Show and Tell Friday
First off before I say anything...I'm on Benadryl and I am so tired I can hardly think straight ! I got some weird allergic reaction this afternoon. I got a few hives under my left eye and on my neck and now I look like I got "punched in the face"....those were Lauren's exact words! The area under my eye is so swollen! Anyway, I'm sharing my birdhouse I have in my bedroom. I planned to tell you about how I painted it three years ago but I'm too sleepy to write all that now. I'm off to go lay down now. I hope this is gone when I wake up!

Thank you!
I didn't really have anything planned for my blog this morning but I wanted to at least say thank you for all the kind words yesterday about my new shop!
I went shopping yesterday and found some more treasures for you and I plan to do a little more shopping this weekend. I'm so happy I have an excuse to go shopping for vintage treasures now! Why didn't I do this years ago?I'll be back with another post tonight! It's Show and Tell Friday again!
Grab a cupcake before you go...
(thanks to all of you who purchased something, I'll be shipping them out soon!)

A Shop of My Own!
It's always been my dream to have my own little shop one day. I'm not ready to give up on that dream but I'm not in a place financially where I could do that right now. The next best thing would be to start an online business with my own website but since I work full time I was a little afraid to make that commitment. I've now decided to set up a vintage shop on etsy! This is my way of taking baby steps towards my dream and if I like doing this as a side business I will be opening up my own online shop in the future so I can sell both new and vintage items.
My Vintage etsy shop is now open for business. I have 13 items listed and more will be added soon!
It's going to be so much fun shopping at flea markets, thrift stores and garage sales for vintage and antique items that I can put in my shop! I have a link to my etsy vintage shop on my left sidebar so you can just click on that to go visit my shop or you can click here. Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know if there are any items you would like to see there. (I'll only be shipping in the U.S. to start with but I may ship internationally in the future.)

Playing with my dishes again!
I know there are a lot of people that put things in their china cabinets and hutches and don't touch them for years...or even decades!!! I'm not one of those people! Mine get changed a few times of year...at the very least! I recently took out all the blue and white plates that I put in there last Fall and replaced them with my collection of pink mismatched dishes. Here is what my hutch looked like at Christmas with the blue and white...
That photo above was taken when I lived in sunny California, now I live in dreary, cloudy, rainy, cold California! You can tell the difference in these two photos! I miss the sunshine!
Here's what my hutch looks like now. ..
Warning: I took a lot of photos...

Yes...those are artificial flowers and I think I need to rinse off those leaves. Dust seems to show up more in photographs! LOL

This is the pillowcase I bought at the last flea market I went to. I just folded it and draped it over the hutch door and topped it with a vintage hankie. I see nothing wrong with pillowcases and hankies in my dining room.... says the woman with dinner plates hanging in her bedroom!

I know some of you must be tired of seeing the same old things on this blog but it's really hard to think of new things to post when I've been doing this for so many years! Hopefully soon, I'll be finishing Lauren's room and I'm also going to make some changes to my room and then I have to do something with the bathroom upstairs so just hang in there with me and I'll try to make this blog a little more interesting!

Something new with no money spent!
Look at this beautiful cherub cake plate that I made with things I already had.
I used one of my ceramic cherubs, a plate and my etched cloche. I didn't want to use a permanent adhesive so I used wax to hold them together.
This is a great product not only for keeping things in place in case of an earthquake but it also holds things together. The good thing is it can be removed easily. As you can see, it holds really well...
I'm so thrilled with how this turned out!
I have cups and saucers in there now but I think it would look so pretty with cookies or a small cake.Updated to add: I bought my Museum Wax at Bed, Bath and Beyond. You can also buy it online. Amzon carries it, click here.

Show and Tell Friday
This week I'm going to share some of the mirrors I've made over. Most of the mirrors I have hanging on my staircase wall originally had gold plastic frames. I bought them at thrift stores, garage sales and flea markets for less than $10 each.
The one above was one of my favorite mirror makeovers. You can see in the photo below what it originally looked like. It had a great texture to it so when I put the Rub n Buff over the white paint it gave it a crackle finish. That was a nice surprise!
Here is another one that turned out really nice with some white paint and a little antiquing...
It took me a couple years to find all these but I was finally able to fill the stairway with mirrors of all shapes and sizes...
I did a couple tutorials on how I painted them back in 2008. You can click here to see them: Mirror Makeover and another Mirror Makeover. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
