In case I haven't said it enough....Thank You!

Pin It Now!

I'm in love with this cookware from Williams Sonoma and I was planning on professing my love of it today here on my blog to all of you but Frosty left another comment yesterday and said that I'm too in love with my "things". He (whoever commented that Frosty is probably a man was right!) thinks I'm too wrapped up in material things and not people and that I haven't thanked you all enough for "praising" me all the time! I know I've said thank you here before but he's right, it has been awhile since I have said it, so I'm taking his advice and saying thank you! Really...thank you! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving all your wonderful comments! You are what makes blogging fun...it wouldn't be fun for me to just be talking to myself here! I have met so many wonderful women through this blog, true kindred spirits, and it has been one of the best experiences of my life. I know that sounds so dramatic but it's how I feel. I love reading your comments and emails and I don't even mind negative comments because it gives me another perspective on things. Mike (Frosty), you are welcome to leave comments but don't be so mean! Also Mike, if you think that what you see on my blog is a reflection of the whole me then you are so wrong, I have other interests and people in my life that I care deeply for but my blog is mainly about my hobby which is decorating and if you really think I care only about material things and not people maybe you didn't read this post.

Okay, enough of that and back to decorating. Sandy, who reads my blog, sent me a photo of her beautiful blue armoire! I just had to share because it is so gorgeous!

Oh and regarding that cookware above...I love it but I would never spend $400 on one pot!!! Not that I even could afford to!

We love you too!
Honestly, anyone reading a blog about ANY topic could assume the person was 'one sided'. I think that is insane. The fact that you make your house beautiful and welcoming and come here FOR the social aspect is a sing of who you are.
My fellow dog groomers know me as a lecturer and speaker. They know me as a business owner. They don't know anything about my blog. The same goes for my blog pals. Just b/c our life is multifaceted doesn't mean we have to be all things to all people.
FFFFFFFFT to frosty!

You know, I probably know you better than almost anyone who reads your blog, (I bet Tudie reads, and she knows you oceans better, but you know what I mean), and I've never known anyone who was more kind and caring. LOL So funny that "Frosty" thinks you are so shallow and one sided... Just plain silly! Not to mention, if he was thinking that would endear him to you, ummmm, maybe that's why he's hunting for a partner in blogland. Hmmmmm.

That armoire you showed is EXACTLY the technique I was so clumsily trying to suggest yesterday. I'm glad someone sent you a great photo that shows it.... :D

Hugs,
Tember

P.S. That pot, OMG, that pot.... I can't afford it either, but it is beautiful eye candy.... even if I could afford it, I don't think I would ever pay that much for a single pot.... hee hee

Wow...I think Frosty must need some human interaction because he seems to be going SO far to provoke respones from you and us readers. Maybe he likes controversy.

Many blogs are set up around a main subject or interest...we hunt down blogs because they line up with our interests and then we get to know the people and enjoy them. If your blog was simply one where you talked about the people you loved I probably wouldn't read it because I don't know those people. Personal blog vs. blog for public consumption.

LOVE that pot...love it...love it...maybe I'll find it at a garage sale one day :D

I think Frosty knows you some how and wants to get to know you better....why else would he be reading your blog all the time and leaving comments??? Except doesn't he know that boys stop treating girls that way in grade school 'cause they learn manners and the right way to do it! We only know him as a grump, but I'm sure he has many endearing qualities, except he doesn't show them to us on your blog, is he one sided? :^)

Dear me...all this brutal truth! Love it or leave it, right? I hope no one wanders over to my blog and thinks I'm all about complaining. Maybe I need to reevaluate what I talk about on my blog! Ha! Don't stop talking about your things, though! WE love it!!!!

I love ya Cindy :) And us bloggers know we are appreciated! Just as I appreciate all of the lovely comments I receive! If it wasnt for the wonderful comments I get, I probably wouldnt still be blogging! But I have come to value and care about everyone that reads/comments on my blog. Also, doesnt Frosty understand that we blog about our interests?? It is NOT the only thing we are about for goodness sake! We do it to find and interact with those that have the same hobbies and passions! I think he has a crush on you myself :)

Love ya,
Amy

Hi Cindy!

