A Weekend Away!

Pin It Now!

I had a wonderful weekend away last weekend! I went to Nevada City, California with my new guy..."Mr. C"!  We met on an online dating site and our first date was the day after I turned 50 and we've really been enjoying our time together ever since!  You may remember him as the guy that took me on a private plane to go see a concert last month!  He has really planned some amazing dates...a wonderful dinner at a restaurant that I casually mentioned to him as being very romantic (Shadowbrook for those of you local), a picnic at a local winery, and now a weekend at a B&B (The Broad Street Inn),  He is a very private person, unlike me who shares all my personal stuff on my blog so hopefully he won't mind if I tell you that he's 51 and he's a CFO...and I might add that he has a great sense of style both with his home and how he dresses! We don't share the same political views so when we met at the height of the recent election it was a bit intense at times but all in good fun!
I took a lot of photos of this quaint little town that is located in Northern California.  This was the area where gold was discovered in the 1800s and all these cute little towns came about as people headed out west to find their fortune!  There is lots of history here and as you walk through town you can almost imagine what it was like here in the 1800s!  I have more photos to share but I'm still going through them...

Cindy what a romantic spot for a weekend stay. My husband and I love B&Bs, they are just more personal and usually have such lovely rooms. Thanks for sharing this one, can't wait to see the other photos. I've not been up North for a while, but it's nice to know a few spots to land so to speak. Sounds like a great guy.

I love Nevada City - one of the towns I've always wanted to live in. Also fun to visit during the Holidays for Victorian Christmas and lots of other events. Just an FYI - I met my sweet hubby on-line and we are going on 7 years of marriage now :) Sounds like you found a good guy - Congrats!!

Well, that just sounds wonderful!! I love Nevada City, and I haven't stayed at the Broad Street Inn, but I have stayed at Piety hill Inn and The Parsonage years ago. I think it's been way too long since I visited there- sounds like a nice holiday-time getaway to me!

Sounds like the universe gave you the ideal 50th birthday present, a romantic guy to go along with the romantic home. You've given another 50 year old a glimmer of hope that there is hope for me yet. Enjoy this time :)

I'm so happy for you Cindy! What a great place for a romantic get away with a great guy.

While visiting northern CA in 2008 we visited where the gold was discovered in a stream. It didn't look like we thought it would at all.
