Confession

Pin It Now!

Yesterday I told you that I had a bad case of the "I wants"...well to be honest my spending lately feels like it's out of control. I'm not going too crazy but I have been buying a lot of little things. I've shown you before these crystal candlesticks that were a gift from my brother when I was in my twenties (pictured above.) I bought these bobeches to dress them up. They are actually acrylic but they look like crystal. The really add a lot of bling to the candlesticks. They just sit on top of the candlestick. I just love shiny crystal things lately. The other candlesticks were thrift store purchases awhile ago.
EDITED TO ADD: I bought these bobeches at a store in California called The Eclectic Touch which is located in the Willow Glen area of San Jose. I did a Google search and found some on eBay (click here)
Sorry for the blurry photos. I was going to retake some new photos last night and forgot to do it!
I also bought this Christmas ornament. It looks much better than it showing up in this photo. It has glitter which you can't even see.

I've also been going crazy buying bulbs to force indoors. I've planted two amaryllis, a bunch of paperwhites and some hyacinths. I have some more amaryllis to plant this weekend. My home should be in full bloom around Christmas! I'm going to buy more bulbs to force indoors for after Christmas. In January I'm so ready for Spring so it's nice to see things blooming indoors.

Pattie, actually my house is really small, less than 1,000 sq feet! I'm not of the "less is more" decorating style...I love lots of stuff!

The crystal pendants look lovely and they do dress up and modernize things we've had for ages. Great purchase!! The ornament is lovely (even if we can't see the sparkles) and the paperwhites are spectacular. Indoor bulbs are such a wonderful addition to a home at the holidays.

Please tell me where you found the bobeches. I thought I might like those sconces on either side of my curio cabinet better if they had bobeches with prisms. I found a site on the internet that had beautiful crystal ones. However, they were $15 each (x4) and I just haven't wanted to spend that much money. Yours look like they could easily pass for crystal. Lovely.

As usual I love it all! You just seem to have this natural ability for putting things together so beautifully. My daughter loves your blog and told me that in our next house (a few months from now) that she wants everything white, just like you. Looks like I'll be asking for some sweet shabby-ing advice soon! Cindy, in case you missed it, there's an award waiting for you on my blog. Have a wonderful day!

Cindy,
I force a lot of bulbs at Christmas too. I love the paperwhites and the smell reminds me of Christmas; some people don't like it, but I do. I wish they sold those bulb supports separately, but I couldn't find them. My bulbs always flop just when they are the prettiest.

So sorry to hear about you not feeling well and practically setting yourself on fire. It sounds like you're better now. I have a similar candle holder/vase that I sometimes turn upside down and use the glass part as the base and the gold part as the candle holder or a pedestal for other goodies. Loving the wicker cart!!

Hi Cindy,

My "wanter" has been going crazy lately too so I had to giggle at this. I think your home is so beautiful and it deserves a treat now and again and so do you!

And...I love your little Santa.
Thanks so much for the tip on the blogs with M-C things. I can hardly wait to go over and see them.

Cindy we sell candlesticks very similar to the ones you are showcasing in our store. And I love your flowers. I connect very well with your statement that you're ready for spring in January. Isn't that always the case? We seem to rush each season to get it here (before it's time really) and then once it is - see ya! I'm glad it's not just me!

Love,
Julie

Love everything. I also just started doing bulbs indoors, paperwhites that is. Living in the North East, when I went to buy mine, I got them 75% off. Who could resist! Hope you are feeling much better.

Those bobeches make the candlesticks.
Very good choice.

Sometimes it's just to hard to wait to get things, since we want to enjoy them NOW and not wait. And . . .Hey, we aren't gettin any younger!

Yes, please do tell...where on earth can we find a white tiered serving piece like yours??!! Your blog is absolutely delightful!!

You will be SO lucky if you get those hyacinth bulbs to bloom by Christmas. Mine bloomed about 3 weeks after. I had about 50-100? I was trying to force for my daughter's Christmas wedding. I had to settle for lots of roses instead!
be sure and keep us posted.

Boboches make a good thing even better! I'm trying to reign in my spending - lots of little things add up after awhile! Your home should be filled with the scent of all those wonderful flowers by Christmas (then you can plant them outside when they're done blooming).