You've created this blog to mostly be a fun decorating blog and that's what we all enjoy. I click in for ideas and inspiration. Frosty, apparently, needs to rethink the concept of blogging. Blogs take all kinds of forms, but I don't believe any blog could ever express how complex any person is.

Cindy, you seem very caring and grateful to your blog readers. Besides, there's no rule that one has to give blog readers praise and thanks. If Frosty is lurking or commenting and doesn't like the blog, then that is what it is. But, if I were you, I skip reading the frosty comments!!

I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MUCH INSPIRATION YOU PROVIDE TO ME (AND A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE, I'M SURE). I HAVE TAKEN MANY OF YOUR IDEAS AND INCORPORATED THEM INTO MY HOME, WHICH IS NOW MUCH COZIER THANKS TO YOU AND YOUR IDEAS. DON'T LISTEN TO FROSTY!!! I, FOR ONE, LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING THE WONDERFUL THINGS YOU PICK UP FOR NEXT TO NOTHING.

OMG! My husband and I were window shopping this last weekend I saw this cookware in the window at WS. I said almost the exact same thing! I LOVE it but would never pay that for it. It is beautiful.

~Liz~
PS. If Frosty is sooo put off by your blog, then why does he keep reading it? Your blog is bour what we are interested in. Like a Magazine. I wouldn't open up a car magazine and expect to find an artical about decorating. DUH!

Kether said...

I don't understand frosty at all...
why come and complain about a person? why not just move along? I think that frosty has some personal issues he needs to take care of. How small can a person's life be that he needs to come here and belittle you to feel better?

On to your blog...Your blog is one of 250 that I read... they're all kinds of subject matters...but yours is one of my 'eye candy' blogs where I just LOVE to come see your photos and enjoy what you share of your home. Yours is one of the first I click on when I See it pop up in my feeder, because I know that the pictures are going to soothe me, and make me happy.
I wouldn't mind reading about the rest of your life, of course, but I chose you because you are a decorating blog and I love that about it.

Michele said...

OMG Cindy...I agree, he must know you or know about you. And want to get to know you better. Otherwise, there would be no reason to leave you such messages.

I love your blog and am so glad I found you. I've learned so many decorating tips and things that I want to try in my own house.

Hugz,
Michele

Well to me it sounds as if "Frosty Mike" might have a thing for you.

Don't judge the book by it's cover Mr. Frosty Mike.

I think you've said thanks many times. And I am sure we all know when someone leaves a comment we do appreciate it.

It's so funny how a blog can bring out the best in someone.

Do what you love, and that's all I have to say.

Ciao

Frosty is certainly a negative person and doesn't understand what a blessing it is to have a hobby that also creates a lovely home. Phooey on Frosty! BUT most of all - I LOVE that beautiful, blue armoir you posted. Its gorgeous!!

I love your Blog!! I was so excited when September emailed me and said that you had contacted her! You two are so talented!! I can't even create a blog, much less the beautiful blogs like you and September have!! I will be out in California sometime in the next month, once I become a Grandma for the first time!! I told September that I would love to get together with the two of you!! Email me soon and I will keep you up to date on my upcoming trip to California!

Take care,

I think Frosty must be seriously lacking in the self-esteem department. That's usually why people try to make others look bad.
And, I'm thinking...if he thinks your blog is so bad...why does he continue to visit?
I love your blog, as do many others. Keep up the good work!!

I think 'frosty' has a crush, actually. :-)

I have enjoyed reading your blog, as I have never, ever 'blogged' before and found yours quite by accident when I 'google-d' Wisteria to get a map for my recent trip to Santa Cruz (Wisteria is my all time favorite too). I have since been reading your blog silently and enjoying your recipes, photos, projects and for sharing painting technique with your readers!

Not many of my other friends enjoy my same love of antiques, antique/vintage stores and flea markets, home decor, finding treasures and enjoying the beauty of a single rose - so I was happy to see so many other kindred spirits out there!

Only one of my pals has the same 'affliction' that I have and if you are ever in Sacramento area, check out my girl friend's store - Fleuri - it is fabulous and you will love it!

