Lots of white around my home!

Pin It Now!

Lots of white around my home!

My home is becoming less blue and more white...If you've been reading my blog awhile you probably have noticed this.  I'm loving white!

A couple months ago I saw a dining room table at the Salvation Army thrift store that I really like.  Every time I go in there it's still there just waiting for me to take it home.  Yesterday I went in and it's 50% off!  It's now only $175 for the table and 6 chairs.  I didn't buy it but I'm thinking about it.  It's more elegant and formal than my dining room table.  It has french style legs and cane back chairs.  It's yellow with a brown wood top now but I would paint it white (of course) and I would make chair covers like these below.  I could then sell my dining room set for the same amount or more!  I just need to figure out how I'm going to get it home!

The photo above is from Lavender Fields and is from the Rachel Ashwell Shabby Chic Collection

Morning Cindy! I soooo enjoy your daily blog. Your creativity is amazing. I HONESTLY believe you need your own show on HGTV, or at the very least you should write a decorating book. Your home is so beautiful, filled with personality and charm. A delight to visit!ksarra

Cindy,
Go for that table and chairs. Maybe someone at work has a truck or an SUV you can borrow? I think you can rent a UHaul pickup for about $30 a day - that's all you would need and it would still be a great price.
Loving all the soothing whites...

You better go get that table if you want it! Since it's reduced 50% it will be gone soon. Then you will regret it. (I do the same thing all of the time.)

I whole-heartedly agree with the others...if it's calling your name, you will regret it if you don't buy it. Especially at 50% off.

Now, what are you waiting for? RUN, don't walk! Worry about how to get it home AFTER you put a deposit on it. (How did you get the armoire home...and Lauren's dresser?)

Uh oh, do I spy a change coming? Are you going to paint your walls white? Your "white" pictures are beautiful, and I hope you do get that table and chairs because now we will all be waiting for another fabulous makeover!

I hear you, Cindy!! I love white, too! I switched over from a dark, primitive decor years ago and I think that the older I get, the more I want to surround myself with lighter colors. And the house is so much brighter as a result! And, of course, yours is done to perfection!...Donna

I hope you figure out a way to get the table and chairs home. I have a feeling that you will. I'll be anxious to see them after you paint them white. Sounds wonderful. I love white too.

I love your blog. Your decorating style is unique. I especially like the way that you use plates in groups as wall decor. I collect Blue Willow and am thinking about buying some plate hangers from the Dollar Tree and trying it myself. I posted several photos of my "decorated" hutch on RMS and became completely disallusioned after I received a few cruel comments.

Cindy
Rent a small U-Haul and that will take care of the getting home problem. They don't cost that much to rent.
If you need help loading and unloading I'll help you if you need it.

Let me know. I have an SUV if there is need for additional moving.

Hi Cindy,
Go get it! I finally got my cane back chairs and I love them. I wanted the same set that you showed of Rachel Ashwells. I want seat covers like those but I can't ever find any. When my Mom comes to visit me this winter I think I'm going to ask her if she would make them for me. Good luck, I wish I lived closer to you I would help you get your new set!
Hugs, Kelly

Usually I just lurk, but I have to come out of lurkdom to oooh and ahhh over those little chair covers. They are DARLING!

As for getting the furniture home--what about renting the Home Depot pickup truck? It is something like $19.99 for the first 75 minutes. They don't care what you do with it--we've used it to haul stuff to the dump!

Hugs to you,

Sounds like you should snag that table and chairs before someone else gets it--especially if they've seen your blog and know how beautiful it can become with a coat of white paint! The cane backs would look great with those pretty seat slipcovers.

That sounds a lot like my "new" dining room table. I absolutely love the curvy lines of mine! I haven't painted it yet, which is odd for me, but I am enjoying the top as wood with French lace over it. I'm sure it will get painted eventually, though.

Oh it sounds gorgeous!! I sure hope you get it :) I love watching your beautiful transformations!

I SO agree with the very first comment that was left on this post!!!

I love the chair covers you're planning on making! Do you know if there is a pattern for them, or do you just freehand? I have these chairs at my kitchen table (which is white with a wood top....was given to me, and I've been waiting for the weather to be warm enough to paint it all white), and I've been searching for chair cushions for the longest time. I've never seen any that I like, and I LOVE the ones you posted from the Shabby Chic line!

By the way, I noticed that you and I have the same zip code! I guess we're neighbors! :-)

Hi Cindy,

I have to say I'm really loving the white. I'm finding myself more and more attracted to it too. Although those pastels are what I really love. I can't get away from anything frilly with roses on it. I guess it's in my blood. I love this mosaic of all your white home decor. The ideas are endless. It's always a joy to visit your blog and be inspired.
