Words to live by

Pin It Now!

I would rather have flowers on my table than diamonds on my neck.

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I really do love flowers more than diamonds!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My lilacs have just started blooming and I can hardly wait to have big beautiful bouquets of them in my home!
I absolutely adore lilacs! My house is 97 years old and in our front yard there is the biggest lilac bush I have ever seen. In spring the scent from the lilacs comes into my house through the open windows. Just heavenly!
Lilacs are my favorite!
I agree about the flowers over diamonds. You can have more flowers for the price anyway, and share them with others. Lilacs are always lovely. Here in the Valley I look forward to the scent of orange blossoms and Honeysuckle.
We're kindred spirits! Diamonds aren't this girl's best friend . . . flowers are!!!
I agree! I did a post with pink buds on the trees. I just love to see them because I know spring is on the way. Also, yesterday I bought daffodils. They are just so HAPPY & they make me smile! Have a wonderful week. Charlene
If I had a diamond, it would most likely get lost in the flower bed, because that's where my hands are 'itching' to be right now! My snowdrift is gone and I'm ready to start raking and digging! Great quote for those of that LOVE flowers. ♥♪
You are so lucky to have lilacs blooming, I don't even think I have buds yet. Florence
You're not alone Cindy, only thing is you have a green thumb and I don't! I just did a post yesterday about the Ca. wild poppy fields that I'm sooo excited to go and visit again soon! And I don't care for diamonds at all...I'd hate to draw attention to my dishpan hands:)
Hello Cindy,
Cindy,
Lilacs are one of my favorite flowers. I practically swoon when I see pictures of them. In upstate NY, where I grew up, there are huge bushes everywhere.
Unfortunately, pictures are all I see of them now, because Texas is not prime lilac growing country!
I'll stand by you in the minority. I am 41 and got my first diamond last year from my mother-in-laws jewelry collection. I would much rather have flowers. I have never lived anywhere, where I could grow lilacs. I'm jealous.
My Cottage Charm said...
You're not alone! I could live my entire life without diamonds, but not one season without flowers. The joy that I get from flowers' appearance, fragrance and velvety texture couldn't be surpassed by even the Hope diamond. :)
Same here! My lilac is starting to bud! I've been nursing it along for 10 years here in CA. I grew up in WI and they were every were! They and lilies of the valley were my favorites growing up.
What Diamonds? Flowers For Sure!
I love lilacs, but I, also, love all of the diamonds that I have been fortunate to inherit. It will be another 2 months before we have lilacs in the yard - it is snowing this minute here in Colorado. Have a great week. Sally
I am with you! I often ask for rose bushes or plants over other presents, and I would rather have a bouquet from my own garden than the florist anyday.
Your photo is gorgeous! Such blue sky! Bella
I am so jealous, here in the northwest the lilacs don't flower until May!! Mine are just starting to get their first spring leaves. Oh well, I'll be enjoying mine a little later I guess:-) They are my absolute favorite to bring inside, they drop bitties everywhere but the whole house is infused with their gorgeous scent. Love it!
