad! Hopefully her next mama won't dye her pink!

Happy Pink Saturday! Please stop by Beverly ~ How Sweet the Sound to see more bloggers participating in Pink Saturday!

EDITED TO ADD: It was not my intent to sadden or even make people angry with this post!! I'm so sorry if I have! My belief is that you should never judge a person's motives without knowing all the facts! I got my dog Beau at about the same age as this dog because his owner couldn't keep him. Maybe these people are moving into a homeless shelter because they have children...we just don't know! Please don't judge people without knowing the whole story! I find that very sad! My heart goes out to EVERYONE that has lost their job in these hard economic times!

Show and Tell Friday!

Pin It Now!

I would like to thank Kelli for passing over her Show and Tell Fridays to me. I would also like to welcome her readers to my blog! I know for many of you this may be your first visit here and I would like to make you feel comfortable and I hope that you continue joining in on Show and Tell every Friday. I look forward to getting to know you all better!

To my regular readers I hope that you join in also. I think this will be a lot of fun every week!

This first week I decided to share my chandelier that I found on craigslist awhile ago. I remember being so excited to find it. They were asking $85 for it but I ended up getting it for $65. It was brass and I hadn't planned on painting it but after I put it in my bedroom I just didn't like the brass so I ended up spray painting it in Heirloom White. I think it looks so much better!

*******************************

Remember, that your Show and Tell needs to be something from your home or garden. Please read the Show and Tell Guidelines for step-by-step instructions on how to participate.

If you would like to join in, please leave your exact show and tell blog post link, along with your first name only (this makes the list easier to read). If your link has been removed from MckLinky, please re-read over the guidelines before re-posting, or e-mail me with any questions.

White Wednesday on Thursday

Pin It Now!

I'm a day late for White Wednesday hosted by Kathleen at Faded Charm but I really wanted to give you more than a one day notice about Show and Tell Fridays so I decided to post this a day late. Above is a paper rose I have hanging on a bird cage...I always think of Marie Osmond every time I say Paper Rose. Remember that song "Paper Roses" Okay, I know, I'm showing my age! Aghhhh....I'm not going to be able to get that song out of my head for days now... Oh well, it brings back happy memories of being 12 years old! Paper Roses...
I just love this photo of Vince. His hair is dark brown now but when he was little it was very blonde...almost white!!! It's hard to tell in that photo but he has dirt all over his face. I was working in the garden and he was playing in the dirt! Where did the time go? He'll be 23 in December!
This mirror above was from a giveaway I won on Glenda's blog. I have it in my entry way. It's reflecting the mirrors on my staircase. Hmmm...Mirrors reflecting mirrors....that may be a sign that I have too many! haha!
A lace trimmed napkin on a shelf. It's just too pretty to put in a drawer!

Don't forget tomorrow is my first Show & Tell party! If you are a new blogger, I encourage you to join in. It's a great way to get more visitors to your blog!