I say 'thank you' for all your blogging and keep it up!

Well I for one would not be offended if you loved the pot more than us because that is one darn gorgeous pot. There is no way I could compete with a pot like that. If I had that pot, I would love it too. $400 is just a wee bit steep though. LOL Doesn't seem to make much sense. I'd pay $400 if it would cook dinner for me! : )

Look how many people comented last time. Amazing, that is all the people you inspire with ONE of your hobbies. Did I say Hobbies. We all enjoy decorating thats why we like to see all your neat creative ideas and yes "thingies". Beautiful thingies. I mean anyone who goes on ladies blogs about decorating...C'mon now we ARE LADIES and we should be enjoying LADIES things. I'm not on the football or tool blogs.

Unknown said...

Oh lol, Cindy! I had the same thought as some of your other readers- Frosty Mike reminds me of the boy who likes the girl and shows her by being mean! Boys!

Okay, I'm gaga over that cabinet! YES, that's exactly how you should do it. I have a little oak jewelry armoire in my bedroom and you and Sandy have inspired me to "go blue"!

Mary said...

Wow, for $400. it ought to come with a month's worth of dinners already in it!

Cindy, you do not need to say "thank you" to any of us. You give so much more pleasure with your wonderful posts than you could ever get back in comments. And I, for one, can attest to your generous nature. I thank you again for the beautiful tole tray you gave me, and for all the blogging experience you have shared also.

Well, I never had the impression that you were a material girl. I enjoy your blog and your decorating. That is one beautiful pot, but holy cow that's expensive. And I thought my goofy pots were pricey. Yikes chicka! Well, here's to someday having enough money that you can have that beautiful cookware and not give it a second thought.
That blue cabinet is absolutely gorgeous! If my husband didn't hate blue...

Please, let's not give Frosty any more airtime.

As for the pot, I love it. In fact, I might trot right down to
Williams Sonoma and take a look tonight. But I will only take a look. $400 is a little steep for me. That's two nights on Martha's Vineyard!!

Tracy said...

I don't think $400 is too much for something that will make you happy. That being said, I could buy a lot more than one pot's worth of happiness for $400! (Though, the little pea pod on the handle is too cute...)

Dear, dear Cindy,
I am sure that like me you get inquiries from bloggers just starting out on how they can draw more readers, etc.
I always reply that a blog stands for a web log, an online JOURNAL, that a person is willing to share with others. As with any journal I encourage others to write about what they love and know. If you are writing for yourself then it will never matter whether you have readers or not.
As a blog reader I am always SO thankful that someone (such as yourself) shares little glimpses of their lives with me.
If there is a blog I cannot relate to or that I can't say anything nice about then I JUST DON'T READ IT or comment on it.
It's that easy.
Hang in there and please keep writing, I love what you do.

Cindy, Frosty just doesn't understand the concept. There is a small little saying that says.. If you are hungry and you have two loaves of bread, sell one and buy flowers. while one will nourish the body the other will nourish the soul! decorating and creating nourishes my soul,it fulfills the artistic creative part of me and what better way to express that than to share with others. My theory on Frosty is that they are very lonely and jealous of the all the truly wonderful things you are. I have been reading your blog, you are very kind human being (How about the story of the lost old lady... where was frosty then?) The name truly applies Frosty cold individual. You are giving Frosty way too much attention (which they want) and taking it away from your wonderful home.....enjoy 3hearts/Miami p.s. why does Frosty keep reading your blog? Don't let them steal your inner light.....

I don't post here often like I should but I do read every single day.

It's saddened me to see the negative comments you've been receiving lately. You certainly have handled them all with grace. You've proven yourself to be a true "lady" in every sense of the word.

