Napa Valley Part 3

Pin It Now!

This is part three and the final post of my day trip to the Napa Valley, scroll down to see part 1 and 2.

By late afternoon we were needing a cup of coffee to recharge and Dean & Deluca was the perfect place!
More amazing pastries to temp us...

Later in the evening it was time for dinner.  When we pulled in the parking lot of the restaraunt this is what we saw...more beautiful vine covered buildings...

I love the detail on these windows...

Tra Vigne was the restaurant my friend Kim picked for us...

They had beautiful garden gates...

and a very charming patio area...
and a huge front door...

the view from our table...

very good bread...

Kim and Natasha ordered soup before their meal.  I got a picture of that but forgot to take photos of our main course! Haha...I guess I was hungry and just wanted to eat at that point. The food was really good and our waitress was so nice!

Here's another shot of the patio outside the restaurant as we were leaving...

After dinner it was time to head home...

As we got on the freeway the sun was setting and I snapped this photo from the car.

Natasha and I joined a wine club at St. Supery so we will all be going back in June to pick up our wine. Why have it shipped when you can have another wonderful day in the wine country?

I feel so fortunate to have been born and raised in such a beautiful part of the country.  I feel like I should take a moment and thank my parents for moving out here before I was born...

Thank you mom and dad!

I have been reading all about your fantastic trip. It is wonderful that you have two friends that share the same interests. I think I put on 10lbs just reading and looking at the food along the way. I certainly sounds like you have a trip to remember. Thanks for sharing it with us. Valerie

Hi Cindy,
Yes. That part of the country is the most beautiful place. I have been to many places and I miss and love Santa Clara Valley. I was blessed to live there when it was heaven on earth. Perfect weather for growing flowers and veggies. Thank you for sharing Napa. I have been to Napa and you might try a trip to the Sonoma County wineries. I loved Chateau St Jean Winery. Thanks for your blog.

Oh my goodnes..your post is making me hungry! You didn't say whether or not you turned away temptations lure the second time around with those pastries...:-D I don't think I could have done it twice in one day. I'm pretty sure I would have eaten one of those coconut cupcakes! :)

Thank you Cindy for sharing, I miss my (childhood) home, my parents moved me to California when I was 6 years old (from Tennessee) I always felt out of place, now that I am back in the south (which I love) I miss the old prune yards and my west coast home!

Yes, you should definitely thank your parents. What a wonderful place to grow up and reside!

The desserts were to die for! I'll take one of those cupcakes with a cup of coffee, please. Or perhaps just a croissant.

Did you notice that woman's purse who is sitting on the stool? Interesting!

It looks like a perfect afternoon/evening to me : )

Cindy....That is so nice that you live so close to a beautiful area! Those pastries were so tempting! I am staying away from sugar so that makes them look even more delicious!~Patti

I love Dean and Delucca and alwways stopped there to see what gourmet food or toy I could bring home each trip. Being a chef.....well we do have to have our toys lol. Another winery I loved was Cakebread Cellars. I havent been in a long time so I hope they are still there. But if it is you must see the party room they have. I always wanted to have one there. Its like a scene from a movie with the walls lined with casks and a huge one at one end that actually has a table set up in it too. Would be a great place for a small wedding or an awesome wine party with friends.
