Garden Angels

Pin It Now!

I went to the Alameda Flea Market today, but unfortunately I forgot to bring my camera even though I had it sitting right at the bottom of the stairs so I wouldn't forget it! There were some really beautiful things there and it was such I beautiful day, I sure wish I could have shared it with you. You'll have to settle with the photos of the things I bought. Most of which will be listed in my etsy shop but I did find a few things for myself.

When I saw this hanging angel head there were 3 woman standing over it. The price had been marked down from $65 to $35 and the vendor walked up and said she would take $30 for it. I blurted out "Sold" before I even realized what I had done. When I got it home and took off the price tag that was taped on I realized she had covered up the crack on the wing! Oh well, what's another broken angel in my garden. You may remember that other cherub I bought with a broken neck!
I also bought this urn, I think it was only $10.
It's looking like Spring in my garden! I have lots of pansies and Johnny jump-ups and my lilacs are starting to bloom. It even looks like there may be rose buds starting to form on one of my rose bushes! My fuchsia and my azaleas are also blooming! I love this time of year!

I'll have some new things in my etsy shop later this week...including some vintage linen and lace items!

I'm joining in on Mary's Mosaic Monday today! Stop on over and see everyone's mosaics!

Hey Cindy!
I'm glad you had a nice weekend and found some goodies. :) I am lovin' the angel...I don't mind garden things that have been cracked, I think it gives them character. :)
You should pop over to my blog and see what I figured out how to make! Yeah, I know it's a teaser, but I was so happy when I thought of this idea!!! :)
Happy Monday!

I think the cracked wing adds character. I have a cherub that has one wing completely chopped in half, my mom didn't want him anymore since it was broken so I adopted him. I love your garden!!! I'm excited to see all your flowers bloom:)

Love your angels but sorry you faced dishonesty of the vendor.
:-(
I know you'll put it to good use nonetheless. Have a good week, Cindy!

I wonder if we could see your blooming azaleas?
I have got some azaleas in my garden as well but snow is still on them :)

Cindy,

Love the cherubs and the urns. I'm glad that it was just a crack and not something more serious. Actually, the crack gives the piece a bit more character!

Looking forward to seeing more of your garden. As beautiful as your home is, your garden is really equally special!

Despite the crack, the angel head is still lovely.

I've always thought that the cracks and chips make such things all the more charming. Love the photos and would really like to see more of your garden. Spring is coming very slowly and cautiously here in NC this year.

My daughter and I went also. There was a post about the flea market @ poppytalk blog. Fascinating to see what people saw or didn't see. . .
it was an incredibly beautiful day for strolling the market.

Flea markets are so fun - never know what you might find!

Some people are sneaky like that. I bought a cherub at a thrift store and she only charged me $1.00 for it, because it had a broken wing... can you believe it? I will post it this week. Still you got a good deal with your angel and your pot.
Blessings!

Hai Cindy,

Long time no "talk"! You're talking about "garden angels" and I'm a little garden angel (tuinengeltje). That's the name of my website. Youre blog is still one of my favourites.

I just mailed to say "Hello"!

What a lovely site you have. I think the pansies look great in the urn. I am a major treasure hunter, if I could only learn how to include pics in my posts I could share some of my finds. Well, until I get it, I'll just enjoy your beautiful photos.
Thanks for sharing,
Tina :o)

Oh, I love that urn. That price is a steal. A couple of weeks ago I bought a $30 plate holder on clearance for $6 at Hobby Lobby. After I got it home I saw where it had broken and they glued it back together. I glued it again with Gorilla super glue and now you can't even tell. I think the angel was worth it. Doesn't a crack make it look 'shabby'?

Wow, now how did I miss those? I love that angel and think it's better she has a cracked wing, she has character. I know which angel you're talking about with a broken neck because I have one too but my cat knocked it off my balcony years ago, still love it to bits though. The urn is great too Cindy. Wasn't it the most beautiful day? Lucky us!