As for the armoire, my unspoken vote for yesterday was blue. Sandy's is absolutely gorgeous. It appears to have some kind of whitewash finish over the blue? Particularly over the appliques? Is that right? Could you share with us the technique she used? Or link to her site where she shares that information? I'm not sure which of your readers is Sandy, but I'd sure like to know more about her armoire. :-)

Cindy, I could just repeat what everyone else is saying. You're doing a great job of responding to negativity. Love, love, love Sandy's blue armoire. That should clench the decision. I also loved that pot, but did you see that the handles have to be removed to put it in the dishwasher? That's kind of a pain for a $400 pot. Of course, yogapaws made it even more enticing. I think I'm right on the handle thing, but I was reading it right before bed and might not have been terribly coherent. Happy blogging!

If this person knows you but hides behind a fake name then there is something wrong with them also. It's not cute or flatering. It's creepy!!

This person needs to grow up and move on. They are not normal by no means and they know you are living alone with your daughter and what city you live in, what type of car you drive and all sorts of things about you.

I love coming to your blog. It's beautiful.

That pot is gorgeous, but I agree it's too pricey for a pot.

I've found that blogging brings all kinds of comments. Some folks I know 'in real life' think it's plain ridiculous to have one, but I say to each his or her own. I enjoy reading them, and it's been interesting having one.

At first I felt rather self-indulgent having one, but then I realized people seem to read them, and yes they even read my little, simple blog. Blogs are shared and thus aren't so self-indulgent as others enjoy them so much. Wasn't it once said (Goethe): "A joy shared is a joy doubled."

Take care and thanks to YOU for such a great blog.

P.S. Poor 'frosty' . . . What a sad and pitiful person to speak such unkindness to you and about your inspiring blog.

Just keep on being your sweet creative self!! */:-)

Frosty is looking for attention - I say we all ignore him and he will go away!

Would someone please tell me why Mike (aka FROSTY) is even bothering himself with your blog (or anyone else's for that matter)? I'm so tired of people who insist on spreading hatred. Get a life. Cindy, we all know that your blog (for the most part) is about decorating and that's why we visit so often -- we love it. And, we love it when you also add your personal feelings about life and other things. You seem like a lovely person -- maybe you could rub off on Frosty and he can melt@!@ Joanne ~~ glamourgirljoanne@yahoo.com

Cindy, I would advise you to just ignore all the comments that he leaves for you. It's not good to encourage these types. Today is September 11th and I am sitting in NY in front of my television crying my eyes out over those who perished (including friends of mine). Please remember them and God bless the US. This is important -- not the haters. Joanne ~~

Love your blog and always look forward to seeing your next project. Sounds like "Frosty" has to much time on his hands and not happy with own life, so goes out of his way to criticize others. If people like that channeled that time and energy to do or say something nice, the world would be a better place. Just my "2 cents" worth.
Keep up the good work.

Cindy,
I want to say thank you to you! You've created a beautiful spot for me to visit and I find your decorating inspiring!

Keep up the great blog!

I meant to add, I agree with the others by saying ignore him. He obviously is looking for attention.

Cindy, I read your blog nearly everyday and love how you decorate. Would I do everything the same in my house? Of course not! But I love to look at different styles. That's what's so great about blogs. If you only cared about your "things" you would not have had the reaction to that little old lady that you posted about. I agree with the person that said Mike probably has a crush...but really! Stop this childish behavior and either man up and ask her out or stop these silly "challenges". Cindy, you're great just the way you are! Cheryl in California

I loved that pot too; the finial is adorable. As much as I like to cook and cook from scratch every day, I don't think all my cookware combined ever cost that much. There are children starving in this country for Pete's sake! But, oh yeah, I would love it. And I think it also comes in Copper, heart be still.

It's taken me a lifetime to figure out what I like (decorating wise and so much more, lol). And, right now, I have really found cottage to be my favorite. So, of course, I love all my "things" and would be sad to not have them and happy to find a new wonderful "thing" to add to the pile.

Does that make me "materialistic"? I can love my things and still put people first.

And, I love your things too!!

Cindy...I went back & read your post about the old lady that you so kindly helped. I am so curious now. Did you ever go back to that house to find out if anyone there really knew her? I think I would have HAD to go back just out of curiosity's sake. Just know that you did the right thing by helping her that day. You just might have saved her life! Sue

Hi Cindy - I love your blog as I have emailed you numerous times asking specific questions so I could do something "similar" to some your own decorating ideas.

