Amazing Blogger Award

Pin It Now!

I was given this award awhile back by two amazing bloggers, Angela ~Cottage Magpie and Sher ~ Sher's Creative Expressions. Thanks to both of you...I think you are amazing too!

I now need to tell you 7 random facts about me. This is getting harder and harder to do since I've already bored you with random facts about me in the past.

1. I'm not a cat person....don't hate me. It's not that I don't like cats, I really do. I can't stand that they claw the furniture and the stink up my house with their litter box. I really would love to have a cat but I can't deal with those things and I care too much about them to have an outside cat that could get hit by a car. The hardware store has a cat that lives in their nusery department and I LOVE that cat! I have to pet it everytime I go there! I really do love cats, I just can't live with them.

2. If I go to a restaurant and they have a Reuben Sandwich on the menu I will order it 99.9% of the time. I love Reuben Sandwiches...the corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing, Swiss cheese and rye bread all go together so well. Mmmm...I craving one now!

3. I could not live without a dishwasher. Enough said!

4. I'm going to change my last name back to my maiden name soon. My maiden name is Kihn. Because I know at least one person will ask...No, I'm not related to Greg Kihn. Shhh don't tell any of my old high school classmates this because I use tell everyone back then that he was my cousin.

5. I'm not a big "go to the movies" type of person. I find it hard to sit still for 2 hours...I'd rather be doing something. I'm sure that doesn't surprise anyone! It's probably all that coffee I'm always drinking!

6. I have a gym membership that I pay every. single. month. and I haven't gone since last February! I plan on going after work tonight. I'm hoping by writing this that it will somehow, magically make me feel compelled to go. I hate exercising!

7. I'm always so amazed that people actually read my blog. I can't believe my eyes when I see that 700 people visited my blog in one day (okay, not 700 everyday but on some good days it hits 700...seems to always be on Wednesdays...I have no idea why!) I have to pinch myself! Thank you all so much...you make my day!

I'm supposed to give this award to 7 other bloggers but you probably noticed that I never forward these on. That should probably be one of my 7 random things about me. But, if you are a blogger and you've posted for 6 months or longer then you are Amazing and I give this award to you!

Cindy...I read your blog just about everyday, but don't always comment.

You shouldn't be surprised you have so many visitors to your blog. You have a real talent for creating a beautiful home and are an inspiration to those of us who love romantic homes. You deserve every hit your blog gets & then some!

Cindy,
I loved your 7 random facts. I, too, hate exercising and have joined gyms but only gone once or twice. You're not alone at all with that one! Maybe this year I will be a good girl and exercise more. I can always hope! Lol! Amy

Hi Cindy!

I laughed at some of your "things". I can especially relate to the exercise thing. My husband keeps threatening to let mine expire, but somehow letting that happen would make me feel like a loser. I started back today, and it took me MOST of the day just to get there!! You'd think I was being sent off for torture...

How is your chair upholstery decision coming? I can't wait to see the final product!!

Happy New Year,
Linda

I have to confess I'm one of those who enjoy your blog so much I often visit multiple times a day. I love coming back to re-read favorite posts, admire your beautiful photos and read the comments!

I know what you mean about exercise. Yuck! Eventually, I plan to be back in the gym too but for now, I made my hubby bring the treadmill in from the garage and set it up in the family room last week. It's hard to ignore when it's right there staring me in the face! So far, 10.5 painful, sweaty, miserable miles in 6 days but I'm determined to get back into a regular exercise routine again. Good luck to you. I know it's not easy, especially when you've worked all day.

Ok good, I'm really not a "blog stalker". After reading that people read your blog multiple times a day I feel right at home since I do too. I love your ideas and enjoy viewing your pics. You and I have a lot in common. Forget the movies, let's refinish some furniture or re-decorate our "chick room"!

Thanks for sharing and congrats on the appropriate "Amazing Blogger Award"

A lot of the things you mentioned sound so much like myself. The Cat thing the love of a good Ruben sandwich.
The movie thing and changing my last name back.
The only thing I don't have in common is the readers. I can't seem to get my blog up and running for people to view, still working on that.
ETC.......

Cindy, I too went back to my given name. I asked my sons if they were okay with it first - they didn't care - and so I did it. I've never really understood the name changing thing when you marry anyway. Have several friends that still use their given names after marriage due to professional reasons, but use their married name personally. It has caused some problems - name on airline ticket doesn't match name on ID, etc.
One reason I did it was to honor my dad - It's a gift he gave me that no one can ever take away.
Check your blog every day - one of my faves.

I really enjoyed reading the 7 random things about you. You ARE an amazing blogger and I love the "atmosphere" you've created through your blogging and writing, thanks for sharing your life with us. I can relate to the exercise bit too, that's why I haven't joined a gym, haha! I guess house cleaning and gardening would count as exercise.

Cindy, I always find it strange that anyone reads my blog, too, although in your case it's easy enough to understand -- you have the beautiful, over-the-top romantic home that we all dream of. And, you made it all yourself through your hard work and talent!

Oh, and I love Reuben sandwiches, too.
xoxo,
Mary

Hey Cindy. . . oh. . .my. . . Gosh. Ruebens are my all time favorite sandwich too. There are two restaurants around me that make the best Ruebens EVER. One has a 1/2 sandwich cup of soup on the menu so I don't feel too bad then ordering a Rueben with all that extra Thousand Island on the side :) too!!

Blessings,

Sher
