A Shop of My Own!

Pin It Now!

It's always been my dream to have my own little shop one day. I'm not ready to give up on that dream but I'm not in a place financially where I could do that right now. The next best thing would be to start an online business with my own website but since I work full time I was a little afraid to make that commitment. I've now decided to set up a vintage shop on etsy! This is my way of taking baby steps towards my dream and if I like doing this as a side business I will be opening up my own online shop in the future so I can sell both new and vintage items.
My Vintage etsy shop is now open for business. I have 13 items listed and more will be added soon!

These photos are a sampling of what's available there.
It's going to be so much fun shopping at flea markets, thrift stores and garage sales for vintage and antique items that I can put in my shop! I have a link to my etsy vintage shop on my left sidebar so you can just click on that to go visit my shop or you can click here. Please feel free to leave a comment below and let me know if there are any items you would like to see there. (I'll only be shipping in the U.S. to start with but I may ship internationally in the future.)

I'll still have my other etsy shop for my handmade items. I'll be putting some more toile hearts up there soon! I also plan to make some more tassels!

Cindy,
As always your pictures are so inviting. I agree there is nothing wrong with draping a beautiful pillowcase and hankie combination on your hutch...using your logic because I too have beautiful handpainted plates hanging in my bedroom! I am sure your on line store will be a huge success!!! Lorrie

Congratulations, Cindy! What perfect sense it makes! It is so much fun shopping, but you can only fit so much into your house - right? So why not shop for others? And you are a great shopper.

Perfect.

YAYYYY so glad you took the step. I would love to find a Clotche...It's been so hard to find one around me, so I think those would be a great addition to the shop. Also Mercury glass. Best wishes in your new endevour.

Congratulations, Cindy! I added your shop to my favorites. I love the idea of you shopping for us, especially at Alameda. After your posts on that market I've been trying to figure out how to get down there for it! I'm most interested in bird cages, small garden ornaments/statues and architectural remnants. Will definitely keep an eye on your listings!

Congratulations on your new venture! You will be a big success! My daughter and I took the plunge last week and opened a booth in an indoor antique/flea market type mall last week. It's been a lot of work, but also lots of fun! It's so rewarding to hear positive feedback and see the sales report at the end of each day! I'll be doing a post later this week - my camera's charging as we speak so I can get some pictures!

Congratulations! You are well on your way to having your very own shop someday! I know it has been a dream of yours and I know you will do well. You've already accomplished the most difficult part of running a business, which is to get your name out there.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go visit your etsy before you're all sold out!

Oh Cindy, I am so happy for you! That's what I would love to do, too! I don't know about sending costs, though. I wonder if Etsy helps determine all the details. Anyway, I think that is a WONDERFUL idea! I wish you the absolute best. Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com

I love all the cherub items in your home so if you come across anything cherubic that would be great! And little birdcages, candleholders and shelves:) I'm so excited about this!!!

Cindy, I love your taste! I browsed through your etsy store and really like the items you put up.

I started my own online shop about 2 years ago (selling houseware products). I work full time and the site is something I do on the side. It's so much fun! I highly recommend my web developer and it was super cheap too.

Best of luck! And let me know if you like to any pointers!

What a great new venture for you Cindy, I know you will do well. I've been looking for one of the "Blogland" (blue floral) teapots and I noticed on your dish post a few days ago it was peeking out. If you could find another of those I would be soo happy. Also, as Nina Patrica said Clotches would be good too, tho I don't know about shipping costs. I'm be anxious to see what offerings you have. Thanks~~

etsy is such a good place to start. I've the same idea - one day I'll be opening my own website. In the meantime, etsy is easy and fun. I'm part of a group called the Cottage Style Street Team you might be interested in - it's fun to chat now and then with like-minded ladies! Some sell handmade things and others sell vintage items.