As to "Frosty" - I am wondering if he might actually want to "chill" with you LOL!!:) :) :)

I love your blog and all the time and effort you put into it to make it so special. You have beautiful things and don't mind sharing with us along with your tips and projects which are invaluable to us that don't even know where to begin to start. I know I don't comment much but it is a true pleasure to check out your blog every day. I look forward to it. Don't pay any attention to "frosty". He needs to get a life and leave you alone. There is more to life than criticising others and he needs to find it. Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to read your wonderful blog.

I love your blog and wouldn't want you to change anything about it. It is such a bright spot in my day.
Thanks!

If you weren't so nice, you would've told Frosty to take a hike by now!!

When I saw those pots on Williams Sonoma, I had the same feeling -- LOVE!! Then I saw the price and the love fest was over :-)

Thumpity thump thump, look at Frosty go! I hope he just melts away from your thoughts like the snow in the christmas caroll. I am all for honesty, but not anonymously! Thats just cowardly.

Keep the eye candy coming, you obviously are pleasing a lot of people, me being one of them.

I say don't give Frosty and recognition . . . it's what he wants. I'd actually be a bit wary - does the term 'stalker" sound too far out there?

LOVE the pot - even when I used to work for Pottery Barn (owned by WS) I could barely afford their things WITH my discount!!

Frosty is a bone-head.

Frosty, get a life.....this blog is clearly about a passion, not a person's entire life....get over yourself! Cindy, no thanks necessary. Some of us love beautiful things and sharing with others who have the same passion....please keep on sharing yours.....

I enjoy your blog. As for Frosty, don't give him any notice, or respond to the comments. Who cares what this person thinks, and why does he read your blog?

said...

I think it is obvious to 99.99% of those who read your blog and others like it that it is primarily a home decorating blog. I wouldn't give this frosty person another thought and I wouldn't respond or acknowledge his comments in the future if I were you.

I think you are passionate about your home, decorating it and at the same time having fun. Your blog is about that, not your personal, private life. Frosty the snow man needs to get a life and not be so judgemental.
Geeeezzzz!

Cindy, we all know you are a lovely person, and care very much for people, but we all need hobbies, but that doesn't mean we don't care.
Don't take any notice of this one person, maybe he needs a hobby too!! lol

please don't change a thing about your blog. I love to see your "things". And what's so wrong about enjoying decorating? Of course, that's not what you are all about and anyone who reads you is already aware. Don't give Frosty any attention...he is obviously starved for it and watches to see if you will mention him. IGNORE!

Honestly, Cindy, this individual scares me. He really sounds like he could be stalking you, and with all the info that he knows about you, you should be careful. He may be someone very far away (hopefully), but he may also be nearby.

He is obviously flying his freak flag somewhere, and you need to NOT give him anymore opportunities to grow his obsession/ego through comments. I would delete all of his comments immediately, and even consider not accepting anonymous comments any longer (like this one - I have a blog, but am commenting anonymously, because I don't want Mr.Bates visiting mine!).

~shudder~ this guy gives me the creeps. There is something not right about him.

First....I love that pot and im gonna check that out next....

2nd..Frosty signed his name: Mike Frostad,....so this is not really an anonymous comment. There is actually a married doctor by that name in Washington. but......what man do you know that starts his sentences with "Okay"? or says "lets talk" when trying to make a point? orrrr says "jeeeeze girlie"!!!!!!!!!

ok I could go on but i will stop there, lol! whatever he or she was trying to say is simply meaningless. Your are a fabulous designer and everyone loves you and your blog.......like maybe ROMANTIC HOMES MAGAZINE, or ROMANTIC COUNTRY!.....tsk tsk jealous ones.......

Don't change a thing my friend and keep on doing what you do, because if people are willing to pay to see your work....then your doing things the right way.

your friend,
Lena

Cindy, I don't have a blog or a home worth showing off but since I found "YOU" I've started painting old furniture and making things I once didn't like, come alive again.
You give me a place to pretend I can visit and relax. And reading about your momma and your dad have brought many tears to my eyes. I think finding you was a blessing. Thank-you for being you.
