More photos from Saturday!

Pin It Now!

I saw this chair at the flea market on Saturday and although I hate the black naugahyde I could see some potential for this little chair. I asked the guy how much and he said $20. Nelson chimed back "will you take $15?" and the next thing you know I have an adorable chair for $15.00!!! The first thing I did when I came home was take that hideous naugahyde off the back! Look how much better it looks already! It still needs some more work to make it fit into my home but that's another post that I'm sure you will see here soon!
This house was across the street from one of the garage sales we went to. I love the front door! The back of the house overlooks the ocean. Lucky people!!!I loved this old bench. You can tell it's been in the ocean air!
I took a picture of this bird house because I would love to make one some day. It was $250.00
A collection of bronzed baby shoes I saw in one of the antique stores. What a great thing to collect!
We had lunch at Margaritaville in Capitola and this was the view from our table.

This is Carousel Taffy and they have so many different flavors. Nelson and I both spent $20 on Taffy! He said he knew he was in trouble when they give you a bucket to put your candy in!
One of the many beautiful views we saw. There was another wild fire burning in the Santa Cruz mountains so it's a little hazy. When I saw all these Barbies at the flea market I just had to take a picture and then Nelson stopped me and said we have to put Ken in the middle! Too funny!

I love the chair! What a great deal. Looks like you had a wonderful day. I know you take pictures of things for your blog. I take pictures of things that I would like to have, or would like to make and that can sometimes satisfy me for the moment when I really don't have the money to spend.
You do such a great job!

Another great chair! Some creamy white paint, some blue floral fabric on the seat. It will fit right in. I'll take a cottage on the shore of that beautiful ocean too! I know you get to see this view often, but for me, it looks like paradise.

Great chair and it does look better after your little makeover. The bird cage is wonderful, I'd love to make one too. It would probably be pretty easy!!

That really is a cool looking chair. I must be nuts but I kind of like the naugahyde. It wouldn't look good anywhere in my house but my son's room where he wants all black. You will make it into something fantastic and pretty though! Wow, $250 for the birdhouse? You can make something equally cute.

I laughed so hard at that pic of pantsless Ken in the midst of the half naked Barbies. Nelso has a great sense of humor and the pic is priceless.

The chair is going to be just perfect for your home.
The only time I went to Calif. was to see my aunt that lived in Santa Cruz...Oh, what a great time I had. I was 15 and my 16 yr old cousin went with me...My aunt took us to so many places, one being the Santa Cruz Beach. I have a pic somewhere taken of my cousin and I and we were having the time of our lives.
Stay safe from the fires out there...

Hi Cindy,
I just started blogging and found yours. What an inspiration you are. I also love to hit the yard sales!

I recently saw your post on how you paint furniture. I want to repaint my old bedroom furniture (from the 80's) black. I have learned how to begin by reading your tips but, what kind of black paint should I use? I want the new hip style black furniture that is so popular now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I came from Shades of Inspiration to see how you fixed up the bird cage, but alas, couldn't find the post. I did enjoy scrolling through all the other beautiful photos however. Is this your dog in the photo of the chair? He's so cute. I have a chihuahua too.

I found your blog through ratemyspace. I am having so much fun reading and looking at your photos. I posted on my blog about my fence. Didn't really like it much, but when I ready about that bench and the 'ocean air' I decided I liked the look of my fence now. Thanks!
