Relax...

Pin It Now!

Tonight I sat down with a glass of wine and a new magazine and just had a relaxing evening!   I know what you're thinking...how can I be so relaxed when the HGTV crew will be here to film on Tuesday morning? Well they changed their mind!  Can you believe that!  I had the okay from my boss to take a long lunch hour on Friday to meet the carpet cleaner which I had to call back tonight and cancel!  I had a kennel booked for Beau so he wouldn't bite the camera man's ankles~ I still need to call them and cancel!  I was so stressed out for nothing.  But the good news is that I have 3 full weeks to get prepared!  Yay!  The producer emailed me and said they won't be coming until May 29th or 30th!  A huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders!  I am so happy!!!  Now maybe I can get Lauren's dresser painted this weekend.  I know I've been saying that for the last 3 or 4 weeks but I really want to do it this weekend and just get it finished!

Thank you all so much for ALL those wonderful comments (and emails) on my last post!  You guys are the greatest!  I'm really not sure if I could do this without all your support.  Your kind words about my apartment has given me so much more confidence!  Thank you so much!

And so many of you said to make sure I tell you when it will be aired...Are you kidding me?  Of course I will tell you!  I'll not only tell you as soon as I find out, I'll remind you when it gets closer, and I'll remind you the day before and the day of!  If it weren't for you visiting my blog and giving me words of encouragement I would have never put my rooms on the HGTV Rate my Space website and none of this would be happening to me!  So thank you! Have a great weekend!

Oh I bet you feel like a ton of weights have been lifted off your shoulders.

Now you can pace yourself.

I was worried when I read they changed their minds. I thought you were going to say they were not going at all. That would have been sad.

Wish I lived near you. I would gladly watch your dog while they came. I know if you are anything like me you hate to put him in a kennel.

Can't wait to see the show.

Hugs
Joanne

Well that's good that you have a little more time...and breathing room. It will all work out fine. :)

I sense your relief and I'm glad the immediate pressure is off. However, if you are like me, I suspect you will never feel totally ready, no matter how much time you have. But since you have extra notice now, perhaps you can arrange to also take off from work the day before the film crew is scheduled to arrive. You would probably enjoy having that time to do some last minute "fluffing."

Oh, and maybe getting those floors down now could really happen! Wouldn't that be wonderful? :D

I SO wish I could get away with decorating my house like you have! With 2 small children and manly man husband I don't see that happening any time soon though. However, I do have control of my craft room - and I really want it more girly. I want to paint an old cheap entertainment center. Its made of cheap pressed would with a veneer. Can you give me any ideas on the best way to paint this? Thanks so much!

That is good news! I was astounded that the HGTV crew was coming by so soon after you accepted their offer. This gives you time to breathe and relax, and also the time to really savor the experience!

Now when they're there you take lots of pix so you can post them on your blog just in case some of us can't make it. Your home is so beautiful and you're wonderful at making something look great. I love your romantic spirit. Get a good night's sleep tonight, paint that chest and Happy Mother's Day!

Yippee! Three weeks to get ready....just think of all you can get done in three weeks! Wish I could be there to share a glass of wine with you and talk about all the fun you're going to have when they put it on the air. :)

Millie said...

I do hope they will air the program in Canada. It's nice that you have a little more time to prepare...as others have said, maybe you will get those floors before then, but it might be a little too stressful for you to move everything out and back.
Enjoy the journey!

Congrats on your being selected! Your place is truly wonderful. You explain stuff for everyone great too.....u should have your own show. I would see if your landlord will put in the laminated wood flooring now. She should be proud that probably her prize tenant is being honored! About your daughter's dresser, I know she picked cream but I saw this and thought how cool-- check it out. http://ratemyspace.hgtv.com/SNC/ViewItem.aspx?pguid=6db6be3f-1720-4ba3-a081-999042c09b6b&itemguid=6f3c9731-94bb-4113-8f2e-a2faa9e01510

Hi Cindy, glad you have a little more time to "tweak" your beautiful home. I have a feeling when they meet you and see your wonderful personality, and then get a look at your beautiful cottage home, you may be offered a show of your own. At least that's what I would like to see happen! In my opinion, your blog is better than any show that is on right now.Happy Mother's Day!ksarra

Can't believe I've missed all this excitement - been bogged down in the garden every day lately - what a great thing to at last see all your efforts on TV. You will be prepared and perfect I just know - and everything in your home will be so great they won't know what to choose!!
Try to relax a bit Cindy - you have more time now. Hope today, Mother's Day, is going great and know you will be spoiled and pampered.
Congratulations - HGTV don't know how fortunate they are to have 'discovered' you and your amazing decorating talents. Perhaps, at long last, this new show will be a return to the loveliness they used to have - most programs are not worth watching anymore!
Hugs - Mary.

Hi Cindy! I love your RMS rooms and congratulation on being chosen for the TV show! As far as being nervous, don't be! The producer who filmed me in March was great and it was a wonderful experience. Worst part for me was finding an outfit to wear since my closet is filled with black, white and red! I do want to gently caution you about talking publicly about the TV show due to the confidentiality agreement. That thing was pretty extensive and is why I'm posting as anonymous here. Good luck to you and I look forward to seeing your episode!

Wow! What a rollercoaster of emotions!

Joy, anxiety, thrill, stress, excitement, apprehension, exhileration, etc...

Did I get them all? LOL
I am so excited for you! Your apartment is lovely, and larger than my single family home of 800 sq.ft. (can you believe it?).

I glad you have a little more time to prepare for their visit. You'll have time to everything just the way you want it.
hmmmm...you think the landlord would install your new floors next week? hahaha

Congratulations!!!
Kimberly :)
