So cute!!!

Pin It Now!

I've been so busy working on my bathroom that I didn't have a chance to take any photos for my blog today so I thought I would share this cute cake pan I just found. It's from William-Sonoma...I just love that store!!! I think this would be great cake to make with an ice cream filling! I may buy one but I'm seriously running out of room in my kitchen to store anything else! If I get this, something else will have to go! Totally off the subject but is anyone else freaked out about this Swine Flu? I don't usually get overly worried about these type of things but this one is scary! One of the high schools in Lauren's school district just closed down today for a week because of a confirmed case there. That's really scary to me because it's so close!

I am really trying not to freak out about the swine flu. I can understand your concern with it so close.

Eeek! Swine flu, so close. Be careful and remind your sweet girl to keep washing those hands.

As for your bathroom. I think it is your best work yet and can't imagine it looking better had you gone with the wallpaper. Your talent just keeps growing and growing. Thanks for the inspiration

Our school here in Texas sent a bus of Band kids to MEXICO. Can you believe that? Very Scary!

Yeah I'm freaked out because I go to UCSD and I'm 30 minutes from the border! I will get so mad if someone goes to Mexico or is coming back from there and gets me sick! I am staying in my house and only going to school and back. On a lighter note...cute cake pan! I love William Sonoma too!

All the best,
Allison

Cute pan. It makes a darling cake. WS is coming up with some really cute pans these days but I won't buy them as once you make the cake then what? I don't have room to store all those pans.

I am not worried about that flu at all. I just saw a dr talking and he said that the regular flu that comes around every year kills way more then this flu has. Most people are fine after a few days. Mexico doesn't have the same meds we have and that is why it's so much worse there.

That being said, I surely wouldn't want to get it and it broke my heart to hear a little child died from it today here in the US.

I think tv has made us all freak out when we shouldn't be.

Just wash your hands a lot and you should be fine.

Hugs,
Joanne

I had the same problem, being intimidated by the wallpaper around the pipes, etc. My solution was to put a chair rail around the room and wallpaper above it and paint below. The wallpapering part was actually very easy, as it turns out. It would be a snap for you, with your talent! Having said that, your bathroom is beautiful without the paper - as are all the rooms in your nest!

That is such a darling pan and would be perfect with an ice cream filling. Once we get a case of the swine flu that close to home I'll probably be freakin' out too. ♥

I love the cake pans & may buy them for my son & dil. They love oreo cookies!

I was glued to the news this morning! Yikes! I wash my hands a lot, but now I need to remember to keep my hands away from my face when I'm out.

Ok, I am totally in love with this pan.

We are being extra careful at school with our handwashing. Stay at least 6 feet away from sick people and last but not least, don't pet any pigs!

The swine flu is right up there with bird flu and all of those other things, but I can relate to you because we live in Carmel and not only have 2 kids that go to school, but my Husband works at a golf course where alot of his co workers travel to and from Mexico regularly, so, its a concern, but having 4 kids I try to not freak out or become to over protective.

What a cute cake pan! It would be great to have such a big Oreo as a birthday cake :0) regarding the flu... hoping and praying is all we can do and perhaps minimize contact to unknown and world-traveling people... I know it sounds stupid, but what more can we do?!?! Mira

Love, love the cake pan!!

We had a swine flue death here in Houston this week, but I'm not freaked out about it. The child had been to Mexico City, then flew home (that's my understanding). Sadly, people die every year from the flu. I know this is a deadlier strain, but I try to not to let it mean more than it does. I stay cautious of large crowds, etc. Trying to stay away from hospitals and doctors' offices.

That pan is Awesome!! I don't even bake much but I want it!

About swine flu ... as I type, they are discussing 6 suspected cases in MD, within an hour drive from where I live. Its getting closer to where I live and its scary. I have 2 young girls and them getting sick scares me more than anything.

Cindy....Oh how I love Williams Sonoma! My daughter and I go to all of their free classes! Love them!
As for the swine flu--I had a real melt down the other night about it. Like you, I don't typically get this way. I can see why you are so concerned! It's just too close for comfort! And, with so much travel to Mexico (Cancun, Aruba, etc), I think we all just feel so vulnerable. We just have to be more vigilant!
Hope you are all well!

Hi Cindy ~ Yes, the swine flu thing has been on my mind too, but your friend Joanne Kennedy's comment helped a lot. The media just loves to dwell on things, however it is scary when it's so close to home. There has been a confirmed case in the city my daughter lives in in MI.
The oreo cake is great.
You've given me courage to spray paint some shelves white ~ please show us how to antique them ~ pretty please:)

I am a healthcare provider and am home today sick with flu like symptoms. My husband is the one who is freaking out. I know they have cancelled all ballgames and activities in our community. But I am praying that the threat is mild. I work in a hospital so cannot stay clear of any diseases. In fact we must work over if needed during a crisis.

Karin, here is a technique you can use to antique your shelves. It was on my April 30th 2008 post.

What a darling cake pan! Leave it to Williams and Sonoma! They have the best stuff there!
I came home from work with flu like symptoms today too. I think it's from the "free lunch" we had at the office though. We all need to be careful and take good care of ourselves! I'm going to take a nap!

I'm trying not to get too nervous about this 'Swine Flu' but its hard with it now being in our country. I told my little boy to keep washing his hands at school and got him some hand sanitizer to keep in his book bag.

I love the cake pan! I have to have one!

Sue @ Not the Good Scissors! said...

That cake is adorable. I normally don't buy a lot of kitchen gadgets because of storage issues but I may have to purchase this one. Thanks for reminding me about Willimas-Sonoma. I haven't thought about them in a long time.

