Silver and a giveaway winner!

Pin It Now!

Saturday I received in a big box in the mail from my mom and dad. It was filled with vintage goodies! One of the items was this little crystal salt shaker with a sterling lid. It's so beautiful! There is only one so now I have a quest to find it a mate! In the bottom of the box was this gorgeous candelabra! My mom got this from a coworker many years ago. Her coworker had bought it an antique auction in San Francisco. My mom gave her a tea cart in exchange for this and they were both very happy with the trade! Now my mom has passed it down to me.

I think I need to get some ivory colored candles for fall though...
On Saturday morning Lauren and I went to a high school flea market that is close by. There really wasn't anything good there at all but I did find some silver flatware.
I got all of this for $10. What a deal. I came home and polished it all up. I've been wanting to collect mismatched silver flatware because I think it looks so pretty in a table setting. The knives are more ornate than the spoons and forks and there are a lot more of them. I think I counted 14 knives!
And now to the giveaway...
The winner of the white turkey for my October Giveaway is Kimberly ~ Romantiques Thank you all for entering!

Hi Cindy,
The candelabra is so lovely and very ornate, and has a special history behind it. I stopped off at a garage sale this weekend and purchased two lamps, I have a little fixing to do on them and then I will post them.
Enjoy your day and keep creating,
Elizabeth

Cindy,
I love the candelabra and the flatware and also the salt shaker. Until you find a mate for it, you could use it for powdered sugar or cinnamon. That was so sweet of her.

Stunning!
I love silve. My first realization was after my grandpa died we were cleaning out a barn of his. He was a pack rat! My mom saw something glimering in the dirt. When she pulled it out. It was a beautiful large sterling silve pitcher. My mom polished it up and every spring she would put fresh Lilacs in my room for a treat for me!

What sweet parents you have!
By the way, the silver piece you picked up at the sale is the same as my grandmother's... of which only a few pieces remain. It is the one with the hole in the pattern. So nice to see it.
Your blog is lovely!

I realy love all your goodies. But as i was looking at all of them, i saw your white three tier dish.. I just posted on my blog about getting on for one dollar and it is in bad shape, and what should i do with it. I see how pretty yours is white and i know now what i want to do. MIne does not have scalloped or lacey edges but i hope it will turn out just as pretty.

Dear Miss Cindy...

It's all so beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. You actually made me think about some flatware (silver plate) that belonged to my husband's grandmother. I need to go excavating, but hopefully I will find it. I used to be such a snob when we first got married, but the Lord has changed my heart. I'm loving the fact that everything doesn't need to match perfectly! It's amazing to have several different patterns at one place setting because you get the opportunity to enjoy more than one pattern. Isn't that great! I love it!

Hugs,
Penny Suzie

Oh my goodness...what an abundance of fabulous new treasures! The candelabrum is absolutely gorgeous and I adore mismatched flatware. If you don't find a mate for the little shaker, how about filling it with cocoa or cinnamon and using it when you serve mochas or lattes. I know I would love using that pretty little thing to make my drink all the yummier. Enjoy all of your new treasures, Cindy.
