Breakfast and Awards!

Pin It Now!

I have on ongoing struggle every morning with breakfast. I'm the type of person that NEEDS breakfast every morning or else my blood sugar drops and I get light-headed and I feel sick...hypoglycemic...that's me! I love bagels and cream cheese, bacon and eggs, breakfast burritos with lots of cheese but I can't eat that every morning anymore even though that's what I crave. I end up eating instant oatmeal out of a styrofoam cup that I make when I get to work every morning. I am so sick of instant oatmeal!
I'm not much of a yogurt lover but if I can have yogurt with fruit and a little granola it's a whole other story. It tastes even better when it looks pretty (really it does). I had to get up early yesterday to have time to make this and eat it before work but it was worth it! Well worth it...it made Monday morning feel special! Lauren loved it too but this is her favorite way to eat strawberries. Standing in the kitchen with a can of whipped cream in one hand and a berry in the other.

Debbie~My Vintage Daydreams and Rue's Peanut Butter and Jelly Life gave me this award. Thank you both so much. I know I'm a party pooper because I'm not going to pass it on...I hope you forgive me!

Hi Cindy,
I'm the sausage, egg, and all that kind of stuff girl too, but have graduated to the yogurt, granola and blueberries so I don't look like a sausage. I agree that food looks better if it's pretty, your breakfast here looks great.
Have you tried the Greek yogurt with honey, it's great and tastes really, really good. Feels like blueberry pie, not healthy food.

Oh, and congratulations on the Award too.

Happy day!

Cindy
The yogurt and granola thing is my favorite. Like eating it as well.
But, I do like eating a full breakfast on the weekends, sausage or bacon, especially the applewood bacon yummy. With eggs toast etc...

Is it nice to be rewarded for your hard work. Congrats.

Cindy - your pictures are soooo good - that breakfast looks so good - I might even eat yogurt - can't take that texture, but with granola and fruit and in a pretty martini glass - it might just work. Love where you have the wicker chair - what do teen-agers know - If I ask mine that she would have said EXACTLY the same thing!!

I found some tiny wild strawberries growing amidst the lawn in my front yard! This area use to be a berry farm, I've heard.

I have to say I love to have wonderful desserts in fancy dishes. Even simple pudding tastes so much nicer. However, I never even though of making my breakfast looking beautiful too.

Another great idea you gave me!

Cindy it looks so much yummier... (I know that's not even a word but you know what I mean) in a beautiful dish than a bowl.
I have toasted muesli with yogurt for breakfast but now I know I am going to put it in something prettier than a white bowl.
Oh to be young and be able to eat strawberries and cream like Lauren.
Have a great week

I was really laughing about the fact that your daughter eats the strawberries with the whipped cream right out of the can...so does my Josh, he fills his mouth so full I just know it's gonna go all over my kitchen, then pops the berry in on top! They would make quite a pair eating together, bibs would be needed for sure!
Keep eating in the AM, it is so important, have you tried the Organic instant oatmeal yet? I eat Maple Nut by Natures Path, I love it, it's fast and really fills you up!
Bless your work week,
Donna Lynn

Lauren. . . my 14 year old daughter eats her strawberries the exact same way you do!!!! I have to buy whipped cream in bulk when strawberries are in season LOL!!

~How Yummy Looking, I am so going to try that!! :) I agree your presentation of things is so pretty and makes someone feel really important. But I also love the way your daughter eats her strawberries. :)

Cindy I like Laurens taste, mmmmmmmm
RED strawberries, I love mine dipped in melted chocolate(actually almond bark) but right now whipped creme would taste divine too!

Hi Cindy! I need breakfast too, but when I was out in the working world, I never took time to sit and eat before leaving for work. I'd rather have that extra time to SLEEP! I like protein now for breakfast and take time to eat on a pretty plate. It's a nice way to start the day and you are right, things taste much better with a pretty presentation! Thanks for sharing your yummy looking breakfast. I'll have to give it a try! xoxo ~ Joy

Hi Cindy, THANK YOU so much for taking the time to find the "bicycle" artist, and then posting it on my RMS space. You are tooooo kind! I LOVE the fact that you make ordinary things special. You see possibilities! I can't wait to read your blog each day, it's like a decorating magazine that has all the stuff I like!!!! Have a great day, and thanks again, ksarra

BTW, I got one of those awards too...it is a ton of work to pass it on, WHEW WEE! I didn't know how to do it either, had to really think hard, felt like Pooh Bear in the head tonight! Don't blame you for not passing it on...

Hi Cindy,
I love the way the yogurt looks in the fancy glass. I'm sure it tastes better that way.
Congrats on your awards.

I don't do it often, but sometimes I do go to the trouble to make the meal look special. I does seem to make it taste better, doesn't it?

Oh my, your breakfast looked very tasty! A perfect way to start out a 'Mean Monday' as I call them. To me Mondays are the worst - maybe making something tempting like these each Monday would actually make me look forward to them. :-) PS - Love the blue and white plate featured. I have a few exactly like them!

Everything tastes better when it's pretty! Coffee tastes better when it's in a pretty cup, OJ tastes better in a wine glass & I bet your yogurt is just fantastic from a martini glass. I love your blog!

Okay I calmed down enough to comment now LOL

That breakfast looks great to me! I think things taste better when they are beautifully presented too :)

You don't have to give it to anyone at all. I just wanted you to know that the work you do is worthy of an award :)

hugs,
rue

Yum! Add some Kashi Go Lean "crunch" cereal to it and you will stay full until lunch! It has a lot of protein which keeps you from getting hungry! I LOVE the mirror makeover!
