Show and Tell Friday

Pin It Now!

It's Show and Tell time again! This week I'm sharing 2 of the 3 things I bought last weekend at the flea market. You'll have to wait until next week to see the big item. It's outside and I haven't been able to get a picture of it in the daylight yet. Hmmmm, it's big and outside, I bet you're curious now, aren't you? Well, it's not a car! LOL

I bought this beautiful vintage pillowcase! It was marked $15 and when I picked it up the vendor said "you can have that for $10." Why does that trick always work on me? Actually, I'm really glad I bought it and $10 was a good price with all that drippy-lace edging! Since there is only one, I may not use it on my bed. I may just drape it over something.
I also bought this beautiful silver-plate serving spoon for only $6! It's so pretty and very ornate.
The dish in the first photo was from a previous flea market trip, I just needed something with a little color for the photo.

I was just going to leave a comment on your Alameda Flea market post and saw your BEAUTIFUL PIC for show and tell Friday. Wow! Cindy, can I post this pic (the first one) and send people to your site to tell them about Show and Tell Friday?
Have heard many wonderful things about Alameda (and lots of pics of fab goodies) and how I need to get down there!

They are both beautiful, but would say my favorite is the spoon. I think I would have to use the beautiful pillow case even without a match.

LOVE the lace on that pillowcase! Doesn't it make you wonder what happened to the other one? Kind of like when you see a shoe on the side of the road... ??? Thanks for being the hostess with the mostest! I've missed palying Show & Tell. So glad to be back! HUGS! Charlene

You lucky ducky, Cindy! I really wanted to go to Alameda last sunday...the weather was fabulous. Couldn't get anyone to go with me *pout*

I was drooling over the photos you posted. So many wonderful things!

The serving spoon is so charming and I'm crazy for the beautiful linen with the drippy lace.

You tease! Big and outside...and not a car. hmmmm Well, if you posted a photo of it in your previous post...it can't be the vintage cradle because you said it was already sold; the fabulous dresser w/mirror you mentioned was way overpriced. So, I'd have to guess that fabulous armoire..or the hair dryer with the coin operated tv ha!

I hope Lauren is feeling better.

O.K. Cindy ya got me wondering, big
and outside...hummmmm,is it a three
tier stand I wanted?LOL. I love
your spoon and your pillowcase. I
have some vintage linens that has
that same crochet border on them.
I not sure what mine was, they were
cloths when I bought them but I
think they were pillowcases at one
time. That is a very pretty dish
too,I was surprised it was not blue.:O)

You are a gal after my own heart. The pillowcase is just lovely.

Lovely!
I adore vintage pillowcases. The old "cheap" ones that my mom had when I was a kid never pilled like so many that I buy now a days, even expensive ones.
I hope my post of a potential/partly started craft project was ok to post. I'm so excited about it that I'm showing all my friends here in the physical world!

Cindy,
This is my first Show and Tell Friday.
I love your vintage pillowcase-- what a great find! You blog is so much fun to view. The flea market post was fabulous!

Great finds! I especially love the pillowcase. As someone who has made filet crochet lace edging, I know that $10 is a steal!
If you really paid even minimum wage for the number of hours that lace consumed, that pillowcase would cost an outrageous amount! I know you will enjoy!

Cindy, your blog has been a total inspiration to me and decorating (all over again), my personal space but one thing I'd like to ask. Would it be possible to somehow let us know (with a different color perhaps, like Susan at Between naps on the porch) when we have looked at participating bloggers on show & tell Friday. I always lose my place when I have to leave the PC and come back a day later. Just a thought. Jackie

I found you among the pages of Romantic Homes Magazine. How wonderful.

I need to buy lamps for my traditional livingroom, any suggestions? Everything is too tuscan and too brown. Help.

Cindy said...

Hi Anonymous, you're the first person to say they found me through Romantic Homes Magazine!

If you have a HomeGoods by you they have a great selection of lamps and their prices are really good! Also Marshalls and Target have some nice ones too. Good luck!

Cindy the fountian is beautiful and has a Antique-Unique look about it. Isn't it wonderful that you can call your Dad on DIY projects. I bet he loves hearing from his Little Girl and loves helping you out.
