Spring Cleaning!

Pin It Now!

I've got the spring-cleaning bug really bad!  I took a vacation day today so I could clean...how pathetic is that?  Who uses vacation days to clean?  I cleaned out all the cabinets in my bathroom which I haven't done in a long time.  I found medication that expired in 2004!!!  I even replaced all the old shelf paper with new. Ahhh...it felt so good to get that done!

I better go get busy....there is a lot to clean in this little apartment!

That's so funny!! Because that is where I am starting my Spring cleaning!! I picked mine because I can get it done quickly and get that "good feeling" of accomplishment!! LOL

I think we have all been bit by that bug! Enjoy your day...take some time for yourself! Are you listening to good music while you clean? That always helps me! ♥

I'm actually in the mood to Spring clean and I hate cleaning, Cindy! I need to find a day when no one else will be home and maybe take that day as a vacation day to do it. I can get more done when no one is home getting under foot!

Oh Cindy, somehow I don't think a speck of dust is ever even in your place. It is always so pretty and perfect looking.

I really love the Spring time in your house with all the lovely flowers and shells.

Your blog is a like a vacation spot for me to go visit. I always feel so calm and happy when I leave there.

Hugs,
Joanne

EEEEEYUCK! Spring cleaning! That is a dirty word!! LOL Too much to do outside here for a major inside cleaning. I totally rebel against the idea of spring cleaning. Most of the stuff we do when *spring cleaning* needs to be done more than once a year anyway. We do things as we have the time (and the mood strikes LOL). I usually like to do a good cleaning before the holidays.
Thankfully my hubby helps out. He will be cleaning windows once the pollen season is over. We've been enjoying working in our yard for now.

I've yet to dig my way out from Easter and having my children home all week. Spring cleaning...hmm. Need to do some serious straightening up first.

How fun, I love when I get that bug. I cleaned all of the cob webs yesterday. Where do they come from, I will never know. They just arrive over night because I never see them coming.
Have fun,
Ginger

We've working on our basement. I can't believe all the stuff (and junk) down there. At least we don't have to work on the garage this summer. That is 99.9% done. Don't forget to rest too.

Well if Spring Cleaning makes you feel good...a vacation day was well used! It is pretty awesome how much a person can get done in a small amount of time. Good for you!

Yes, Cindy I did take off work to deep clean. Of course now being retired I don't have time to clean or care about cleaning. I just want to read beautiful blogs like yours. Your are my inspiration.

I'm sick like you, I take vacation days to clean and organize. Boy does it feel good once it's done.

are you going to be spring cleaning any of your wonderful things into your etsy shop? (hint hint)

I love your picnic basket with the hydrangeas in it. I used to have a basket like that , I sure wish I had kept it. I have a feeling there are a lot of working women who, like you, take vacation time to clean. How do some things get done otherwise? Have a lovely day. Cindy S

Cindy,

That handpainted plate is absolutely beautiful. I've got a few that my Great Aunt painted and some my Mother in law painted. In fact, I think the ones my Mother in law gave me are the same shape of plate. So beautiful. The basket with hydrangeas atop the armoire is lovely as well. Such a peaceful color! Come over to my blog, I'm doing my first giveaway...$100 certificate to my shop. I've got alot of blue and white...some are the same patterns I've seen in pics of your home you've shared with us all.

Have a great week!

I've taken days off of work to clean. I love it and find it really relaxing. Infact, cleaning out my kitchen cupboards is one of my favorite things to do! :)

Great idea! Here in Georgia though the pollen is so bad right now that it hardly works to keep it clean inside. Maybe a good rain shower will help us. But it sure is the best thing to do in the spring ~ on that I agree with you wholeheartedly! Good luck.

I would take a day off to clean, too. I just love the feeling...good old fashioned spring cleaning. I am impressed that you even changed the shelf paper!

I'm on vacation in Florida and now after reading this I'm almost anxious to get home and clean! I LOVE cleaning...well, at least the feeling that comes after I'm done!

OK, I've gotta" BE IN THE MOMENT" and just ENJOY my vacation at the beach for now. The cleaning can wait.

Sometimes you need to get caught up to enjoy your home.

I'm retiring in June and can't wait to start cleaning and organizing years of thrift store clutter. How sick it that?!

Cindy, my husband is gone to China for 2 weeks--he travels quite a bit, but I use the time while he is away to clean and organize. It feels good and keeps me busy! I'll bet your home looks beautiful!

Good for you. Nothing feels better than to have a clean house. I cleaned good last week because of the crowd we had for Easter. Taking a day off wouldn't be enough for me, but it looks like you got a great start. I saw some lovely things I hadn't seen before too.

Sharon said...

Cindy, don't feel badly about taking one day to clean. I took a whole week last week to spring clean. I put it off as long as I could, but I had to do it eventually. I love the bookmarks by the way! Thank you.

Been cleaning windows and ceiling fans at our store.....wowie, they get so dirty during the year. We burn lots of candles and with the foot traffic thru the store, that kicks up lots of dust! I've even painted one our of larger display rooms......I'm raring to go! Ready for Spring and enjoying the warm weather that finally arrived here in Atlanta. Hope all was well with you during the earthquake.

I will admit it...I've taken a day off to clean & get stuff done around the house -- it's so much better than having it hang over your head!
