Autumn?

Pin It Now!

The leaves are starting to change color here in Northern California but it sure doesn't feel like Fall... it was 86 degrees here yesterday! It's beautiful weather but I'm ready for it to cool down a bit. The weatherman said next Thursday the temps will drop below average! Yay!

The HGTV "Rate my Space show" I was on will air again three more times. The episode is called "A Romantic Cabana with an Island Vibe" Here is the schedule:
Sat. Oct. 25th 11:00PM ET/PT
Sun. Oct. 26th 3:00AM ET/PT
Sat. Nov. 8th 5:30PM ET/PT

Update: I had put the wrong dates above, they are now corrected. Thank you Joanne!

I made the photo mosaic above last year using other flickr member's photos. It's one of my favorite mosaics I've done!

I've been tagged and given some awards and I'm going to try to get to those this weekend!

So beautiful. I always have a hard time deciding if I like fall better or spring. Being originally from South Louisiana, I'm still stunned by the colors of fall each year. It's just glorious!

WOW!! I can't believe it's 85!! Right now our outside thermometer is reading 30!!

Neabear said...

I am north of you I think. In the north bay area. Meaning north of San Francisco, for those who might be reading this and not know what the North Bay area is. Anyway, we also have temps in the 80's here too. Mornings are cool though. I use my car heater on the way to work and the air conditioner on the way home. Crazy huh?

Fall in California is my favorite season, not too hot, not too cold. I can't wait to move back home in a couple of months!

Cindy your flickr picture is gorgeous. I tried going on the website and making one, but with dial up it was taking way too long to upload my pictures.
I talked to my brother a couple of days ago in Southern Calif. and it was 95* there. We are using our heater already here in Utah. (just in the morning to take the chill off). I think I'm missing summer already. lol.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful pictures. It's definitely fall here. It has been a little cold this week and I've really enjoyed the change.

I love your blog! All your beautiful things presented so well in your photos. Do you use a flash when taking photos? Any special tips on how to take photos you can share with us?

I'm going to try to clean some vintage tea towels I have as you suggested. I refused to get rid of them and hope your method works!

That is a beautiful collage - fall is one of my favourite seasons - so colourful and crisp! (Well, not where it's 86 degrees, but I'm a little further north)

The photos above aren't mine but in general I never use a flash. It really washes out the photos. Luckily my camera (Canon Rebel XSi) takes really good photos even in the dark and I lighten them up a bit if I have to with Photoshop. I think another important thing is to crop your photos to just show the best part. I think almost every photo I take has been cropped a bit. I also take a lot of photos of the same thing and pick the best one.

Hi, Cindy. Thx for the schedule for the show. Hope I'm able to catch it one of those times.

I love the collage. It so beautifully displays the glories of fall.

Best. Joanie

p.s. it's 52 degrees here today in Zone 6/7. We've already had frost. Enjoy your warmer weather.

Pretty photos. I'm happy you posted about when the show will be on again as I missed it. I hope you will give a reminder when it's closer. I don't think my DVR goes a month ahead so I hope I don't forget to tape again.

Hugs,
Joanne

Cindy~Thanks for the airing dates. Can't wait to see you again. Did you see the makeover room on Angelo Surmelis' blog site called Design Geek? He posted it on Tues Oct 21st under "Island Style". It mentions you as an inspiration for the room. You'll have to check it out!

Love the collage since Fall is my favorite season.

Have a great weekend.

This so lovely, it would look lovely framed and on a wall. Maybe above a fireplace. I'd love to learn to do this. Everything is still blooming and green here. I wish we out on the road working, I always got to see the seasons change in alot of states, I only did not like it when the pollen was high. Allergies stayed bad, we would hit each state just at the pollen season. I love to go to the mountians, and watch fall come in its beautiful, just as your collage.

Hi Cindy,
That collage is just beautiful! I am so lucky to live in an area that has beautiful fall color...

I crack up every time you mention the size of your apartment. It's so hard to believe it's so small. Your decorating is soooo GRAND...to me it's like the perfect Princess Castle. I absolutely love it!

It's beautiful! I haven't figured out how to do those yet. Just not enough time in the day, it seems! It was actually cool enough here last night that I got up and turned on the heater. But I'm back in shorts today. Probably the only one in town who is, as everyone here thinks mildly cold is very cold. But I grew up in Oklahoma with horrid winds.

Hi Cindy,
I love to look at fall pictures. Here in Arizona (in the valley) we dont have alot of trees that change colors. It does make me home sick though. I was born in California and lived in Washington state for 20 years before moving here. I miss the four seasons.. Anyways thanks a bunch and happy fall!!

Oh, the glorious collage of Autumn photos really reminds me of the traditional colors of fall. Sadly, we really don't get those colors where I live in Northern California. However, it's so warm today that I'm working in the backyard in shorts & a t-shirt!

Love the mosaic especially the middle photo of the pumpkins. Aren't they fun to make? Fall is lingering here in New England and I couldn't be happier. All the glorious color is a little distracting though, especially when I should be working and not looking out the window.

Hi Cindy,
You take the most amazing photographs. When I want to escape I come into my computer and play your slideshow of photos.
It is so soothing and beautiful.
Thank you for giving the information regarding picture taking. I know what I want to see in my pictures but just seem to come up lacking with skill in the photography department. I will be trying your tips. What settings do you use the most, portrait, auto, indoor etc?
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Cindy!
How are you?!? Thank you for the tips on cleaning chandeliers, I'm planning on cleaning mine today. If you have time, please stop by my blog and check out some pictures I put up a few days ago of my china cabinet. I wanted to get your opinion because I've been thinking about painting the INTERIOR of the cabinet, just to give it some depth. Maybe a creamy white, although all of my friends and family are telling me not to (they think I will ruin it). I'm pretty set on painting it, but this seems to be your area of expertise, so I thought I would ask. Just if you have time, no rush.
Thanks, Have a great day!
Angela
