GIRLS IN MY CIRCLE
My good friends, Kim and Natasha |
When I was little,
I used to believe in the concept of one best friend,
And then I started to become a woman.
And then I found out that if you allow your heart to open up,
You would see the best in many friends.
One friend is needed when you're going through things with your man.
Another friend is needed when you're going through things with your mom.
Another will sit beside you in the bleachers as you delight in your children and their activities.
Another when you want to shop, share, heal, hurt, joke, or just be.
One friend will say, 'Let's cry together,'
Another , 'Let's fight together,'
Another , 'Let's walk away together.'
The girls at the winery with the Jason the owner |
One friend will meet your spiritual need,
Another your shoe fetish,
Another your love for movies,
Another will be with you in your season of confusion,
Another will be your clarifier,
Another the wind beneath your wings.
That's me in the center - 1978! |
On whatever the occasion,
On whatever the day,
Or wherever you need them to meet you with their gym shoes on and hair pulled back,
Or to hold you back from making a complete fool of yourself .
Those are your best friends.
It may all be wrapped up in one woman, But for many, it's wrapped up in several..
One from 7th grade,
One from high school,
Several from the college years,
A couple from old jobs,
On some days your mother,
On some days your neighbor,
On others, your sisters,
And on some days, your daughters.
So whether they've been a friend for 20 minutes or 20+ years,
AND ONLY IF YOU'D LIKE TO,
Pass this on to the women that have been placed in your life
To make a difference. Including the one who sent it to you.
Thanks for being in my circle.

Thanks, really beautiful and so true, I am so blessed with many "best" friends and they are all so treasured. Maybe we should all do a "sharing" post to tell about the amazing ladies in our lives!
Sincerely,
Laura
Perfect, that is so true. Great share! oxox, Diane
Now that I'm older, this is even more meaningful to me. I love my peeps; we're better together.

So true Cindy! Thank you for this lovely posting of girlfriends being "best friends". I have the best girls in my circle and I love them so much! Also, there is always room for more and more! :)
When my husband passed almost 13 years ago it was my girlfriends who got me through this sad time in my life. <3
Have a wonderful day!

Sweet post Cindy....I spotted your cute face in 1978, has not changed at all:) Girlfriend rock...in fact I have BUNCO tonight and can't wait to hang with the girls, live, love, laugh!
Hi Cindy,
Glad your out and about more, "doing some living". blogs are great but, as they say to everything there is a season. And for now you need to do some stuff just for you!
XoXo
Cindy, You are an inspiration to me. I started my blog because of you! Thank you for this beautiful insight. It is good to enjoy life...you deserve it. I am also so proud of you for getting out there and dating! You go girl!
Hugs,
Olivia
That is so true! While I believe in best friends, I feel it's possible to have many best friends. You may have certain needs that one friend can fulfil, but not another, but then that other friend can fulfill your other needs that maybe another of your friends can't help you with. Many friends is a good thing!
I love my gal pals, and you look like you have some great ones yourself! Too cute in the cheerleading outfit!!
Glad you are having fun Cindy.
I had a GREAT night out with my BFF Naomi (aka Mi Vida) on Monday.
I'm also looking forward to my BBFF Mily, my baby sister tomorrow.
Quick shout out to my other FABULOUS girlfriends (including you!).
There is nothing like a good girlfriend. Great post.
Besos!

I have to agree with this. I have a group of girlfriends who are amazing. We would all do anything for each other. Heck, we all even congregate at one's home on Thanksgiving, rather than celebrating in our own homes. I love my life and my girlfriends! (and that includes you, my sweet friend of um, yea, a lot of years!)
Cindy, I do have to admit that I was concern what had happened, it is not like you not to post on a daily basis. Each day I check your blog because it's my favorite, then thought maybe she is ill, but even then she let's us know. So I waited and waited, finally you came through, then read your post. You go girl and have fun time flies so fast and we hardly enjoy life. So go ahead and enjoy life, love your post, it is so inspiringHugs,
Maria & Ruth.
Cindy you have all the fun you can while your still young. Hope you have a lot of it. Love the post and it is so true. I have a walking neighbor friend, two coffee friends (one is from high school),
we have met once a week for coffee for the last 30yr. It is so nice to
have friends. The older you get the more you appreciate them.":O)
Lovely...just lovely!
Sometimes girlfriends don't even have to speak, they just know what to do...they know you that well.
Thanks for reminding us!

So True! Thanks for sharing!
Lovely. I will pass it on.
And I remember the hair from 1978 (love your photo). I had the same style, but was at Del Mar instead of Camden (think I mentioned that already?) my how time flies.
Happy night, Cindy!
My friends are so important to me. Loved the sentiments of "Girlfriends"
Same smile on that sweet young cheerleader as the sweet mature Cindy.
Glad you are enjoying life.
What a lovely post, Cindy. I, too, have felt this way as I've gone through life. I have wonderful women in my life and I love each and every one of them. They all bring something very special to my life. I believe each of them is here to teach me something about myself and vice versa. What a blessing it is to have loving friends around. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself with all of us.

So true Cindy! I have been blessed with great gal friends throughout my life too. I love the cheerleader photo - you were cute as the dickens then and beautiful now.
Sweet sweet post today, Cindy. And oh so true. I've lost a few close friends over the years and was devastated. But as the years went on, I realized that they were sent into my life for that time for a purpose - and I've accepted that and moved on to create even better friendships. And recently.....my blog friends are the ultimate BESTEST!!! lol!
