I often get asked what type of camera I use so since it's been awhile since I blogged about it I thought I would share this info again. I have a Canon Rebel XSi. I bought mine online through QVC so I could spread the payments out over 4 months. I've had mine a few years now and have used it so much and I'm still thrilled with the quality of the photos! It was well worth the money I spent on it! If you are a blogger, a good camera can make all the difference!!!
Since just a photo of a camera would be very boring I thought I would share some photos that were taken with my camera...
Before I started blogging I was a horrible photographer. Taking photos almost every day for so many years (over 5 years blogging) has really improved my photography! My best advice is to turn off the flash on your camera if you can. I almost never use my flash!

You're so right, Cindy. A good camera makes all the difference, well most of it anyway. The person behind the camera is pretty important too. Your photos are all fabulous. I would love to have a camera like yours.
Hugs,
Charlotte
Cindy.....You take wonderful photos! I have a Canon(not a Rebel) but I find it is hard for me to remember which setting to put it on and don't always have time or the instructions with me to do it right. I always try to remember to turn off my flash!~Hugs, Patti
I'm not much of a photographer so it's very good to know that having a good camera helps. Beautiful beautiful photos!
Thanks for the tip on not using the flash.
I would LOVE to have a camera like yours! I have a coolpix like the one Ashton Kutcher shows in the commercials on tv. :) (it's pink...anyone that knows me, knows thats important! lol) It's a great little camera with lots of bells & whistles. I really do love my camera, but yours takes great photos...maybe someday I'll get to upgrade! :)
Lots of hugs!

I have the same camera! And I love mine too. :)
What charming photos you have taken. My favorite is the one with the lit tree. Gorgeous!
Oh thank you! I so need to buy a new one soon, thanks for sharing! And of course your photos are lovely!
Agreed, my Nikon D5000 is the best investment I ever made!
I like light, your room with chandelier is magic, wonderful. It looks absolutely fantastic.Greetings from Biljana
hi cindy
i love your blog. I have a new camera. I had mine stolen in June. I bought a rebel T2i. OMG I just love it. I'm learning the settings and photoshop helps alot. I would love to know what lens you use on the photos. Love Betty

I LOVE this post about your camera! Just two days ago I went to the camera shop with my Cannon Rebel and my lenses and asked if I could get an equivalent digital body, and could I use my same lenses. The answer was yes and I was swooning the rest of the day! I hope that in the not to distant future I'll have a similar post of my own!
I also have a Canon EOS Rebel. For Christmas my husband bought me a Tamron lens. What a difference! It's a Tamron 18-270mm. Worth every penny. I use it exclusively.
I love your photo at night of your courtyard. I agree: never use a flash!
I am still learning how to take photos. Your pictures are stunning. Very lovely. Thank you for sharing your lovely things
Cindy, its all about the presentation too and you got it
going on girl. Love your camera
and I hope to replace my fujifilm
camera with one like yours one of
these days. Your pictures are wonderful just like your presentation. You have some schooling on photography too and
I think that makes a difference.
If I ever get a blog I would love
to take a photography class first.":O)
I just got the very same camera for my birthday, this past June. I've been having a desperately fun time with it and, like you, my photography skills have taken off. Photos are so fun. They're a little world preserved - like a window into a little haven. Like looking through a dollhouse window. I love looking through your eyes!!
Love, Katy Noelle
Wow Cindy how nice!!!!
love your photo's
i wish you a nice and sunny weekend

O My! Your home and garden are breathtaking! Thanks for sharing pics. Always curious about cameras everyone uses.
Thanks for the camera info and the tip about not using the flash. I have ruined a lot of photos by using a flash. Blogging does help you improve those skills......loved the photos in your post too.
Your photos are always so beautiful! In fact your photos of that vineyard in Napa you and your friends went to makes me want to go there on Monday. I just can't remember the name of it. Can you share the name again please?
Thanks, Bonnie
You deserve a great camera you put a whole lot into your photo's and postings that are so apart of who you are.
I am drooling over all the beauty you create!!
xx

Cindy - thank you so much for sharing the tips about your camera and not using the flash. So good to know. I think a new camera is going on my Christmas list....Oh, and beautiful beautiful photos, as usual! :)

Great tip about the QVC thing. I was wondering how I was going to budget a new one.
I've had the same camera almost 2 years now and LOVE IT! It is my favorite tool.
I use the zoom lens that came with the kit primarily. However, if you find that you are often in low light (I don't like to use flash), you can buy the Canon 50 mm f1.8 II, a fixed-distance lens for $100.00 that works very well in low-light without flash and takes very sharp photos. It's a small super-lightweight lens.
Check it out - lots of reviews online.

I love your blog, and especially your photography. This may be a silly question, but is this a digital or film camera? ~ Sheilla

Hola Cindy, thank you so much for sharing your camera, your photos are great as always in your blog but your things around the house are much more beautiful.
I also changed my little pocket camera and the photos are much better now... still learning from my canon 5D.

So gorgeous. Your photos speak for you!!
Your photos make me drool. I need a good camera and am hoping for one soon.
Hi Cindy! Oh, I believe you! I wish I had a wonderful camera like yours. I have a little Olympus and I do the best I can with it, but I want a better one. Thanks for telling us what you use as your photos are always just gorgeous! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
By the way, these photos are so beautiful!
Love your camera and really, really love the photos you have taken with it. Is that you back yard? Pretty pretty.

Your garden is just charming. It makes me long for cooler weather so I can enjoy the outside again.
Can I live at your house!!! Really it's sooo magical!!!! I need a good camera sooooo bad!!!
Fantastic!
I shoot with a Konica Minolta DiMage Viewer, and it is a wonderful camera...have had it for about 6 years. I think that you have inspired me to take some photography courses...I just know that I can get more out of my camera. Thanks for the inspiration! Cherry Kay
Lucky camera!
Excuse my English is not perfect, I applaud your wonderful blog. I found some nice pictures.Bay Gilda
I use and love Canon products and couldn't be happier with them, BUT... I NEED more lenses and so the cost never ends. But I agree with you that quality photos can make a big difference in the quality of a blog.
