A special thank-you to the IRS

Pin It Now!

I would like to thank the IRS for depositing my tax refund into my bank account so quickly so I could splurge on this gorgeous Johnson Brothers cherub pitcher I found on eBay! I would have never spent $75 on this had I not been getting a big refund this year! To be honest, I have no idea if this was a good deal or not but I saw it and I had to have it and the timing could have not been any better!
I put a teacup next to it so you can see how HUGE it is! Perfect shabby chicness!
The roses in the pitcher were marked down to $5 a dozen at the grocery store, just like the ones I showed you yesterday!

Wow, is that pretty! I love pitchers and I love roses. . . I'm going out of town for a few days so we have no fresh flowers right now... sigh. I'm almost thinking about starting to bring some to work every week so my office looks more cheery. :D Everyone here keeps their offices so impersonal!

Good for you for doing a little splurge on yourself. You work hard for your money and deserve it. Isn't it funny how getting a refund is like getting free money when the truth is it was your hard earned dollars to begin with. Sort of a little savings account for yourself.

I think everyone should get at least one thing with they love with the refund check as it's a little reward for yourself.

Enjoy!

Romantic and beautiful !!!!
I can see why it was so appealing
....it's totally you. Love it and
the roses make it complete.
Sometimes we all need to splurge
on ourselves. It can be as simple as the little bird salt and pepper
shaker from Target or a more exquisite piece. We deserve it !!

Wow, gorgeous pitcher! I love the colors on it -- the blue is really unusual. Most of my big pitchers are plain white, but now I think I have seen the promised land -- color!

My IRS refund went to help pay what we owe the state of New Jersey!

Not nearly as much fun.

Thanks! Cass

Beautiful vase!

Cindy,
That is a gorgeous pitcher! I love the little cherubs. I haven't even filed my taxes yet! I saw a beautiful clawfoot tub at Lowe's that I just love! I keep telling myself that I need it!

Come look at my last post about the old house for sale in my hometown. They have reduced the price to $145,000. Can you believe that? I bet it would be way more than that where you live. I plan on going to see it again soon and I will take pictures of the inside. Let me know what you think. I want to find out the history of it but I don't know how to go about it.

Wow, I probably would have bought that too. I love it! But then, I'm so trying to cut back and save more. With this economy, I like extra $$$$ in the bank. So, I'm trying to stay off Overstock.com, Ebay and out of the brick and mortar stores (even the thrift ones). It's amazing how much extra $$$ I can put into the bank when I do that!! I'm shocking myself, and my husband!

Blessings,

Sher

Cindy,
I think it was well worth it. I bought one a few years back and paid $95 cdn, but in the end its how much you love it that counts and of course the affordability. This is simply too lovely! Adore the color and angels and the tea cup lends itself well to it. Good buy.

Holy cow, I am SO incredibly behind in my blog reading!
I've been catching up with you and this post stopped me in my tracks! OY, what a find! I'm frugal too, but this pitcher is definitely worth $75. Absolutely exquisite!! I love and collect cherubs as well and will forever be jealous of this beauty, lol!

Enjoyed your cherub post too, esp. the shot of the one reflected in the mirror.

The homes near your son were awesome, and gardens too.

Congrats on your new sofa, woohoo! That extra slip cover WAS a steal! It looks fab~

As always, tons of eye candy here. Thanks for posting and sharing.

I've GOT to get me a faux chocolate bunny....

Happy Spring!