I am concerned about this flu. I am taking extra precautions. One thing I am doing is driving into work instead of taking public transporation and my hand sanitizer is always within reach. Here is my usual "Mom" advice, drink plenty of fluids, take your vitamins and get a good nights sleep.

Now that is a cute cookie cake....my grandkids would just love that...quick and easy....just how I like it....

I'm also concerned about the swine flu outbreak because I feel that the media is doing just the opposite of trying to scare us. I believe they're trying to keep people from panicking by down-playing the danger. It's spreading globally & that is definitely NOT a good sign. I don't blame you for being concerned..especially about Lauren. I'm just so glad that I don't have school-age children. Everyone should definitely take this seriously. take care! Sue

Love the cake idea & ice cream would be over the top wonderful. I did a post awile back with a display window from William Sonaoma/Cupcakes. That was my exact comment... I want them but, the storage!!!!!!! Where to put all our treasures. Hee Hee don't you just love this type of problem? Your bathroom is really coming together well. Love the blue & white!

I think the media has increased the panic on this. Hand washing is a must but it should have been all along. I was coughing yesterday in Costco and I was getting looks and people cleared out of my way. The only problem was I sampled some fruit drink was way to sweet and went down the wrong pipe...So my coughing was actually choking. I think everyone should be careful but stay calm.

Love the pan. I imagine mint chocolate chip in between the layers. I have a birthday coming up in my house...I might do this! So fun!

I think that cake pan is adorable, I bought everything to make the seashell cupcake and still haven't found the time yet. I'll treat myself to that after I make the cupcake.
One of my co-workers asked a Dr. that was testifying on a case at work about it, thinking that the Dr. would make light of it...the opposite occured..he was nothing but gloom and doom. Certainly did not make me feel better. I'm washing, washing and washing my hands some more..
Stay well. Mary

Hi Cindy.
My husband was telling me that 30,000 people die every year with the flu, so I'm not quite sure why the panic over this one. I think the media just like to hype things. I'm not going to worry about it.

Cindy,
I'm a nurse who works in an employee health clinic and we have been having a lot of people who are freaking out about the swine flu.
I believe that the media is partially to blame for part of the panic. Today nobody stays home when they are sick. We've had to send several people home and they look at me like I'm crazy.
First of all we need to keep our cool, realize that it is not millions of people who are infected now.
Above all wash your hands, don't cough on people and keep the same healthy habits that you would with other illnesses.
Other countries, especially Mexico don't have the anti-viral medications that we do in this country. We also have the best health care in the world.
International travel has made us all vulnerable but if we use good hygiene and common sense we will do the best we can to counter this problem.

Cute pan! I was wondering though how they get the chocolate cake to not have white on it from flouring or spraying the pan so it won't stick?

I am most definitely freaked out by the swine flu. Masks ordered from Amazon are on their way to my door. We live in Texas, and like California, there are quite a few cases here and it has begun to spread. I have an immune deficiency, so I'm in the danger population. I'm already limiting how much I'm out in public and every visitor to our home is heading straight to the sink to wash their hands. I'm usually practical, but I'm definitely not a germophobe. This has me concerned though!

Susie Mitchell said...

Oh Cindy...That's a very cute cake pan...there's always room for just one or two more little pans! LOL
I think we may all be freaked out about swine flu before it's over. The report I heard said it will be at least July before they even have a vaccine against it to test on people. It is very scary. Carry disinfectant wipes with you...use them to open and close doors...for shopping carts...wash your hands...Dawn is considered to be one of the best germ killers we can use. If you can avoid crowds...do so. Avoid public rest rooms and water fountains if at all possible. Eat at home. Be cautious of what you might handle or purchase at thrift shops, flea markets, or yard sales. I know many people who buy up wholesale lots of used goods to resell. Never mind that those products are handled by many, many others. I think that's as good as we can do...use all our knowledge to stay safe from it...and be wary if we develop symptoms. Check on the folks you know who are elderly or ill...especially those with respiratory problems...and those with small children. Encourage them to take precautions. Those people will be the most vulnerable.
Blessings, Susie

I just wanted to let you know how calm your site makes me feel. It is beautiful and loverly. Great job on the bath! Malaria kills more than 3000 people everyday. Media/government have a tendancy to distort our opinions for us. Remain calm. The 76 swine flu vaccine killed more than the flu did. And the side effects of Tamiflu are the same things that you are trying to avoid. Just remamber basic hygine, vitamins, liquids, healthy eating, and rest.

Today the Ft. Worth school district closed all their schools until, at least, May 11th. This effects 80,000 students and 11,000 employees.

What does this mean? It means that the movie theatres, malls, fast food places, etc. will be overrun with kids! In my opinion, hardly the way to contain the virus.

On a lighter note, love that cake pan. :-)

Before freaking out on the swine flu go to mercola.com and look for his article on the swine flu (you can type it in his search box to find it). It's a great article. Cindy, your cake pan is soooo cute! I cannot get things like that here in Grenada.

That is a darling cake pan!!
Like your recent eBay finds too, great deals!
And take care, I know we now have confirmed cases of swine flu in our state and area. They keep interrupting regular programing for updates. They closed one school for sure in Seattle and are talking of closing others if the other kids are confirmed to have it. And my hubby just told me a kid he gives lessons to was sick, hope he does not have it or spread it to those at my hubby's one job or to us.
I am not panicing but trying to stay aware and prepared.
I have a compromised immune system so have to be careful!
