Shopping Fun!

Pin It Now!

Shopping is so much fun now that I can buy things for my etsy shop! I haven't been buying much for myself lately because my apartment is bursting at the seams and I really don't need anything else. The good thing now is that I can still go to thrift stores and flea markets and look for treasures...I don't know why that is so much fun but it is!!! It's funny but buying for my etsy shop is a lot like buying a gift....I'm out there looking for something really special that I like and I think you will like too! I can't tell you how many times I pick something up and then put it back and think "no, that's not good enough".
I found these beautiful old German plates at a small thrift store just as they wheeled out a cart filled with items to put out. I spied these at the bottom of the cart and waited there for the lady to put everything that was on top of them on the shelves. I wasn't about to walk away and let someone else get them! I just love the detail on the rims. I buy things I like, that way if they don't sell I can keep them for myself! I could see these in my hutch!

Just down the street from the thrift store, in a little antique store, I found this adorable teapot with foxgloves on it. I love foxgloves...they just say "cottage garden" like no other flower. I bought this aqua cup and saucer awhile ago. I love this color! I also have some bowls available in this same pattern. These dishes are made in Ohio and are very affordable for vintage dishes.
I also found this cute little hand painted bowl last weekend. I just love the shape of it! These are all available in my Vintage etsy shop (on my left sidebar) along with some other things I found last weekend! (I have two etsy shops, one for my vintage items and one for my handmade items)
My goal for this shop is to find beautiful but affordable treasures for you!

Cindy~ You must be doing a good job
buying because it seems to disappear as soon as you list it.
You have very good taste, but that
reflects in your home. I was about
to purchase one of your things and
when I went to buy it was gone...
My luck, day late and dollar short..
LOL..:O)

Cindy, your new energy to help others find treasures you love is like each of us having a personal shopper! We benefit from your discretionary eye for beauty and from your choosing items that are only good enough to place in your home. What a generous gift you're giving to us. Thank you! ~Arleen

I love to shop especially for my friends and family!

I went to a local "antique" store today (not really ALL antiques) but it is fun to walk around and see what people are selling! Found a couple things for a friends birthday! Love your finds!

You have such an eye for beautiful things! I like your purchases.

I enjoy going to antique stores and malls too but I don't buy much these days unless it is small enough to fit somewhere in my curio cabinets...because I am out of room too!

But I love looking at your blog and all of the pretty things here.

Way to go, Cindy! I do understand the feeling that it gives you - I used to have a spot in an antiques shop, where I did shabby chic type stuff... the hunt was a thrill as was the makeover of an item. Then to have it go home with someone who wants it really is icing on the cake!

I love everything you have picked so far. So must everyone else, it seems to disappear quickly :) I love the detail on those dishes too.
You seem to have the same problems as I do. If it doesn't sell I will keep it, Haha. Only I have not been able to part with enough to start and etsy yet. Probably come spring, when my keep everything mood passes. At least that is what my husband is praying for ;)

What you are doing sounds like so much fun, but I would be tempted to keep to much myself. :-) I wish you much success.

Those plates! Violets maybe, or just wishful thinking on my part?

And the foxgloves--so unique. I always picture petite little foxes wearing them as mittens when they bloom (the flowers not the foxes) in my garden.

Cindy, just a little tidbit for you. The aqua and white teacup/ saucer that you have in your Etsy shop was the china in my home growing up. It may be of interest for you to know my mom bought this china at the local grocery store(in So CA). Back in those days (early to mid 60's) market's often gave the first few pieces as incentives, after that you could add pieces as the duration of this special lasted. The customer could purchase as many additional pieces as their budget would allow. I always grow very nostalgic when I see this pattern. Good times!
Btw, I have enjoyed your blogsite for the last year. I do not have a blog myself, I guess I am considered a "stalker"by those of you in blogland. At any rate, I spend several hours a week following my fav's, one of which is yours. I have borrowed so many wonderful ideas. Thank you for your inspiration.

I lOvE that turqoise tea cup! I was drooling over it the day you posted it. And if my hubby wasn't laid off from work(I'm a stay-at-home mommie, but now looking for work) I would be purchasing it! Your prices are very reasonable and so nice that you don't over charge for shipping. Best wishes with your new shop!

My what lovely plates you just scored. I would have a hard time listing those beauties on Etsy, we will completely understand if they find a nice home in your bursting cupboards. It just means those new plates will have loads of good friends!
